Chapter 120 - Stand Beside Me
Agh, stupid, stupid, stupid NAT! What were you thinking? Zack will definitely kill me!
Princess Natalia pressed both hands against her burning face, scolding herself internally as frustration carved through her chest. Her reflection stared back from the ornate mirror with flushed cheeks. Anger mixed with embarrassment painted her features in shades of crimson she couldn't hide.
"Umm, Princess, are you okay?" Maid Emmy's voice floated softly from behind her. Her hands worked through Natalia's medium long hair with gentle strokes, the comb gliding smoothly. They were alone in the preparation chamber, surrounded by the quiet before the storm of political maneuvering that awaited.
"Ah, yes, I'm fine," Natalia exhaled deeply but her reflection told a different story entirely. "Is there any news about them? Where is Zack? What about the others?" Each question sharpened her voice further. Annoyance crept up her throat. "And where is that brat!!!! Where my stupid little sister RAN OFF TOOO!!!?"
Natalia grumbled while staring at her reddened face. Her fingers fidgeted with the ornaments scattered across the table, unable to settle.
"No, I didn't hear anything," Emmy replied in her usual emotionless voice. "And about Little Princess... Alfie said she's not feeling well, so she stayed back."
"What? Not feeling well? She was perfectly okay when we came to 1st rock!!" Natalia's frustration bubbled over. She sighed again, heavier this time. "Oliver must know something. He didn't tell you anything?"
She reached for her ornaments with sharp movements. Each gesture spoke of irritation she couldn't quite contain.
"Ah! No, I didn't get a chance to talk to him much," Maid Emmy spoke with defeat weighing down her words.
"Hmm, what happened? Did you guys fight or what?" Natalia glanced at Emmy through the mirror's reflection. "Did Oliver flirt with another woman again? Even though he's my friend, that habit of his is quite annoying." She paused, then added with casual cruelty, "Well, anyways, I don't think you guys are really suitable for each other."
The words dropped between them like stones thrown into still water.
Maid Emmy's hand stopped moving. Her palm clenched tight around the comb handle until her knuckles went white. "Why... why do you say something like that?" Her voice carried anger that trembled beneath the surface.
"What? Am I wrong?" Natalia continued, completely missing the shift in Emmy's demeanor. "Today, coming here and talking and seeing these people, I realized something…… I was way too comfortable with others." Her voice hardened with each word, growing more defensive. "Here, they're eyeing me like hungry beasts. One mistake and they'll instantly be ready to throw me out from this race to the throne. Which I worked hard to reach here, and now that I'm here, I feel like I was doing nothing all my life."
She gripped the table's edge. Her knuckles matched Emmy's in whiteness. "And now no one is present to support me. I know they must be busy finding out stuff, but at least some of them could have come." Her voice cracked slightly, betraying vulnerability she tried to hide. "If only Zack could come, I would be happy, BUT NO!!! HE WAS BUSY ENJOYING WITH OTHER WOMEN IN A FUCKING CAVE OR WHATEVER!!!! TSK!"
As her words kept getting out, her anger builts up into something she couldn't control. "The more I think about those filthy women, the more annoyed I become."
Princess Natalia twisted in her seat. She glanced back at Emmy with fire burning in her eyes. "I also realized that choosing a partner has to be in balance……. Imagine you getting married to Oliver…..who will probably be successful in future. He's already adept in the Circle of Crowns. No one really hates him, and he's women's favorite. The only problem is his money, which is less compared to others, and soon that will also be achieved."
She leaned forward. Her tone turned harsh, each word cutting like a blade. "But you……a woman who served Crowns your whole life…..can you really stand with him side by side and look eye to eye with other Crowns? Can you do it, Emmy? Stand in front of me and talk to me like an equal? Stand in front of Queen Mother and speak with confidence, telling her that you are nearly as equal as her?"
The room fell into silence. The weight of those words pressed down on both of them.
Maid Emmy's body shook. The trembling started in her hands and spread through her entire frame. Tears filled her eyes as she slowly shook her head, unable to form words through the tightness in her throat.
Princess Natalia's expression shifted slightly. She calmed herself down and reached out to hold Emmy's trembling hand. "Please don't hate me for saying this, but Oliver my friend, he is handsome, smart, ambitious…..And you have little ones with you. You have your own life to live. You won't be able to be with him. You can't support him."
"AGH!" Maid Emmy's tears spilled down her cheeks in hot streams. She looked into Natalia's eyes with anger that burned everything else away. Her voice rose, sharp as a broken glass. "IS THAT WHY YOU'RE CHEATING ON ZACK? DO YOU FEEL HE CAN ONLY BE JUST LIKE BIG GUY OUT THERE AT THE DOOR!!! SOMEONE WHO CAN ONLY PROTECT YOU FROM YOUR ENEMIES? AND ONLY PEOPLE LIKE LITTLE MAN CAN BE WORTHY OF YOU, A PRINCESS OF THE CITY OF EIRS?"
Her voice grew louder with each word. More defiant. Her eyes blazed with rage she'd been holding back for too long. Natalia hearing this also got angry, her mind was a mess of emotions and her coming in terms with many things today made her quite irritated so her words accompanied that feeling.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M CHEATING?!" Natalia shot up from her seat. Her own anger exploded outward. "I DIDN'T CHEAT! I HAVEN'T ACCEPTED LITTLE MAN! JUST BECAUSE I SPEND SOME TIME WITH OTHER MEN, IT COUNTS AS CHEATINGGG????!"
She stepped closer until they were nearly nose to nose. Her voice rose to a roar that filled the chamber. "THEN WHAT ABOUT THAT BROTHER OF YOURS???! WHO TOUCHED SOME OTHER WOMAN'S NAKED ASS, ENJOYING HIS ALONE TIME WITH THEM?! AND THEY EVEN ANNOUNCED ZACK TO BE THEIRS AT THAT TIME IN FRONT OF MY FUCKING FACE! WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING TO HIM BACK THEN?!"
Natalia's chest heaved with fury. Her words poured out like water breaking through a dam. "AND IS IT FALSE?! DID ZACK STUDY LIKE I DID?! DID HE LEARN ALL THE SKILLS LIKE I DID?! CAN HE WALK HERE CONFIDENTLY AND PLEASE THESE GREEDY PEOPLE?! HOW CAN HE STAND BESIDE ME?!"
Her voice cracked with the weight of everything she'd been carrying. Frustration, confusion, fear, all of it spilled out at once in a torrent she couldn't stop.
Emmy clenched her fists so tightly her nails dug crescents into her palms. She shouted back with her voice trembling from rage. "I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE SASHA IS THERE FOR HIM! AND ZACK IS SMART ENOUGH TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HIM GETTING DRUNK IN HIS LUST OR TRULY DOING SOMETHING TO ACHIEVE HIS GOALS!"
Tears streamed down her face in an endless flow. Her voice broke with each word. "I KNOW MY BROTHER! AGHH SNIFFF … HE'S NOT THAT KIND OF MAN! IT'S YOU WHO THINKS YOU'RE HIGHER THAN HIM IN TERMS OF LOVING HIM!!!!.... YOU THINK ZACK'S LOVE IS NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR YOUR DEDICATION OVER THE YEARS! WHETHER HE CAN DO THINGS BY STAYING BESIDE YOU OR NOT IS NOT THE POINT OF LOVE! STOP COMPARING HIM LIKE SOME USEFUL TOOL!"
Maid Emmy breathed hard. She ground her teeth together with such force her jaw ached. Her entire body shook with the intensity of her emotions.
"I KNOW HOW MUCH ZACK LOVES ME OVER THE YEARS! AGHH!!" Natalia fired back…
"YES, BUT CAN YOU REALLY FEEL IT?!" Emmy's eyes blazed as she smirked bitterly through her tears. "YOU HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IT, SO YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IT! AM I RIGHT?!"
"Grr!" Natalia was fuming. Her face had turned completely red from rage. "WHY ARE YOU LAUGHING?! DO YOU THINK MY EARS ARE CLOSED OR WHAT?! PFFT! NOT EVEN KNOWING OLIVER'S NAME UNTIL RECENTLY! HAHAHA!"
