I usually try to keep my class an engaging and funny one. I improvise teaching through the use of technology and relevant videos. This has helped me to create further interest in a child's mind. These days I'm engaged in creating interactive PowerPoint presentations to explain how i would carry out a class. A very challenging task as i need to cater the needs of all students. Hence activities should be at a level that will allow the participation of everyone.

Welcome to Dojo Explanation

Dojo is an online tracking data. As an educator I see the following benefits;

1. I am able to create groups and assign them work. 2. Parents can also be added on the site therefore, they can keep record of the studies of their child. 3. A set of expectation is created. 4. Allocate positive points to encourage hard work, participation and team work as well. 5. Images or videos may be uploaded to encourage interaction. 6. I can also say that Dojo is very helpful and safe.

Basically I think it is a fun way of teaching and learning. There is a big scope for participation at the own pace of the students. They will be motivated at well with the rewards points. As a teacher, to negatively tag a students will have a bad impact and the students may have a low self esteem, therefore I will restrict myself to give the negative points. Because we cannot forget that parents are also viewing the page. So this can be embarrassing to see a low performance whereby I as an educator I should help to improve the performance of the child.

Refreshing on Kahoot

Hello lovely students, I've managed to work align my google classroom requirement by trying to explore the Kahoot application further and post some question on the Functionalist view of the family.

It has been an amazing experience to tackle the level of difficulties and number of questions are restricted while using it as free trial. Basically I did planned for more questions to keep engage in the learning practise, however had to pick and choose some best questions under the free trial.

Social Bookmarking

A social bookmark is used to store, save, collect, and organise web pages which are worth, important and relevant to be read. It is easily accessible for several references. Through my understanding, while exploring the Diigo Bookmark as a future teacher of Sociology, I see that it can be a useful tool for online practices. I can use the Diigo as a plan of work. It is a platform which gives me several possibilities;

1. Save important websites.

2. Access the websites on several technology devices.

3. Arrange the website according to titles, notes, keyboard tags, and groups.

4. Go through bookmarks to get easy access to information required.

5. Share it publicly or within a group of known people. Maybe with the students and colleagues.

6. Use annotate to bring attention on certain powerful points and notes whereby it can be highlighted or a sticky note is used to make the students reflect on what they have been reading.

Diigo is a safe and solid working app but as a teacher we shouldn't rely to much on all information shared on the internet as to err is human, so definitely there may be irrelevant information. As a teacher, we should be able to search for useful and proper information before sharing it.

Diigo also got its cons for taking too much of time for certain files to be downloaded and it compulsory requires the connection of internet.

Quizziz

Quizizz is a creativity software company used in class, group works, pre-test review, exams, unit test, and impromptu tests. It allows students and teachers to be online at the same time. Quizizz is a free tool.

There are certain similarities between the two platforms of Kahoot and Quizziz but each has a slightly different focus: Kahoot is teacher directed, it displays the questions and answers on the teacher's device; whereas Quizizz is student directed, it displays all the information on the student's device.

Online Teaching due to Covid19 Lockdown

How Teaching and Learning is being done online

During this pandemic covid-19, we are using online platforms such as teams, zoom and google classroom. These platform allows us to easily conduct classes and to keep contact with learning. At first it was difficult to adapt to learning online but gradually we are moving for a better learning and teaching style. I think that learning at own pace is also beneficial for some students especially for those who always arrived late at their learning centres.  We have been therefore studying by E Learning. What is eLearning? Elearning is a general term that relates to the planning of arranged kinds that is passed on through alone PC, with the usage of contraptions like CD ROMs, PDAs, electronic TV, Internet, and wide locale associations. All things considered, Elearning is seen as a convincing and gainful game plan of an independent individual getting ready. The critical advantages of eLearning are the irrelevant cost per understudy and the cutoff flexibility made do with this system for getting ready. It's available through the Internet 24 hours out of each day, 7 days of the week, whenever the understudy has the chance and interest.

We have been introduced the to Google classroom. For me it is not a new tool as my mother has been teaching online during the lockdown of 2020. So as she lack experiences using technology, I had to explore it and help her.
