Introducing the Funk Trolls of Variety Village!
First on the list we have Dandy!
A fun loving and adventurous troll, Dandy grew up as an only child in a small land bound town in Funk territory. After he graduated Dandy convinced his best friend Hooper to come with him on a trip to the Hinterlands so that they could explore and see what is really out there. However their bus took a wrong turn and they ended up in the Deep Forest, where they and the rest of the passengers met the long lost Pop tribe, many of them choosing to stay after the bus was repaired, including Dandy! Now he woks as an artist, finding work mostly in the decoration business with frequent requests for prop work from the theatre club!
Hooper is the opposite of his best friend Dandy in almost every way, calm, uncaring, generally quiet and content to just let life take him where it may. He grew up with many siblings and though he does miss them all, he finds great satisfaction in the myriad of simple labour type jobs he does for Variety Village. He joins in the calmer community activities like bongo sessions and poetry, and found himself growing fond of another Funk troll who was on that bus.
A doctor by the name Dr Marbleton.
As an accomplished general practitioner with expertise in other troll species, Dr Marbleton had been invited to work at a hospital in the Hinterlands capital city. However in the time between her bus' unexpected stop in the Deep Forest and when it was fixed, she learned a great many things about the Pop trolls and their village. Including the horrifying fact that out of 700+ trolls, there were only three medical professionals, one of whom never finished their training and another who was only a nurse (for now). Not to mention the many gaping holes in their medical knowledge and primitive equipment to work with. The Hinterlands had many medical professionals, as well as tools and thousands of medical texts, but these trolls had almost nothing and needed her more.
Dr Marbleton is a prodigy when it comes to medicine, and has the uncanny ability to keep a cool head in any medical emergency she comes across. However, her talents in other areas are extremely lacking, and if it doesn't involve surgery, diagnostics or prescriptions, then most any crisis will cause her to fumble and run around like a headless chicken. Being a doctor is the only thing she's good at, but at least she is really good at it.
And finally (my favorite) Copacetic!
Copacetic was a traveling trader who crash landed near the Deep Forest one day a few years before the bus carrying the other three arrived. Her ship had been too advanced for the Pop trolls to repair and out in the forest there simply wasn't any tools or materials appropriate for such advanced machinery. That and the fact Copacetic had arrived early on in the village's settlement, when they were still too fearful to travel far from the safe haven they found and escort her home, pushed Copacetic to stay in the village. She abandoned her job as a trader and instead became a mechanic like her parents, working with the fuzzlings and any other handy troll to improve the technology in the village. Her skill was average in the Funk tribe, but her travel experience also gives her a new perspective on things, and her days of having to make due with more primitive tools out in the world means that she has some creative ideas even on the standards of her tribe.
Despite the definition of her name, Copacetic is a very high strung individual. She is constantly stressed and frustrated, with an air of someone who is done with everybody's bullshit and just want's to go home. But she is surprisingly cooperative when working with others on projects, and seems to thrive in stressful situations, able to think on the fly and keep focused on her objective no matter what.