Her laughter came out cruel in ears of Emmy. "OLIVER MUST BE SO DISAPPOINTED THAT THE WOMAN HE FELL HEAD OVER HEELS FOR DIDN'T BAT AN EYE AT HIM FOR ALL THESE YEARS! WELL, WHATEVER HAPPENED WAS GOOD! A WOMAN WHO CAN'T GET OUT OF HER OWN MIND WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO LIVE WITH HIM!!!!"
Natalia stepped even closer, invading Emmy's space. Her smirk turned vicious. "YOU MUST HAVE CURSED HIM NON-STOP IN YOUR BRAIN, RIGHT?! HAHA! OLIVER IS STUPID TO THINK YOU EVEN HAD THE SLIGHTEST INTEREST IN HIM! YOU WHO DOESN'T EVEN KNOW BASIC THINGS ABOUT HIM! YOU'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO STAND BESIDE HIM!"
Emmy's whole body shook violently. Her anger reached a peak she'd never experienced before. Her voice rose to a scream. "WHAT'S WITH THIS 'STAND BESIDE ME, STAND BESIDE ME' YOU KEEP GOING ON ABOUT?!!!!! AREN'T YOU ALL OVER THE MOON BECAUSE YOU BECAME A PRINCESS?!"
Her words came out razor-sharp. "TRUTHFULLY, I DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU'RE DOING! YOU'RE CLEARLY FAVORING THE UPPER ECHELONS AND GIVING FALSE HOPE TO NORMAL PEOPLE! SOONER OR LATER, PEOPLE WILL START HATING YOU!"
She took a shuddering breath. Her voice broke with the pain of what she had to say. "YOUR FRIEND IS GREAT? FINE! HE'S WORTHY OF STANDING BESIDE YOU?! THEN GO ACCEPT HIM AS YOUR HUSBAND! BUT DON'T THINK FOR A SINGLE MINUTE….. THAT I WILL GIVE MY BROTHER TO YOU!"
…….TSKKK!!!!
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING A PRINCESS!!! YOU WHO NEVER DONE ANYTHING EXCEPT CLEANING AND COOKING?!" Natalia roared back. Her eyes had gone wild with fury. "AND WHO ARE YOU TO ALLOW HIM TO GIVE TO ME OR NOT?! I'M DOING JUST FINE! I'M PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE, NOT PLAYING A HERO FOR EVERYONE!"
Her voice grew colder and colder…... "EVERYONE IS EQUALLY IMPORTANT IN THIS CITY, AND I PLAN TO SERVE THEM WITH ALL MY HEART! THAT'S MY AMBITION! THAT'S MY GOAL! AND TO ACHIEVE THAT, EVEN IF I HAVE TO ACCEPT LITTLE MAN, I WILL ACCEPT HIM! AND ZACK ALREADY SAID I CAN DO THAT!"
She stepped forward until their faces were mere inches apart. Her breath came in angry gasps. "I DID SAY THAT I WILL ONLY LOVE HIM, BUT SITUATIONS AND FEELINGS CHANGE! I'M SURE HE WILL UNDERSTAND! I'M NOT LIKE HIM….. TSK!!.....PLAYING AROUND WITH SOME FILTHY WOMEN! I WANT MY LIFE TO BE BALANCED! NOT LIKE YOU, WHO CAN'T EVEN LOOK STRAIGHT AT OTHER PEOPLE AND JUST TALKS IN HER MIND, NOT KNOWING WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON AROUND YOU!"
Natalia's eyes burned with fury as she got right up in Emmy's face. Their anger filled the room until there was no space left for anything else.
Emmy, trembling with rage, threw the comb away. It clattered across the floor. Then both gave themselves some space and then both suddenly raised their hands, ready to strike…
THUMP!
"STOP, BIG SISTERS!"
Big Guy burst through the door. His deep voice boomed through the room, shaking the very walls. The two women froze mid-motion, both breathing hard, their hands still raised in the air. Their eyes remained locked in mutual fury.
Hearing Big Guy's shout, they both stopped. They glared at each other with burning anger that refused to die down.
"Give up, Emmy," Natalia said coldly. Her voice cut through the tension. "Oliver is just playing around with you, and you know that. He's had many women in his life, you're just one of them. He'll forget about you tomorrow. Get a life for yourself."
She spoke the last sentence with finality. She turned around sharply, refusing to look at Emmy anymore.
"AGH!" Emmy's eyes filled with fresh tears. She turned away and started to run…
"ACK!" But Big Guy stepped in front of her, gently stopping her escape.
"Big Sister!" He spoke softly despite his massive frame. His large hands gently held her arms.
"Big Guy..." Emmy's voice broke into pieces. She pressed her head against his broad chest and started crying. "SOBB... SOBB... ACCKK..."
Big Guy just let her cry. His massive hand patted her back with gentleness, trying to calm her down with quiet comfort that asked for nothing in return.
Natalia glanced back at them. Seeing this scene, she ground her teeth together. She clenched her arms tightly against her body. Her own eyes began to sting with unshed tears.
Emmy cried softly for a while. Her body shook with each sob that tore through her. Finally, with a voice made ragged from crying, she pulled back slightly. "I know... I'll stay with her. Don't worry."
She cleaned her tear-stained face with her hands. She smiled sadly despite the pain. She patted Big Guy's stomach affectionately. Then she turned around, picking up the comb from where she'd thrown it moments before.
"Sit," she spoke softly. Her voice barely rose above a whisper.
Natalia didn't say anything. She just sat down. Her jaw remained tight. Her eyes fixed ahead on nothing in particular.
Both remained silent as Emmy resumed her duty. The comb moved through Natalia's hair with mechanical precision. The tension in the room pressed down on them, suffocating in its intensity. Neither spoke a word.
Big Guy quietly went outside. He closed the door behind him with a soft click that seemed too loud in the aftermath.
.
.
"Even her servant maid is quite outrageous, don't you think? Princess Natalia needs to surround herself with better people."
Little Man stood casually against the wall beside the door. His arms were crossed over his chest. A knowing smirk played across his face.
"Hmm, you... I don't like you," Big Guy spoke in a blunt flat tone. He didn't even bother looking at Little Man.
"Why? Because I care for Natalia more than that Zack?" Little Man's smirk widened. His tone dripped with amusement.
Big Guy shook his head slowly. "No. Because you care too much about Big Sister Natalia."
He stopped speaking. He didn't bother with Little Man anymore, standing as an immovable wall on one side of the door.
"Umm, I think that's good," Little Man said with a chuckle. He closed his eyes and settled into position on the other side.
.
.
After some time passed, Emmy came outside. She nodded at Big Guy without saying a word. She walked away with her shoulders hunched forward. Her steps carried the weight of everything that had happened.
Little Man opened his eyes. He went inside. He found Princess Natalia standing near a window, staring down at the crowd of people packed tightly below in the closed area. Her reflection in the glass looked tired. Her eyes had gone distant.
"You'll scare people away if you make that face," he said with a gentle smile as he approached her.
"Sorry, I didn't realize," Natalia sighed heavily. She turned to him with a sad smile that didn't reach her eyes. "It's just... a hectic day, that's all."
"Hmmm, don't think too much about it," Little Man said softly as he came closer. He reached out to hold her hands. "Just focus on what's coming. You can't get distracted."
"Thank you for being with me always," Natalia smiled warmly. She allowed him to hold her hands without resistance. Genuine gratitude shone in her eyes for the first time that day.
"Sure, why not? I'm happy to be with you... ALWAYS!" Little Man smirked playfully. His voice carried a hint of something deeper than friendship.
"Hey, don't misinterpret!" Natalia pouted, pulling her hands back slightly without fully releasing his hold.
"Hahaha! This look is fine, people won't even complain if you make this face," Little Man teased. He poked her pouted cheeks affectionately.
"Agh! You suddenly changed, my friend," Natalia said with embarrassment coloring her cheeks. She walked ahead to escape his teasing.
