Ranking the ENHYPEN Members from Most to Least Likely to Get Unhealthily Obsessed with Kim Sunoo
Before we begin, I must tell you all that I have posted this before on the other blue app already. Some agreed, some did not—but that's fine. We all have different ways of looking at things, and each and every perspective is valid.
I have to emphasize, though, that this list focuses on the member's potential to be unhealthily obsessed with Sunoo. Knowing everything about him might be the signs of obsession, but it doesn't already or necessarily mean it's unhealthy. I rely on you all to have a respectful discussion on this one come what may, because people on the other blue app took it upon themselves to feel offended because their fave did not top the list (as if that was a bad thing) and ended up cursing at others who does not think the same as them (which, in my opinion, is really immature).
Moreover (this starts to sound like an academic essay, I apologize), I must point out several more things about this list:
This is not a ship ranking. If this was, you better believe Jongseong would be on No. 1.
I do not claim to be right. This is a ranking made on things I know, I've seen, and I've noticed about the members. I have a different set of priorities (i.e. I think spending time with someone is much more appealing than knowing every single thing they do), so my ranking mostly relies on how I view unhealthy obsession.
For legal purposes: this is just for fun. Unclench and stop being serious. If this hurts your booboo, then stop reading, block my blog, and let's be on our merry ways.
Lastly, this post is open to be replicated, modified, and revised in any way, no need to ask for my permission. If the alternative is you sending me hateful messages to my inbox, then please, please make your own fucking list. Aye, thank you.
Self-explanatory. Jungwon saw Sunoo on that gym and decided he’ll be friends with Sunoo-hyung or die trying. Eyes never leave Sunoo; Sunoo does something, Jungwon knows it (he isn’t ENHYPEN’s CCTV for nothing). The most fearless amongst the members when it comes to expressing affection toward Sunoo, icon of courage and bravery. Gives off intense tries-something-amazing-Sunoo-hyung-you-have-to-check-this-out energy; he lives for Sunoo's feedbacks. Probably has a long list of things he wanted to try doing with Sunoo (Read: The Many Times Jungwon asks Sunoo Out: A DJ OOJUNG Saga), plus elaborate plans on how to carry them out (Read: Amusement park date).
I cannot defend this man; how many times has he proposed to Sunoo by now? Totally lost count. Would’ve topped this list if Jungwon wasn’t such a fucking menace, and if SunJake did not have that period where Jake does not know how to deal with the entirety of Sunoo post-debut. Worry not though, mans learned how to and found the answer in kneeling down to propose to Sunoo every chance he gets. Totally clingy when given the opportunity, but it has to be a very wide door of opportunity (if it isn’t, he breaks the wall down and makes it wide himself).
Another lost case. When Sunoo talked to him during that one I-Land moment I believe we all know about, Sunoo had him wrapped around his fingers forever. Problem is: dude doesn’t know how to go about it so he decides to mask this immense confusion and denial as playful remarks. And his hobby is watching Sunoo’s cute fancams—not sleeping, or watching dramas, or listening to music, I mean, how am I supposed to defend him after that? A bumbling mess in Kim Sunoo’s presence—not that we can really blame him. We’re all a bumbling mess for Kim Sunoo.
Hides his obsession pretty amazingly, but not perfectly. Boy slips from time to time and lets go of information he wouldn’t have known about Sunoo unless he was watching him like a fucking hawk (Read: [About Sunoo] He really wants to be an INFJ.). Plays it cool and pretends he isn’t the least bothered by Sunoo, but he is. HE IS—if all those OT7 lives he was caught fondly staring at Sunoo are enough indications. He’s much more clueless than Sunghoon on dealing with the idea of Sunoo, and we can’t blame him, too. Totally understandable. Lately though, he’s been getting braver re: MANIFESTO in the US. We love that for him. Also, it’s worth pointing out that he has that particular power of rendering Sunoo so shy, so props to our man.
Ni-Ki is the perfect example of tiptoeing that line between smitten and obsessed. Kid is clearly enamored by his Sunoo-hyung and can perfectly express it without pretending he’s not bothered by it whatsoever, because he isn’t. Still, he’s just a kid trying to deal with the perfection that is Kim Sunoo, so he still ends up slipping from time to time, as can be seen by this specific clinginess he has reserved for Sunoo (Read: Sleepwalking to Sunoo's Bed). In the same way, I believe Sunoo has this specific adoration reserved only for Riki, so that's pretty cool of them. Ni-Ki knew how to push all of Sunoo's buttons and when Sunoo actually responded, he's got 0 bullets to fire his gun now.
Addendum: Most challenges to this list have been directed at No. 5, citing how much Ni-Ki knows about Sunoo. That is valid, but I have to say it does not look like the makings of an unhealthy obsession for me. He does not push Sunoo to do certain things or act a certain way: if any, he seems like he really respects Sunoo's preferences, and that for me, is really, really healthy (and adorable).
Tricky. He's clearly smitten with Sunoo, but this is as casual as it can get for him. It's as casual as breathing for Jay, so he doesn't pay this much attention. Still, this does not erase the fact that he can be a total madman trying to please Sunoo every time he can: sees a nice restaurant? Must bring Sunoo here. Finds a good perfume? Must give Sunoo a try. He's like another version of Jungwon in this note, minus the assertion. Jay does not know how to assert anything with Sunoo, so he plays it as the Wanna Try This? game and just settles however Sunoo responds. If anything, it might be Sunoo who's obsessed with Jay, but we can't really conclude it this way because Sunoo is a really, really clever mind and if he wanted, he can act a certain way exactly how he intends to. Jay's obsession levels with Sunoo is more of a conscious decision rather than the aftermath of any specific event, hence why he is ranked at the bottom of this list.
