It’s made by actual Greek people and focuses on a mother-daughter relationship to explore how women are sacrificed by powerful men in times of war. Also the main actress has the face of an angel 🙏 the whole movie is available on YT with English subtitles.

Thinking about how Akane might be forgetful in general but that part of the reason she doesn't really bother to remember people much also seems to be related to the fact that she was raised in an environment where she could easily expect them to be dead and how this is why everyone is sort of equalized to her beyond fighting prowess

So Akane is actually saying that the next time she could call people's names it'd be them already dead right in front of her (technically the sentence is like "next time I call them, I might be doing that to corpses" but the corpses would likely be the corpses of the people who had those names so I specified in case it would be more unnatural literally-speaking), not that she would be referring to people already dead remotely. It paints a darker picture, where Akane would be calling to someone who won't answer her.