"I was always this way. You're only seeing me now," Little Man said as he guided her by stepping ahead. He turned back to face her. His expression grew serious. "Focus on your goals. You're a princess! You're no longer a little kid. Be confident. Be clear in your words. Be strong. Don't mess your mind with all the noise. Your eyes should be on your goal."
Princess Natalia suddenly felt a wave of calm wash over her troubled mind. She breathed out a deep breath. She felt her focus sharpen as she walked behind Little Man's tall figure. His confidence seemed to transfer to her with each step.
.
.
As they arrived at the center of the meeting hall, Natalia spoke pleasantries in a cheerful manner. Her voice was noticeably tougher than before. More confident. It was as if her mind had finally clicked back into place after being scattered.
The back-and-forth questions and answers began. This time again, Princess Natalia stood tall with her shoulders back. Her gaze remained steady on each person who addressed her. Her voice carried unwavering strength.
She was ready for another round.

Chapter 119 - Almost
"Natalia, you're here early. The people here are still gathering. Why not take a rest for a while?" 4th Rock Leader Remek spoke while meeting Natalia at front entrance, his expression welcoming as he approached.
"Okay, Uncle." Natalia simply nodded as her friends followed behind her, with Maid Emmy and Big Guy at the very back of their group.
"Hmm… where are those expert guards, and Little Princess? And that brat Alfie?" Leader Remek asked, nodding toward Big Guy and Emmy. Both bowed respectfully in response to his acknowledgment.
"Ah! I sent those guards away, and I don't know where the two of them went." Princess Natalia said as she turned and began walking inside, her tone dismissive and unconcerned to his question. "Let them be. They're not useful to me anyway."
Leader Remek didn't say anything in response. He just looked at her back for a while, his expression thoughtful, then turned and said to Big Guy quietly, "It seems something happened…… I'll give you some of my people and some to Queen Guard Leader. Include them in your ranks for today. And Blake, take care of her."
PAT! PAT!
He patted Big Guy's shoulder firmly with his trust, then patted Emmy's head gently with affection. "Keep up the good work!"
He smiled at them warmly before walking away, his footsteps echoing down the corridor as he disappeared around the corner.
.
.
"KKKYAAAA!! Seeing Leader Remek up close makes my heart flutter! He's so handsome!" The 3rd female friend of Princess Natalia spoke in delight as they entered a prepared room, her eyes sparkling with admiration.
"EEWW! He's already an old man! You're his granddaughter's age! Have some shame!" The 2nd male friend spoke, making a disgusted face and sticking out his tongue in exaggerated revulsion.
"True." The 2nd female friend just nodded in agreement with a knowing look.
"Shut up, you guys! I'm just saying!" The 3rd female friend countered back defensively, crossing her arms. "Better than seeing your stupid face every day!"
"Sighhh."
"I'm going to freshen up." The 2nd female friend said as she started walking toward the door.
"Me too."
"Me three."
Everyone left the room except Little Man and Princess Natalia.
.
.
"Haahaa, maybe I should also go." Princess Natalia said with embarrassment coloring her voice, standing up quickly from her seat.
But…..TAP!...... Little Man held her hand gently and said, "Don't run away. I'm not going to eat you. Just relax. If you run away, it will make me feel bad."
Little Man gently pulled her back and made her sit beside him, close enough that their arms almost touched, the proximity sending awareness through her nerves.
"Ah! Sorry, I didn't mean to!" Princess Natalia said, flustered, fidgeting with her fingers nervously. "Sorry, it's just so much has been happening, and you even proposed to me in front of everyone. My mind isn't being able to keep up with everything. Listen, Little Man, as a friend, I…."
THP!
Little Man didn't let her finish speaking. He put his hand gently over her lips as he got closer to her, leaning in. He looked into her eyes with intensity burning in his gaze.
Princess Natalia, surprised by the sudden movement, turned to her left and looked at him. Their faces were now only inches apart, close enough to share breath.
"A long time ago, I decided I would propose to you once your dream came true." Little Man began, his voice soft yet steady with conviction. "I know you have feelings for that Zack guy…... Do you think I'm blind? Whenever you see him at school, your eyes shine brighter than anything else in the world."
He exhaled slowly, the breath washing over her face. "I was always jealous of that, but I don't want to give up on you."
He paused, his gaze never leaving hers, unwavering with every hint Natalia gave to him to stay away.
"One thing I was happy about was that he couldn't spend as much time with you as I have. We were together for so many years in school, every single day for a long time. We laughed together, worked together, learned together, shared everything together." His voice dropped lower. "Natalia, I fell for you so long ago that I don't even remember when it started. Please respect my feelings and at least don't say those things that push me away."
Little Man spoke softly with warmth radiating from his eyes, pouring into her. He gently put his hand aside but let his fingers graze her cheek as he moved away, the touch feather-light and lingering on her skin.
Natalia, listening to the heartfelt confession, felt her face grow hot and red with rushing blood.
"What?!" Natalia exclaimed, her voice rising before she could stop herself. "You already knew about Zack, and you still did this? And you've loved me for that long?!"
She turned away quickly, cheeks burning with heat, trying to mask her embarrassment with indignation. "That's ridiculous… reckless, even." Her hands clenched at her sides before slowly relaxing as reality sank in.
"But…" she hesitated, her voice lowering to something more vulnerable. "I can understand what it's like to love someone for so long without being able to say it." She took a steady breath and faced him again, meeting his eyes.
"Fine." Natalia said, her tone firmer, more controlled now. "I won't laugh at you, and I won't trample on your feelings. I'll respect them."
Princess Natalia turned to face straight ahead, trying to calm herself down, her heart hammering wildly in her chest. Little Man touched her hair gently, running his fingers through a free strand with reverence, then brought his hand away slowly.
For a while, both sat in silence beside each other, the air between them charged with unspoken emotions that pressed against the space.
.
"So, are you together with Zack?" Little Man asked, breaking the heavy silence.
"Ah, yes. I'm sorry I lied before." Princess Natalia said as she bowed slightly in apology, her voice sincere with regret.
"Ah, don't worry. I understand your position." Little Man said with a gentle smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "You don't want rumors spreading that you're already taken. For now, you have more support than before. You did great at building that image." His smile softened, though a faint sadness lingered beneath the surface. "I'm proud of you."
"Thank you, Little Man." Princess Natalia replied, smiling sincerely in return. Then she tilted her head, brows knitting together in confusion. "But why did you propose to me then? My mind went completely crazy, you know!"
She protested cutely, puffing her cheeks and pouting just a little in that way that made his heart skip.
"Haha, why not?" Little Man grinned with mischief dancing in his expression. "That was your dream coming true, right? I wanted to be part of it, and I wanted to make it memorable for you." He leaned closer, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Also… it was safer for me. If you slapped me outright in anger, at least I'd be protected by the crowd watching."
"Hehe." His laugh turned playful, his eyes glinting with teasing menace.
"You!!!! You're no good." Princess Natalia said while smirking. "Maybe you're playing a long game to get to me and bring your house to prosperity through marriage."
"Oh my, such accusations! Then at least praise me for being so patient all these years." Little Man sighed dramatically, placing a hand over his heart. "Actually, I wanted to propose to you many times before, but seeing your determination to reach your goals, I stopped myself. I didn't want to be a roadblock for you. I only know how much you wanted to be a princess and serve this city. I don't think any other person can see your determination as clearly as I do."
He paused, his expression becoming more serious.
"And I'm sure many people must have told you to be content with what you've achieved and told you to be happy with whatever you have, right?"
Little Man's words made Princess Natalia's eyes shine with recognition. She nodded heavily, feeling understood for perhaps the first time in her life, because even though everyone supported her there was always a hint of that it was okay, don’t worry too much, even Zack said that to her!! But she don’t want to have any other path for herself, she want to be a Queen in future and for that she had worked hard a lot all these years…… And hearing stuff like it’s okay and all hurt her a little, but she didn’t spoke out loud.
Seeing this reaction, Little Man smiled knowingly. "I know." He said softly with understanding. "People with high goals and ambition are rarely understood, no matter how close others are to them. Only those who carry similar ambitions can truly see it in each other."
He smirked, confidence flickering in his eyes.
