It does not mean "trigger warning uhhh something". In fact, it means the exact opposite of "trigger warning uhhh something", because you use it with other tags. You write a fucked up fic with extreme violence and gore, you tag it as "extreme violence", "gore" and you tag it with "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with emotional abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, you tag it with "emotional abuse", "gaslighting" and "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with your extremely niche kink that appeals to like 3 other people and may skeeve out the rest of the fandom, you tag that with your kink and "dead dove: do not eat". It's so people know you really mean the content warnings.

It's NOT a catch-all term for "uhhh this may be fucked idk". TAG YOUR SHIT GENEROUSLY.

Quick explainer on what is going on here for anyone who may be curious:

When you open that link (don't generally open random unknown urls btw) you get greeted by this big ol' disclaimer banner:

A proxy site! What is a proxy site? It's essentially a third party "mirror", accessing the AO3 database. This, when used correctly, is actually a very smart anti-censorship measure - if AO3 gets blocked in a country, citizens of that country can still access the archive via a proxy site. Said proxies are also completely independant, mitigating any potential legal trouble that could arise if OTW/the archive attempted to circumvent these blocks themselves. It's even mentioned in their FAQ!

Unfortunately with this result showing up at the top of a duckduckgo search (and similar reports with other proxy urls in the notes), suggesting either google bombing (manipulation of search engines to push a site higher in the results) or just flat out paying to get it pushed up there, in this instance this is almost definitely phishing. If I had to wager a guess it's probably for credential stuffing (trying stolen email/password combos on other, more lucrative sites in hopes you've reused that combo).

Regardless check your site urls as you go, especially seeing as this seems to be A Thing right now with AO3, and if you end up on one without the banner send it into their support. Proxies in general are a great feature, so it's a shame to see them abused like this tbh

I reported this to duckduckgo a couple weeks ago and they seem to have dropped it out of the search results.

For future reference, you can do this by clicking the triple dots next to a search result and selecting "share feedback about this site."

It'll lead you to the following screen:

Where you can select from whatever option seems relevant (I think in this case I picked 'misleading result').

It was removed pretty quickly.

A bit of a hot take??? I really hope future Sonic games start looking at Sonic Boom for character animation references. And no, I don't mean the show.

I think we're at a point when we can look past all the bugs and glitches this game had at release (if you'd had the opportunity to play it recently you'd see that, while there's still bugs, they barely affect the gameplay anymore, which is a HUGE step from when it was first released), and look at the art in it. While there's a lot I love about Sonic Boom aesthetically, I want to focus on the characters animation, especially in cutscenes.

I'm not exaggerating when I say I think this game has better facial animation than any other Sonic game, and while Sonic Frontiers was a step in the right direction, I don't think it compares to Sonic Boom and I do mean that in all honesty.

Here I put together just a FEW examples of how expressive the characters are in this game:

LOOK AT HOW EXPRESSIVE THEY ALL ARE! HOW NATURALLY THEIR BODIES MOVE WITH THEIR ACTIONS! HOW THEY INTERACT WITH EACH OTHER WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING AT ALL! HOW WE CAN SEE THEIR THOUGHT PROCESS HAPPENING IN THEIR HEAD!! THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO SEE IN FUTURE SONIC GAMES!!!

This is truly the best I've seen of these characters in games!!! And I really hope we can move in this direction from here!! I just love how much personality they have in this game, not only in their dialogue, but also represented by their body language. Like I said, Sonic Frontiers was a good step towards this, but I would really like if we stopped focusing on just the bugs this game has, and paid attention to some of the great decisions the developers made! There's so much to be rescued from this almost completely ignored game, and I would love to go back to this style of animation in the future.

Also I love the vibes of this universe and the character designs because they all look so different from each other and there's more diversity in the body types and all but that's not the point of this post NSKZNSNXNSMX

I completely agree. The mainline games don't have this level of expression and could really take notes from it. And I really do think these games could've been great with some extra tweaks to the game play, the writing, and few instances of animation.🤔

Playing Sonic 06, and there's no indication Shadow is actually a GUN agent, he's just helping out because an agent, being Rouge, has gone missing. Shadow has nothing better to do, so does.

Shadow isn't heartless either. More misconceptions than you can throw at a bus.

Saves Rouge:

Tries to reboot Omega:

Shadow's at the front ready to take Iblis Phase 2. "But why isn't Sonic?" Two reasons. One, why should he? And second, one power house at the front and back.

I haven't got the footage yet, but he's touched by Sonic's death.

A classic case of misunderstood characterisation. Shadow is so vulnerable and (for me) relatable. But he portrays this cold facade to ward any friends or foes away. This character is locked in his mind. Like Sonic is. But where these two differ from each other is Sonic portrays a positive visage, Shadow hides away from the crowd. There's so much potential for Shadow... and it's lost with incompetent writers.

'06 is a game that was put out much too early. From the glitches certain story beats, a lot needed ironing out. But it also got a lot right. Shadow being a primary example for the reasons above. The writers for him understood his character. And here's hoping we see this version of his character in future games, 'Cause I'm tired of the all broody and angry "edgy the hedgy".
