This is a manipulation tactic that men use to make it such a pain in the ass to set a boundary with them that you don’t attempt it again
^What they said. Don’t give them an inch. They have absolutely no idea what to do once this tactic doesn’t work.
“Ok fine I’ll just never speak again.”
“Good deal. You should never speak ever.”
“Well hey, if you’re volunteering-”
Although I agree wholeheartedly with this approach, … (and I know this is tumblr, but,) …
I gotta take issue with why this is taking a biased stance against a certain sex, when this is obviously a trait that manipulative people use, regardless of sex and/or gender roles.
I mean, take the entire post an replace the word(s) “men”/“man” with non-gender-specific terms, like “people”, “humans”, or “earthlings”, and it still works!
And now, there’s an even wider net of people that would potentially agree with you, and we could all, collectively, look at those manipulative people, and scoff at them - together!
/end tumblr rant.

Here’s the link to all of the free online classes offered by Harvard:

But TBH I prefer the MIT Open Coursewear approach. Feel like taking a class on the policy and economics of nuclear engineering? MIT’s got you covered:
https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/find-by-topic/#cat=engineering&subcat=nuclearengineering&spec=nuclearsystemspolicyandeconomics
In fact they’ve got you covered with A LOT of their courses, everything from fine arts to immunology.
Have fun :)
For future reference, …if I ever decide to do something with my life.
you know what to do.
There is no such thing as a natural death: nothing that ever happens to a man is ever natural, since his presence calls the world into question. All men must die: but for every man his death is an accident, and, even if he knows it and consents to it, an unjustifiable violation.

Black is the colour of womb and tomb; we meet at night on the dark of the moon. White is the colour of bone and ash; to speak to the dead we bathe and fast. Red is the colour of blood and death; we rub the bones and give them breath.

To my dear little brother, and little sister, wherever you are, we'll always have this song. These memories.
I'm just sitting here, as I do most nights, surfing the usual handful of websites, listening to pandora, when this song queues up.
Suddenly, I am taken back, in a somber, almost more-heartbreaking-than-melancholie feeling comes over me. The stark realization arises, that we can never return to what we once were.
As of late, I'm finding it pretty damn difficult to deal with the feelings that come with growing up, more than the actual act of growing up, itself. It's taking more of a toll on me than I thought it would...
I miss those late nights, wasted watching tv, together. Listening to music on the radio, laughing, and talking about whatever it was that was huge in our lives, in that moment.
There will always be those shows, movies, books, video games, music, and other media, that were our soundtrack, and videography of our lives. Whether you equate it to youth, or growing up, or just family, I will always relate those things to my unrelenting love for the two of you.
This is one of those things. This is a moment, ...a little over six minutes, frozen in time.
For this reason, I will always enjoy finding these little gems throughout my life, like little breadcrumbs, tracing back to my childhood. I will revisit them every now and then, and for that instant, we will be together, if not in proximity, in spirit.
Hundreds gathered in front of a mosque to say “F*** Islam” in Phoenix, Arizona, nearly a month after a shooting at a Prophet Muhammad caricature contest in Texas. The group was met by an equal number of counter-protesters defending freedom of faith.
I feel as though these people that came out here armed, outside of a mosque, a place of worship, is completely disrespectful. This is on U.S. soil, they're U.S. citizens, they have the right of freedom of speech, freedom of spirituality, and I think that [this rally] is disgraceful. This is not the American way, this is not the American Dream.
-- U.S. Veteran, Stephen Saul
This is a perfect example of the type of shit that really makes me hate this state.
One example of an officer killing an innocent person, showing no remorse, does not prove all cops are heartless, racist bigots.
One example of an officer killing an innocent person, showing remorse, does not prove there aren't cops that are heartless, racist bigots.
When the number of racially motivated crimes, (perpetrated by the same officers that swore to protect the public,) outnumber the good actions by decent officers, something needs to change.
That being said, there is a lot of good out there, but for all the good out there, there is also a lot of bad.
The thing that some people often forget with social commentary, and racial narratives on this level, is most of the time there isn't a clear line to define the good from the bad.