"Then how can you see that in me?" Princess Natalia asked, curiosity burning warmly in her chest. "What is your ambition, Little Man?" Her heart beat a little faster, waiting for his answer.
"Hmm… do you really want to know?" Little Man smiled, his handsome features illuminated by the sunlight streaming through the window. The light danced across his face as he leaned forward.
Natalia stared at him, momentarily dazed by the sight, then nodded slowly, unable to look away from him.
He stepped closer, his lips nearing her ear. His warm breath sent a shiver racing through her as he whispered, his voice smooth as silk.
"To see Natalia sitting upon that throne, guiding this city to greater heights, filling it with love, prosperity, and strength. To make its name echo far beyond these walls, known throughout the world."
He paused, his voice lowering, becoming more intimate.
"And beside her… a man who helped her rise. Someone who stands proudly at her side, smiling at her achievements, smiling at her as she rules over everything."
His breath lingered against her ear, making her skin tingle.
"This little man wants to be beside that princess."
He slowly pulled back, giving her space to breathe, his gaze sincere, each word he spoke was from bottom of his heart.
"Will you let me stand beside you, Natalia?"
Princess Natalia's eyes grew slightly watery hearing his words, she never in her dreamt thought her friend who stayed beside her all these years was having such huge ambition!! And also, he wants her to be????
GULP……..
Their breaths brushing against each other, mingling in the narrow space between them. The world seemed to shrink to that single moment suspended in time.
"Why are you so crazy about me?" She asked in a hushed voice that barely carried through the air. Her hand clenched the cushion beneath her, gripping it tightly until her knuckles turned white.
"Why not?" He replied, confidence ringing clearly in his voice. His gaze never wavered from hers. "Aren't you the finest woman in this city? Why shouldn't a man love you with everything he has?"
"But I… I…" Her voice faltered, breaking. "I can't. Zack….he… I already……"
"Shhhhhhsssssss."
Little Man gently placed his index finger over her lips again!! silencing her words before they could fully form. His thumb brushed lightly along her chin, tilting her face toward him just enough to meet his eyes. The touch was careful, asking rather than demanding.
He paused for a moment, letting the silence stretch before continuing.
"I heard those women were playing around with Zack, right?...... If Zack can play around with other women while loving you, why not the princess, the future queen, the one who has everything at her fingertips???...... Just choose a man who loves you dearly, who wants everything best for you, who has been beside her for so long that he knows everything about her? Why can't you accept the love of a man who can give everything away just to stay with you?"
He paused, making sure she was listening, his eyes searching for the recognition he wanted on her face.
"Please don't get me wrong. I know Zack loves you deeply, but he lacks many things you need." His voice dropped lower, more intimate. "He can be a savior of yours, but he can't stand beside you as an equal. He can't guide you through the politics. He can't help you bring this city to a more prosperous position. He didn't train in the things which you and I did together. I worked hard for you all these years just to be with you, just to stand beside you as your partner."
Little Man's voice grew more passionate, more intense, his breath warming the air between them.
"Natalia, you deserve more in this life. You're capable of great things that others can't even imagine. They'll just send you away if nothing works, but if you stay with me, then you can have a chance again if everything falls apart. I know it's hard to accept, but you do have to choose another man in the future. You do know that, right???........ This city is under a huge empire that can, with a snap of fingers, throw you away if you have no support backing you. I'm sure Zack also knows it. I've talked with him before, and he must have known about the people who are secretly trying to win you over. Despite all this, he still chose you. I respect him truly for that courage, but the reality remains, Natalia…….. Your mother married your father who was a higher Crown under Empire, hence this city had breathing time for years, but the situation has somehow changed now. Everyone's trying to remove you from the queen candidate list. If you don't have support, then it's practically impossible to rule this city."
He took a breath, his intensity building with each word. "I'm not trying to scare you or blackmail you. I'm just trying to explain it to you honestly……. Natalia, we've known each other for many years, and you also know about me…. Well almost everything. I'll never hurt you or try to backstab you. We've been friends for so long, but I can't wait any longer for you. Zack and you are good together, I don't have any complaint about that but…… but he can't let you fly to the heights you deserve. Only I can help you with that."
He leaned even closer, his started speaking in whispers, his breath ghosting across her lips.
"I can't let him take you away to mediocrity. I want you to be queen. I want you to be MY QUEEN!"
Little Man spoke all this as he got even closer and removed his index finger from her lips slowly, letting it trail down just slightly along her skin. Since his height was much taller, he bent down his neck and brought his lips dangerously close to Princess Natalia's, so close she could feel the heat radiating from him in waves.
She felt so shocked. Each and every word had hit her heart with force, making it race wildly. Her eyes glittered with some shine as she asked slowly, her voice barely audible, "You love me that much?"
Little Man smiled warmly and grabbed her hand gently, placing it above his heart area.
BA DUM BA DUM
Natalia felt his heart beating very fast, pounding against her palm as if it wanted to break free from his chest.
She couldn't resist. She saw a handsome man's face confessing his inner feelings so blatantly, so openly in front of her. She couldn't believe this was happening. Her eyes kept looking at his face as it got dangerously close, her breath catching in her throat, her chest tightening with emotion.
"But I can't suddenly look at you as a man, I... I..."
SHEESSHH.
Natalia's eyes darted around nervously as her whole body got very hot, a flush spreading from her cheeks down her neck. Little Man again put his fingers on her lips, but this time he gently grazed them with his fingers as his other hand gently placed behind on Natalia's lower back. He pushed her closer until their faces were very close, their nose tips touching each other softly.
"I didn't say you have to love me the way you love Zack. His place can't be taken, but I want a small room in your heart……. It can take its time, but I want you to know that I love you with all my heart. Natalia, can you just say you'll think about me as a man and your possible suitor after Zack? I know you also feel my love for you."
Little Man spoke very slowly, his voice pouring over her warm as honey, as his hand grazed the upper part of her ass, sending shivers through her body.
HUFF HUFF
Natalia breathed hard as she felt his fingers on her lips and his hands on her sensitive area, touching her in ways that made her entire body respond with heat.
After a long silence, Natalia's mind was running in full panic mode. What should I do? I know he's a good man, and somehow Zack and I knew that this day would come eventually. He has been good to me all these years, and now thinking about it, I never saw him with other women. He's so handsome and tall, many women fell for him, but I never saw him giving them a single glance.
AH!
Natalia's thinking made her face grow much redder as her hand on his chest tightened. She grabbed his right arm that was touching her lips tightly with her other hand, holding it. "Agh! I love Zack….I can never, will never be able to give you his position in my heart. Are you fine with that?" She asked, her lips moving, making her saliva touch his fingers.
"No problem." Little Man nodded as he smiled happily and let his other long fingers graze on her neck with gentle touches that made her shiver.
AH!
Natalia shivered at his touch as she gathered her breath. "I can't accept you before speaking to Zack…….you have to wait. I'll try to talk to him, only if he agrees then I'll accept you." Natalia spoke meekly, her voice trembling with uncertainty.
Hearing this, Little Man smiled ear to ear, his handsome face shining under the sun's warm rays pouring through the window.
"Hehe, thank you, Natalia! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU! I LOVE YOU!!!!"
Little Man, overwhelmed with happiness, suddenly hugged her tighter, pulling her against him with emotion spilling over. Natalia, who was sitting facing him with both legs on the ground, felt the sudden tight hug and fell down behind on the sofa's back support. Due to her tilted position, Little Man was now above her as Natalia barely put her hand on the sofa cushion to save herself from falling completely onto the sofa. Her other hand tightly clenched on his shoulder, gripping him.
"AH! Don't hug me so suddenly! I said I'll think about it!" Natalia flushed and spoke in a hurry as she felt his weight on her body, her breasts squeezed against his big chest, the pressure making her acutely aware of every point of contact between them.
Little Man's left hand grabbed her whole waist and brought it forward as he put his face directly in front of hers. In the awkward position, Natalia's eyes kept looking at his eyes, unable to look away from the intensity. Little Man brought his hand forward, and his palm touched her whole right jawline, cupping her face gently as he brought her face even closer. Both their lips were only a few centimeters away now, the tension between them crackling through the air, thick with unspoken desire.
