I don’t like to take long breaks in between posts, but I’ve been busy. I’ve been working on a book—a coloring book! Between that and work, I haven’t had the time to keep things up here. The good news is I’m more than halfway done!

If you’ve been following me for a while, I’m sure this looks familiar. The top is a redo of the bottom. The bottom was one of my first illustrations! It’s been shared so many times on so many platforms, which I’m happy about, but I cringe every time I see it. 😬 I’m pleased to see that I’ve gotten much better, yet my style remains the same. I never want to lose or change my style. I love it too much!

So your locs are less than perfect... it’s okay. During a time where folks are loosing loved ones. Life’s work. And life. Just chill. I’ve stressed about my locs many times. The traction alopecia bald patch from that set of braids in undergrad. Hair loss from postpartum hormones. Loc and grid loss from misadventures with underwhelming loctician. That time my husband was laid off when we had a newborn and I could not afford to pay someone $100 to retighten my locs every 4 weeks. I know I spent HUNDREDS of dollars for these locs but it is not worth my joy. My hair may not be as awesome as yours or hers (as seen in this video) but I make the best of it and appreciate it.
