Today's Seals Are: Huh? Do You Want Me To Like, Post Gay Seals? What?
YOU don’t have to be perfect to be loved. but I do
Here is an article from NPR about it (May 22, 2026):
Carolina Milanesi, an independent technology analyst, said Google is trying to make its cash cow business — search — richer and more personalized, and it will make shopping easier. But there is a risk that users may have fewer choices about what to click. "Right now it's: I ask a question, I get a bunch of answers and I feel that I'm in control as to which answer I take, or if I'm looking for something, which product I'm going to end up buying. That is going to be less so going forward," she said. Milanesi envisions AI-enabled search and agents proposing products to consumers — perhaps even those they have requested — but with less clarity or choice around where it's coming from. "If you're going to say: 'I want a pair of Jordans, go find them,' you're not necessarily sure what steps have been taken and whether the AI has used a source or a store that was paid for and therefore came up in the search results," she said, "or if AI actually went and did their due diligence and picked the best for me as a customer."
And here's one from Time magazine (May 20, 2026):
While Google already has “AI Mode,” the company will now power the whole search bar through its new Gemini 3.5 Flash model. Instead of the classic list of blue links, Google Search will now also generate a custom page with an AI-generated summary of what you’re searching about, which will then trigger a conversation with AI Mode on the main page, allowing users to ask follow-up questions—similar to the kind of layout you would see when opening ChatGPT.
And a little more from Time's article on how this may affect the websites that we are trying to search for:
When Google first started implementing AI-assisted results, news publishers warned of “catastrophic” impacts on the industry, much of which relies on Google search to drive users to their websites. Last year, news websites saw significant traffic declines as chatbots increasingly replaced Google search as the primary way to find sites and ask questions. Small businesses also noted drops in traffic to their sites from Google, which has traditionally delivered customers. Lily Ray, vice president of SEO strategy & research at Amsive, a digital marketing agency, warned as early as last year that Google’s planned changes to search are “going to have a devastating impact on the Internet.” “It will severely cut into the main source of revenue for most publishers and it will disincentivize content creators who rely on organic search traffic, which is millions of websites, maybe more,” she told Technology Magazine.
Heh Fine so it’s time to stop using it completely. I hope were all serious though and they will face a decrease of use of their search at least the size of this post’s note count?
Stop. Using. It.
And that's how our freedom of knowledge will start to get filtered

it’s funny how we’re getting to the point in the AI lifespan where you can feel the desperation from tech companies to have you use their AI features. instagram has moved their AI effects to the top of the menu when you’re creating a post for your story, exactly where the draw/edit button used to be. gmail is creating one-click AI-generated replies right before you open up the text box. spotify put a beta AI playlist generator on the front page that looks just like a search bar so all of their users accidentally click on it when they go to search for a song.
tech companies are shaking in their boots trying to prove to shareholders that their investment in AI is worth it, to the point where they’re tricking their users into using the AI features even for a split second in order to fudge the numbers. like awww is your little environment-destroying toy not wielding the results you hoped for? so sad!
I also hate how a lot of companies are using AI when they don't need to.
How there's so many ads about apps that say "we have AI included" as if that will bring more users?????
I'm so tired of AI being on everything when it wasn't necessary
when you reblog a post because you think a specific mutual would enjoy it and then they reblog it from you

"Born of the Broken" by Michael Aguw
In your 20s, you'll feel like you're losing the race. It's important to understand that there is no race.
Hi.
Recently I've read the book 1984. If you haven't read it it's about the world but the government is all over the people and controls everything clothing's, their feelings, how they speak, how they live, the statuses. There's a war going on and we have our protagonist that is starting to question the government.
The book touches a bit of strong subjects but mostly talks about the government and how it controls the people which also relates to how society is right now.
To be honest the book was good but I was expecting so much more from it so I got inspired to write my own book. Or a story. I don't know. I might upload some "demos"? I don't know the right name, but I'll upload about it if you want to read it
(also I'm not saying 1984 is a bad book. It was good)
Yeah, without giving any spoilers I will say that the book definitely leaves you wanting more (and that's probably on purpose).
Personally I think the best 1984 experience is: read book -> sit with the ending for a bit -> watch V for Vendetta. That really scratched that itch for me.
(Also have you already read "Brave New World"? If so I'd love to hear your thougths. A very different approach to controlling the masses but a similar result overall, very interesting)
OH I LOVE V FOR VENDETTA. I love V so much 😞. I have to see it again now that you mention it.
To be honest it's the first time I hear about Brave New World but it sounds interesting for what I found on the internet. I'll write it down on my " to read list" thanks for mentioning it 🙂↕️ what's your opinion on it?
And also Farenheit, I've been searching for it all over the libraries we have but I cannot find it. I'm so sad 😞
I don't want to spoil you too much, so all I'll say is that if 1984 shows you an obvious dystopia, Brave new World is a dystopia masquerading as a utopia (to the point where one of my professors actually argued that it was, technically, a utopia).
I read both books when I was perhaps a bit too young to fully understand them (1984 in middle school and BNW shortly after), but the first made me weary of the people in power and the second one made me question the ways in which I had already been primed to accept the status quo.
Both are imperfect books, but they force us to ask questions about our own society and our role in it.
Oh god, ok it does sound good. I'll be searching for it!! .
I also find it really amusing? I think how people like schools for example always get you to read something cause it's a classic or it's important and ends up making the book annoying to the students. Cause it depends on the audience and it's something that they don't tell you.
When I was in middle school my teacher made us read metamorphosis and I liked the miserable feeling when reading it but most of my classroom got bored.
Thankfully 1984 was just like on my list cause it talked about the government and I'm starting to question that with all that's been happening and the posters I made and all.