Little Man slowly brought his face closer as he felt Natalia's whole body pressing on his upper body, the softness of her curves molding against him. His hand reached down to grab her sides of ass while holding her waist, his fingers digging into the soft flesh.
AAH! HUFF HUFF
Princess Natalia couldn't stop herself from feeling something warm spreading through her after hearing those words as she breathed hard, her chest rising and falling rapidly. Subconsciously, she closed her eyes, surrendering to the moment, not realizing what she was committing to. Her body responded to him in ways her mind couldn't control, heat pooling low in her belly.
The lips got even closer…..an inch away, then less, as their lips barely touched, a feather-light very minute contact that sent electricity racing through both their bodies. The warmth of his breath mingled with hers, their hearts pounding together. Time seemed to slow down as the world narrowed to just this moment, just the two of them, just the promise of what was about to happen.
His hand on her ass tightened, pulling her impossibly closer against him. Her fingers on his shoulder gripped harder, torn between pushing him away and pulling him in closer. The heat between them was overwhelming, intoxicating in its intensity. She could taste his breath, feel the trembling in his body that matched her own shaking. His lips hovered over hers, so close she could feel the ghost of a kiss that hadn't yet happened.
Her entire body trembled with anticipation flooding through her. Every nerve ending was on fire. Every breath was shared between them. Every heartbeat echoed the desire building higher. The moment stretched, suspended in perfect, agonizing tension and as both their upper lips tips just featherily touched…
CREEAAAKKK!
"Haha, that was funny!"
TTHUUPPPPP!
"Ow! Ow!"
"Huh?"
The friends suddenly burst inside, laughing and talking loudly without any warning.
They saw Little Man arched at the end of the sofa; his back curved in a semicircle bent over the sofa's armrest as he looked out the window casually. His handsome face was laughing with embarrassment, as if he'd just been caught doing something ridiculous.
Princess Natalia was on the opposite end, sitting with her legs crossed primly, her palm covering her lower mouth as her cheeks burned bright red with heat. She was looking somewhere else, just anywhere else, desperately trying to compose herself and calm her racing heart.
"Hey, Little Man, why are you sleeping bent over there? Does it feel that good that you're laughing?" The 2nd male friend asked enthusiastically as he ran over and tried to mimic the position, contorting himself over the armrest.
The two girls giggled hard as they sat beside Princess Natalia and talked normally, not asking anything about what they'd almost walked in on. They seemed completely oblivious to the charged atmosphere they'd just interrupted.
The room slowly calmed down from the previous hot environment, though the tension between Little Man and Princess Natalia still lingered in the air unseen, invisible but unmistakable to anyone who knew what to look for.

Chapter 118 - Farewell Alice
The warmth only lasted for a while………. Someone came and quietly informed Queen Mother of something urgent, their voice filled with urgency explaining everything happened with Mother Veny group. Suddenly, everyone moved toward the entrance, their expressions shifting from comfort to deep concern.
They saw sobbing Mother Veny carrying a smiling child in her arms. Mother Julia walked beside her, carrying her friend's remains covered in cloth. The sight stopped everyone in their tracks completely. No one said anything. The silence grew heavy with grief and respect, pressing down on all of them.
"Ariana, can you draw us together?" Mother Veny asked in a low, broken voice that barely held itself together.
"Um, yes." Mother Ariana simply nodded, understanding immediately what was needed without further explanation.
"I want my daughter to be properly sent away, Malina." Mother Veny looked at Queen Mother with pleading eyes that glistened with unshed tears.
Queen Mother nodded solemnly, her own eyes beginning to glisten with moisture.
"I will help." Grandmother instructed, and slowly everyone got busy with purpose, each person finding their role in the sacred preparations.
.
.
The children were washed properly and changed into beautiful clothing with tender care. Alice's body was cleaned with reverence, every movement gentle and respectful of the small life lost. Her friend was dressed in warm, beautiful clothes, wrapped lovingly in soft fabric. Zack healed Mother Julia very swiftly, the energy flowing quickly through his hands to ease her pain. Sasha and the others helped treat Fia, Maren, Miss Eva, and Lurvi, tending to their injuries with gentle hands and quiet words.
Mother Ariana sat near the burning ceremony site, quietly watching over them all. On a large sheet of paper spread before her, she began to draw with careful strokes. She placed Mother Veny at the center, smiling, with a child held safely in her arms. Around her, she added the others, encircling them with care and attention to each face. Lurvi and Tyra floated above in the drawing, light and watchful over everyone below. One by one, she drew every person present in this moment. Those standing nearby, those injured and resting, even those sleeping far away in distant rooms and those who are doing their things away from them. No one was forgotten in her careful rendering.
Leader Mikaela moved around helping wherever needed, gathering supplies and organizing things with quiet efficiency. Zack introduced Miss Phoebe to everyone, and she also joined in helping after getting news that her husband already knew everything about their situation. She shook her head with a tired sigh, deciding to focus on helping first and dealing with explanations later when there was time.
Chieftess, Maid Nima and Miss Eva helped as much as they could, their movements quiet and respectful of the solemn occasion.
.
.
"Big Brother Zack, how can people do something so evil to our Alice and her friend?" Sio asked with anger burning in her voice as she stood beside Zack, who was sitting with Mother Ariana and the other injured people. "We don't even know how many kids suffered because of that man. Clearly, that bastard is behind this!"
Her small hands clenched into fists, shaking with pure rage.
"I don't know." Zack spoke sadly as he wrapped his blanket tighter around himself, his jaw tight with tension.
"Can't we kill that person? We know Grankell did it." Maren spoke while grinding her teeth together, her voice low with dangerous tone that barely contained violence.
"You also know we can't do that. He already has strong support, and this city depends on his money for survival." Fia spoke while feeling pain throb through her body in waves, her voice resigned to reality.
"Then can't we just stop depending on him?" Sio asked in genuine confusion, tilting her head to one side.
"Huh? How do we do that?" Maren rubbed her forehead tiredly and looked above, seeing the shimmering energy power shield around the city, glowing faintly in the afternoon light.
"Hmmm…"
Zack also looked above, his mind growing quiet as he went into deep thinking mode, completely ignoring the continued talk of the girls around him. His eyes narrowed with focus, calculating something in the silence of his thoughts.
.
.
Slowly, many dried wood pieces were put in place, arranged carefully into a proper structure. Everyone stood respectfully close to it, forming a circle of mourners around the pyre.
Mother Veny gently carried a beautiful girl dressed in a cute outfit that made her look peaceful. Alice's body seemed to have healed tremendously under Zack's treatment. Her face was glowing with soft radiance, no longer scary or twisted but showing the cute little girl, she truly was beneath all the suffering she had endured.
With huge tears falling down her cheeks in steady streams, Mother Veny gently placed Alice on top of the wood structure above the soft thick cushion. Making sure her daughter was comfortable in her final resting place; she placed a soft cloth above her and laid her on her back with infinite care and love. Mother Ariana brought her friend, wrapped in beautiful clothing, and gently placed the remains beside Alice so they could rest together.
Slowly, everyone one by one came forward and placed beautiful flowers around Alice and her friend. They prayed and talked to them softly, saying their goodbyes in whispered voices meant only for the departed. The mothers kept sobbing hard, barely holding themselves together under the crushing weight of loss.
Mother Veny came last and placed a beautiful white flower near Alice's head with shaking hands. She leaned down and kissed Alice's forehead tenderly, her tears falling onto her daughter's peaceful face and sliding down her cheeks.
"Daughter, your mommy is sorry for not giving you more happiness…... SNIFF AGHH!!.... Sorry I came so late to you. Mommy will never forget you. Please rest in peace, and in your next life, come to Mommy again, okay, my dear one?"
SOOBB SOOBB ACCCK ACCKK, SOBB.
Mother Veny clenched her hands tightly putting it against her chest.
"I AM SORRY! MOMMY WAS NOT GOOD TO YOU! I AM SORRY! WE ARE SORRY FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SAVE YOU!"
