First time asking questions here :)

I want to hear from you: what happened to KISMET? Where were they all these years? Behind the scenes? Being Branch's secret friends? Did they know that their brother/best friend was gray??Did you know about Grandma Rosiepuff's death???

We don't have enough answers for so many questions 😔

(I particularly like to think that they were there during all the films, always behind the scenes silently supporting Branch.)

Where WAS KISMET While Branch Was Suffering?? 😭👀

FIRST OF ALL.... This question is evil. Because now I have to think about timelines AND emotions.

And DreamWorks really said:

✨ “Here’s two boybands” ✨ “No, we will not explain anything.”

HELLO???

📅 The Timeline

Okay so let’s line this up because this is IMPORTANT.

BroZone exists → breaks up

Branch is still a kid → still singing

Grandma Rosiepuff gets taken → Branch stops singing

Years pass → Movie 1 happens

Now here’s the key thing: BroZone had to exist during a time when Bergens were NOT actively hunting Trolls. Because there is NO WAY:

John Dory

Spruce

Clay

Floyd

would just go: “Yeah, let’s leave our baby brother in a tree that gets harvested as a snack.”

Absolutely not.

So that means there was a period of safety before everything went downhill.

👀So, Where Does KISMET Fit??

Now THIS is where it gets interesting. There is a VERY small window where:

👉 Branch is still singing 👉 BroZone is already gone 👉 Grandma is still alive

And I 100% believe this is where ✨KISMET happens ✨because KISMET wasn’t just random. They were the reason Branch tried again to:

connect

perform

belong

AFTER his brothers left.

😱 Then Everything Goes Wrong (as it always does)

Grandma Rosiepuff gets taken, Branch stops singing, turns grey and emotionally shuts down.

So the big question: what did KISMET do when that happened??

🤔 The Three Possibilities

They Didn’t Know:

KISMET could have:

been traveling

performing elsewhere

just… not there when it happened

Which means they come back like: “Hey Branch where...” and he’s just:

🧍 grey 🧍 bunker 🧍 emotionally unavailable

2. They Knew… and Didn’t Know How to Help:

They see:

Branch not singing anymore

Branch isolate

Branch changed completely

And they try to help, but he shuts them out. Which means KISMET didn’t leave him. They just… couldn’t reach him anymore.

3. They Stayed...:

This is my favorite. KISMET stayed in his life. Not loudly. Not in a “Let’s sing!” way.

But in a:

checking in

being around

not giving up on him

kind of way.

🚫The “Branch Wouldn’t Do That” Argument

Here’s why I don’t think Branch fully lost them: Branch knows what it feels like to be left. There is NO WAY he would turn around and go: “Yeah, I will now emotionally abandon my new group too, just like my brothers did to me.”

Even if he stopped singing… He wouldn’t repeat that cycle.

🥺 The Silent Support

KISMET became his quiet support system.

They:

respected his boundaries

didn’t force him to sing

didn’t leave him either

They just… stayed. In the background. Waiting. Meanwhile Branch is like: “I am fine. I need no one.”

And KISMET is like: “Okay. We’re still here, though.”

💭 Conclusion:

So while BroZone represents the family that left too soon. KISMET might represent the people who stayed… even when Branch couldn’t meet them halfway.

Which makes the whole thing 10x more emotional because now I’m imagining: KISMET watching Branch FINALLY sing again at the end of Movie 1 like: 😭 “HE’S BACK” 😭

DreamWorks.

I am once again asking for:

👉 LORE 👉 BACKSTORY 👉 AND EMOTIONAL CONTEXT

Because there is SO MUCH happening here.

I'm in a hyper-focused phase on ✨ KISMET ✨.

Wow, I really needed theories about them right now 🥹

But let's go: "What was Kismet doing?"

(My opinion on DreamWorks' silence)

What if this had happened before the BroZone and had blossomed in that short period of time? Branch lived in the tree, not as an excluded hermit, but as an ordinary troll. And that's the key word. Branch was about four years old in the first movie, old enough to go to daycare. And if we follow this line of reasoning...

The tree was a small space.

Probably everyone knew each other.

Branch frequented the place daily.

There were other babies in that place...

...and would it be a big surprise if a group of music-loving trolls approached the youngest brother of the BroZone? I think not 🫵

Their friendship may have started long before Branch's world turned upside down. What, honestly, adds more depth to everything.

But then everything starts to fall apart.

And Kismet is born.

They are Branch's support no matter what happens, and they're there when the BroZone is gone. Which makes me think about what their meeting would have been like right after Branch lost his siblings.

Branch's siblings were everything to him, the abandonment left deep scars, there's no ignoring that. And nothing will convince me that Branch didn't start to turn gray around that time. Something small that he himself didn't realize, but his friends did.

...

Going a little deeper into what the first time Branch lost his colors (not completely) would have been like. We would have three types of gray:

• More opaque colors: when the troll goes through a difficult and emotionally draining situation, causing their colors to become slightly grayish. Improving as the troll recovers.

• Gradually or in patches: the skin would slowly turn gray, the color being sucked from the fingertips or starting from the heart. (This is what Branch would have after losing his brothers)

• Gray: what we know best, where the troll completely loses his color.

(Ignore the uncreative names :))

...

But going back...

It was those boys who made him endure everything for so long, they gave him a place where he could breathe. A new stage where perfection wasn't the rule.

Until Grandma died... and that destroyed him.

I agree with you about Fate giving Branch space after seeing that his friend wasn't ready to open his heart so soon. It wasn't rejection, Branch simply didn't know how to handle all the support without feeling like he was putting himself at risk.

And that's where the first movie takes place.

And nothing will change my mind that Fate was also involved in this mess. And you know what they saw? That gray troll was like a brother regaining his colors.

After that, they didn't immediately become friends again; it was a slow process. But before long, Kismet (complete) was back on stage ✨

What supports my theory? Here it is:

• Poppy recognized the band at the end of the first movie, and if we had only seen the children's shows, that girl wouldn't have recognized those grown men.

• Branch knows how to contact them, and it seemed more like a casual reunion than the first time they'd seen each other in years.

It's not much, but I have my arguments 😅

I love to think that they were by Branch's side during the movies. Silently, not only because that's what Branch needed at that moment, but also to avoid drawing attention, since, well, they were famous.

Branch was probably on stage using a secret identity or some kind of disguise.