Mother Veny started bawling hard, her whole body shaking with grief so powerful it seemed to tear her apart. She slowly leaned down and kissed the warm clothing covering her friend's remains with reverence.
"Sorry, dear, and thank you for staying with her all this time. I hope you will be together up there, holding hands. Please take care of each other."
THAP!
"Don't be a wuss! Smile for your daughter!" Grandmother came forward and gently hit Mother Veny's back, her own eyes red from crying but her voice firm with ancient wisdom.
Mother Veny nodded through her tears and smiled sweetly despite the pain, fixing Alice's clothes one last time and smoothing down her small strands of hair with motherly affection. Alice lay there smiling happily, holding her friend's hand as if they were just sleeping peacefully together under warm sunlight.
Mother Julia also prayed and gently kissed their foreheads, her tears falling silently onto their faces.
Everyone shed tears as Grandmother started reciting prayers, her voice carrying the steadiness for the departing soul and the weight of countless farewells spoken over generations. She performed rituals as others did their part, following the sacred traditions passed down through time. At last, she said, "The eldest son or daughter, please come and start the fire and send your little sister to heaven."
Everyone then looked at Sasha.
"Dear, please send her away." Mother Julia spoke warmly, though her voice broke at the end with emotion.
Sasha looked at the others gathered and spoke clearly, her voice carrying through the gathering with strength. "Let's send our little sister on her last journey together."
Sasha stood at the front and called everyone present to join her. Zack, Fia, Maren, Oliver, Gloomy, and Sio all came forward, with Lurvi and Tyra floating above them protectively. They stood together, united in grief and love for the little girl leaving them.
Then they bowed deeply to Alice and her friend, their heads lowered in utmost respect, and said their prayers silently in their hearts.
Grandmother gave a long wooden piece already lit with fire on the tip to Sasha. The others gently touched the big wooden branch, their hands overlapping one another's, and they said together in powerful unison:
"YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU, AND WE WILL MISS YOU, ALICE AND HER FRIEND. WE LOVEEEE YOUUUU!!!!!!"
"LURR! TTYRRAA!" Lurvi and Tyra cried out from above, their voices echoing across the space.
Then they gently placed the wood inside a hole at the base of the structure, pushing it in carefully. Slowly, the whole structure made of dried wood caught fire. The flames climbed higher and higher up the carefully arranged pieces, and at the top, Alice smiled sweetly, her face peaceful in the growing light that surrounded her.
HEHE, MOMMY, ALICE LOVES YOU! AND BIG BROTHER AND SISTERS, I LOVE YOU TOO!
As if Alice was speaking to them one last time from beyond, everyone shed tears as they watched the whole structure engulf in flames. The fire roared to life, consuming everything with cleansing heat that rose into the sky.
"MOMMY LOVES YOU, MY CUTE LITTLE DAUGHTER! WAAHHHH! WAAAHHHH! HICCC! AACCKKK! WAAHH! UUWWAAA! AAA! MY DAUGHTERRR! WAAAHHHH! AAAHHHH! AHHHH! IT HURRTSSS! WAAAHHH!"
Mother Veny cried harder, her voice completely broken by anguish. "WHYYY?! WHYYY?! AAGHH! COUGHH! COUGGHH! UUUWWWAAA!"
She collapsed on the ground and started bawling hard, her body shaking uncontrollably with the force of her grief tearing through her.
Mother Julia, Queen Mother, Mother Ariana, Mother Silja, and Kyra all broke down, their sobs mingling as one sound of shared pain. Around them, the other children stood with Miss Expert Sister, their Grandmother, Leader Mikaela, Miss Phoebe, Chieftess, Maid Nima, and Miss Eva. Each person in their own place around the pyre, crying openly as the structure slowly burned to ash. Thick smoke rose high into the sky, carrying their grief upward with it.
The winds swept the smoke away to a faraway place, carrying Alice and her friend's spirits to wherever souls go to find their final rest.
The flames crackled and roared with fierce heat, but beneath that sound, there was only weeping. The sound of hearts breaking and love enduring beyond death itself.
.
.
At 4th Rock
"Hey, why were we called so early here? I thought our time was a little further away." A man asked while walking into a very big meeting room, adjusting his collar with annoyed movements.
"Seems the Princess is quite a to-the-point character." Another replied with a shrug of his shoulders. "She swiftly dealt with our stupid bosses and called this meeting immediately without wasting time."
.
.
At Some Other Place in the Meeting Room
"Hey, why are you here? Didn't you work overtime till late at night? And now came here without even taking a bath?" A senior old man scolded a tired-looking man harshly, his nose wrinkling in disgust at the smell.
"Boss, it was mandatory to attend. What if I…"
"Shut up! You coming here in this state brings shame to our entire company! Go stand in the corner and don't show your face around!" The boss shouted, pointing toward the back of the room with contempt.
The tired man shuffled away, his shoulders slumped in exhaustion and humiliation.
Useless people. You guys are getting fired after this anyway. Thuu!
The boss muttered under his breath, spitting his contempt onto the floor.
.
.
At Another Place
"Hey hey, Miss, did you reach home safely after our late-night dinner? Hehe, sorry to take your time." A bald old man laughed and spoke as a woman brought some beverages to them, her hands trembling slightly as she set them down.
"Yes, Boss." The woman hesitantly nodded, not meeting his eyes directly.
"What? Of course she can go safely! Who wants to touch her? Hahah! Except us!!! I reckon no one bats an eye for her. She must be grateful, right, Miss? You are grateful, right?" Another old man said as he gently touched her ass, bringing a shiver through her entire body.
"Agh! Yes." The woman meekly spoke, her voice barely audible, her face flushing with shame.
"Hey hey, this is sexual assault, you know! She'll complain to Princess, and then your life is over! Haha!" The man laughed from the side, not actually caring at all about her wellbeing.
"Oh, will you do that?" The first man said, his grip tightening as he grabbed her ass more forcefully. "But I was thinking of promoting you soon. Don't you want to go higher on the ladder?"
The woman's eyes filled with tears, but she nodded mechanically, her voice fully hollow. "I will not complain, Boss. Please be rest assured."
"Haha, good subordinate you have, my friend!" The other old man laughed while checking her body out, his eyes roaming lewdly over her figure.
.
.
At Another Place
"Hey, you useless group of people, go sit in the back! Barely surviving in this industry and daring to sit at front!" A rich-looking man waved dismissively at some people who were trying to sit in better seats near the stage.
"Mr., there is no seat assigned. We can sit wherever we want." A woman at the front spoke with determination, her chin lifted defiantly.
"Hahha! What a stupid woman! Go home! Don't you have kids to take care of?" The man sneered at her with open disdain. "Your company is already in ruins. Why are you trying to win some favor with Princess? Go away! I heard she'll dismantle useless people. Go now!"
The man waved at them dismissively and didn't bother looking at them anymore, turning his back.
The people's eyes changed, filling it with anger at the treatment they receive just by sitting in front, they couldn’t do anything, so they stood up and slowly walked back, forced to sit in the worse seats at the rear.
.
.
At the Front of the Entrance
"Sir, please let us go! We'll stand at the very end! We just want to ask some things to Princess!" Several people pleaded, standing at the entrance, their voices desperate with need.
"Don't let me repeat myself again! Only working people with badges are allowed in here!" The security guard barked at them aggressively. "You people are just trying to make everyone uncomfortable here! Get out, otherwise we'll have to use force!"
The security guy threatened them, stepping forward menacingly with his hand on his weapon.
The people backed away slowly, their hope crushed under the weight of rejection, forced to leave empty-handed with nowhere else to turn.
.
.
Inside, the meeting room was filling up with people from all walks of life. Some powerful, some struggling to survive, some corrupt beyond redemption, some trying desperately to hold onto what little they had. All of them waiting to see what Princess would do next.

Chapter 117 - Blankets And Bonds
"Big Brother Zack, I like your style of comfy! Give me one! I want to sleep that way too!" Gloomy called out, his eyes fixed on Zack sleeping peacefully on Mother Ariana's lap with his blankets rolled around him.
Gloomy disappeared then appeared from somewhere with a blanket clutched in his hands. He rolled himself up from his upper body, copying Zack's exact style with careful precision. He lay down beside Zack, settling into position.
Zack noticed the movement and opened his big blanket wide without a word, pulling the whole of Gloomy inside with him in one smooth motion.
"Waaa!" Pure bliss washed over Gloomy's entire being. His face lit up with a smile of absolute contentment as he drifted off to sleep, completely unbothered by all the noise surrounding them.
"Geez, who even likes half-covered blankets? I like FULL coverage!" Sio declared as she also brought one from nearby. She covered herself completely in the normal way, wrapping the fabric around her entire body. She settled down on Mother Ariana's other side, resting her head on her other thigh opposite from where Zack lay.
"Geez, am I a bed or what?" Mother Ariana's sweet smile remained despite the battering and exhaustion her body had endured due to working a lot in the shop of Oliver in the early morning. She looked down at the children resting on her lap and gently patted their heads, her touch tender and filled with motherly warmth.
.
.
"Um, is it really okay for us not to go?" Mother Silja's voice trembled slightly as she spoke. "You don't have to worry about us. I can do it!"
She tried to sound confident, mustering all the strength she could gather into those words.
"Yes, yes, Mother Silja is the best, but nope!!!!!! We decided not to go, so stay here with me." Sasha spoke gently as she held Mother Silja's arm and placed her head on her shoulder, snuggling close for comfort.
"Queen, sorry to come here without informing you." Chieftess Anihoa and Maid Nima spoke together as they bowed in apology. They sat with straight posture on one of the sofas, their backs rigid with the formality of unexpected guests.
"Don't worry! Since you've become friends with our kids, feel free to come whenever you want." Queen Mother responded with genuine warmth radiating from her voice. "This palace is just in name a 'Queen's palace.' These brats come and go whenever they like anyway."
Her smile was beautiful, welcoming them without reservation.
"Wow, Queen is so beautiful!" Maid Nima muttered from the side, gazing at Queen Mother with sparkling, admiring eyes that shone with genuine appreciation. "But our Chieftess…"
Maid Nima rolled her eyes dramatically as she glanced at the glaring Chieftess beside her.
“What are you looking at? Do you want me to poke out your little annoying eyes?” Chieftess Anihoa glared at her.
"Haha!" The others laughed at the playful dynamic between the two, the sound lightening the atmosphere.
.
.
"Hmm?"
Queen Mother suddenly noticed Oliver and the others entering through the doorway. She got up instantly and walked swiftly across the room, reaching out to grab Grandmother's hand with both of hers.
"Grandmother! It's been such a long time! How are you doing?" Queen Mother protested cutely, her voice taking on a childish quality that stripped away years of queenly composure. "You don't come see me so often! I even told your little girls to call you, but you never came to meet me!"
She brought Grandmother over with gentle insistence and made her sit comfortably on the best seat in the room, fussing over her comfort like a cautious daughter.
"Ho ho, Malina, you want this old woman to go back and forth at such an old age?" Grandmother spoke gently, her voice warm with affection. "I hear about you from my girls and am happy to hear that you guys are safe and well."
"Geez, still, you rarely come here! I miss your cooking so much." Queen Mother spoke while sitting beside Grandmother and adjusting the cushions behind her back with care.
"You've become so big, but there's still your rowdiness remaining deep inside." Grandmother observed with a knowing smile. "Now I realize why your daughter is so tough and headstrong."
"Hmm, how do you know? When did you meet her personally?" Queen Mother's expression shifted to confusion, her brow furrowing slightly. "And why are you girls here and not with Nat?"
She looked at the four expert guards with questions written all over her face.
"Ah! That, Queen, we… I…" The four guards stuttered, unable to find the right words to explain themselves.
"I will tell you what happened." Oliver came forward and began explaining everything clearly. How the meeting went, the confrontation, the slap, about Nat's anger burning hot in front of everyone. All of it laid out without embellishment.
Hearing all this, everyone's faces changed dramatically. The atmosphere in the room grew heavy with tension.
"THAT STUPID GIRL IS TAKING THIS TOO FAR! HOW DARE SHE HIT HER OWN PEOPLE?! AND THOSE GIRLS HELPED US! WHY DID SHE!!!!"
"CALM DOWN, MALINA!"
Queen Mother was ramping up in anger, her voice rising to a near-shout that filled the entire space, when Grandmother spoke in a loud, commanding voice that cut through the chaos. Everyone immediately looked down, properly chastened by the authority in her tone.
"She is a little kid, and she's doing better than you at her age." Grandmother said firmly, her words carrying weight. "Don't blame her. Rather, it is your fault. I never heard of her being in the public eye before this. You clearly were way too protective of her growing up……. I don't blame you for how you raised her after the wreck you were in during your time of rule, it is understandable that you were cautious"
She paused, letting her words sink into the silence.
"Natalia has grown up quite mature with a stable head on her shoulders. She's doing well despite her faults, and it was my girls' fault to bicker with her in front of all those people during an official meeting."
Grandmother glanced at her girls, who shivered under her gaze and swiftly bowed deeply in response.
"WE ARE SORRY, QUEEN!"
Queen Mother slowly calmed down, her breathing steadying back to normal rhythm. She raised the girls up gently with her hands, her expression softening with understanding.
"Grandmother, don't be so harsh on them. I get it now."
Queen Mother talked more with Oliver, learning all the details and trying to piece together the full picture of what had transpired at the meeting.
.
.
Sssiiiiggghhhh…….
Nat, is that the path you have chosen???...... Forget it, don't think too much about it right now. This is way too early to judge her properly……. I will wait for her.
Zack muttered in a low voice, his thoughts churning beneath the surface.
Yes, trust your Nat!!!
And those two….I should meet them and apologize, but I don't know where they live!! Agh! I'll have to wait until they come to meet me. And about her… Hmm, now that I sense carefully, there's a very little residue on her body.
Zack muttered again under his breath, his brow furrowing with concentration.
"Big Brother Zack, will you be okay?" Gloomy suddenly turned around inside the blanket and spoke while yawning, his voice muffled by fabric and sleepiness.
"Hmm, I'll be fine. Don't worry about me." Zack spoke while getting up from his comfortable position, leaving behind a sad-faced Gloomy who watched his second layer of blanket being taken away with visible disappointment.
"Big Brother… I'm sorry." Sio's voice came out soft, her words edged with guiltiness. "I didn't like it when those girls flirted with you…….. while you also didn't push them away. And because of that I said cruel things about you. But after hearing what Big Sister Nat is doing…… the same kind of thing…… I don't know how to feel anymore. At first, I thought she was a victim. Now… I'm not so sure."
Sio spoke sadly as she tried to hide behind her mother's body, speaking slowly with guilt weighing down each word that left her lips.
"Hmmm, come here." Zack said gently, opening his arms a little and raising his blanket up slightly in invitation.
Sio slowly crossed over her mother's legs and sat in front of Zack. He wrapped his arms around her small frame, hugging her gently while the blanket enveloped them both.
"It's okay. I was not right in not pushing them away properly, so it's fair to complain about me. And what Nat is doing is also not good, so you can complain about her too." His voice was patient, talking with her in full understanding of her thoughts. "Make sure to correct your big brother and sisters when they make a mistake, okay??..... Just don't hate any of us. We're family. We can fight and disagree, but never break off, okay, my cute sister?"
Zack gently patted her back, his touch reassuring and warm against her spine.
"Umm, yes, Big Brother!" Sio smiled brightly as she raised her head from Zack's chest and looked up at him with shining eyes full of renewed happiness.
"Hehe, then all good! Curse her as much as you can until you feel better!" Zack laughed a little and got off the sofa, standing up.
Sio nodded heavily, feeling the weight lift from her chest.
"Ah, blanket!" Gloomy stretched out his hand and grabbed Sio's blanket, pulling it over himself without hesitation.
"Hey, Gloomy! Don't take my blanket!!" Sio roared, trying to pull it back with all her strength.
"A little is fine! My legs are freezing cold! They're hurting from all the standing I did today!" Gloomy protested and held the fabric tightly, refusing to let go for anything.
Sio lay down and tried to roll herself up in the blanket, but Gloomy didn't budge an inch. A full tug-of-war began on Mother Ariana's legs, the blanket stretching between them.
Mother Ariana watched the war happening directly on her lap. She spoke calmly at first, but clear warning colored her tone as she continued:
"IF YOU DON'T STAY STILL RIGHT NOW, THEN I WILL TAKE BOTH OF YOUR BLANKETS!"
"GAH!"
Sio and Gloomy stopped fighting immediately at the threat. They shared the blanket between them, resting quietly on either side of her lap, though they continued bickering in low, whispered voices that only each other could hear.
.
.
Zack walked over to where Sasha sat and saw her looking worriedly at him, her eyes already asking him whether he would be okay. Zack just signalled that everything was okay and pointed with his fingers in a pinching style, indicating a very little amount of residue.
Sasha nodded, visibly relaxing as her shoulders loosened from their tense position.
Tsk!
I will kill that witch! She's got my brother's heart, and now she's bewitching other men too! She's taking me way too lightly!
Sasha's face transformed to anger as soon as Zack turned his head away from her. She fumed silently inside her own mind, but still held Mother Silja's arm gently, not letting her inner turmoil affect her touch.
"Now, now, don't kill your friend just yet." Mother Silja said, trying to calm the anger radiating from Sasha's body, surprising Sasha on why she figured out her thinking. "Would you have done things differently if you were in her place?"
"But Mother, how could she do that to Zack?" Sasha protested, her voice rising slightly. "She was practically glued to that man!!!!! Whoever he is for sure a rotten man!!! HUMPH!! But I can already guess who that man is……. It's probably that boy who follows her around at school constantly. And now Nat is telling everyone he's a potential suitor!" Her voice cracked with outrage. "What about my Zack?!"
Sasha grunted in frustration, her jaw clenching tight enough to ache.
"Oh dear, she's your friend." Mother Silja said gently, her calm voice trying best to make Sasha hot anger temperature go down a little. "She is your friend, so listen to her when she comes to you and tries to explain everything. Don't be harsh with her before you hear her side." She paused, her expression softening with understanding. "She's shouldering the weight of this entire city on her young shoulders, and Zack understands that burden. I can see it clearly. Even though he seems troubled on the surface, his eyes still trust Nat a lot"
Mother Silja patted Sasha's hands gently, her touch soothing.
"Trust me, I've seen many men who come to me over the years. Most of them are married…… Some say they hate their partners, some say they love them deeply, some say their partners made their life hell, some say they think they are cheating on him, some say she is not interested in him anymore, this and that…..….. but regardless of what they say, they willingly come to me anyway. But Zack and Nat are not following that pattern. Well, at least not for now…... For now, their relationship is new and they're doing okay considering everything. Just trust them. Whatever happens, you have to look out for them both. Give your brother a little space in his love life, okay, dear?"
Mother Silja spoke with wisdom earned through years of observation.
"But I do give them space already." Sasha spoke in a low voice, feeling a little guilty about the accusation.
"I'm not talking about physically giving them space." Mother Silja clarified patiently. "Everyone says to you that you stick to Zack way too close. They feel that way because you're way too invested in him emotionally, they are not talking about you sticking close to him like a glue, well that in itself can be little problematic, hehe……… Ahmm….. Let your brain relax a little and give him space to act on his own. You're behaving toward him in a doting way. Maybe even worse than Queen Mother dotes on Nat. Hehe, do you understand what I mean?"
As soon as Mother Silja finished speaking, Sasha's eyes shone as if realizing something profound that had been hidden from her view.
"Mother, it seems to be true!" Sasha exclaimed softly, her voice filled with discovery. "I didn't realize it at all!!!! I felt everyone always mocked me for being alone whenever he was not around, but maybe I just never kept my mind off of Zack, so it felt that way to others around us. Wow, Mother, aren't you a smart one! Yes, I will trust Zack on whatever path he chooses! Hmm, what other things should I limit myself on…"
Sasha pondered thoughtfully, her mind already working through possibilities.
"Maybe try to say 'I don't care what my brother says or does with others.'" Chieftess suddenly came over and sat beside her, speaking in a hushed voice meant only for their small group.
"Maybe think of another man and look around a little bit and see who's handsome or not." Maid Nima also came and sat beside Mother Silja, speaking in a low, conspiratorial voice full of suggestion.
"Hey! Don't teach your filthy mindset to Sasha!" Chieftess roared in a harsh whisper, glaring at her companion.
"Huh? What? I'm just thinking about you! If your friend is more talented than you at getting men, then you'll learn how to get a man yourself! And I can be free to choose many men for myself! Hohoho." Maid Nima drooled as her imagination ran completely wild, her eyes glazing over with fantasy.
"No, Sasha, think of learning new things instead." Chieftess interjected quickly. "Remember how I was learning to fly? It's scary but fun at the same time. You have to busy your mind with other things to get unattached from always worrying about Zack every second."
"No, that just means you're a loner and a scared little animal!" Maid Nima spoke from the other side, smirking with satisfaction.
"Shut up! Don't disturb me! I'm running my brain at full speed here! Your voices are distracting me from thinking!" Sasha roared in a hushed tone, her face scrunched up in deep concentration.
"Um… girls, you can talk a little louder, you know!" Mother Silja said with embarrassment as they continued to bicker quietly around her.
.
.
"Hello, Grandmother. My name is Zack Carney. It's a pleasure to meet you." Zack said warmly as he came forward and knelt on one knee on the ground before her, looking at Grandmother with genuine respect radiating from his posture.
"Oh, that old man's child! I saw you as a kid but look at you now, grown up to be such handsome lad." Grandmother spoke with delight, her eyes twinkling with recognition. "You little ones have grown up into such healthy children. I'm happy to see that with my own eyes."
She reached out and patted Zack's head affectionately, blessing him with her touch.
"Thank you, Grandmother." Zack said sincerely before continuing. "I head what you have gone through and….. And I can feel that weird thing inside your body…… Why not let me make you healthy? I have a way to remove that weird thing from your body. Then you'll be cleaned out and feel all good, and Miss Experts won't have to worry about you anymore. Can I do that??.... And don't worry at all. It's a very little amount. I won't even break a sweat while treating you."
Zack spoke warmly, his voice genuine and caring without any hint of boasting.
"Hmm…"
Grandmother looked behind her and saw that Queen Mother and the others had stopped their conversation entirely. Her little girls were staring at Zack with eyes brimming with tears of hope, their expressions desperate yet trying to remain composed.
"Sighhh."
"This old woman is blessed with such amazing people surrounding her." Grandmother said softly, her voice thick with emotion. "Thank you, little one. Please treat me."
She nodded slowly, giving her full consent.
Zack began treating her with careful movements, placing his hands gently on her arms. Energy flowed between them, barely visible to normal eyes but palpable to those who understood what was happening in that moment.
After a few minutes passed, everything was done. Zack didn't feel any pressure while sucking out the weird energy. It had been as easy as he'd promised from the start. He sat beside Grandmother, checking her condition carefully with focused attention.
"HO HO! I FEEL GREAT! HAHA! I FEEL MY MIND CLEAR UP COMPLETELY, AND MY PAIN HAS ALSO EASED UP SO MUCH! YOU ARE A GREAT BOY! HOHO!"
Grandmother laughed with all her heart, her voice ringing through the room with pure joy that seemed to make the very air lighter. Her face appeared years younger than moments before, the lines of pain smoothing out from her features.
WHOOSH.
The four expert guards suddenly came forward in perfect synchronization, kneeling on one knee on the ground before Zack. They gave their full respect to him, their heads bowed low, their posture absolutely perfect and reverent.
"MASTER ZACK, THANK YOU!" they said in powerful unison, their voices clear without any hint of resistance, echoing through the space. "WE ARE SORRY TO NOT FULFILL YOUR INSTRUCTION, AND DESPITE THAT, YOU TREATED OUR GRANDMOTHER! WE WILL NEVER FORGET ABOUT THIS! OUR LIVES, AFTER QUEEN MOTHER, ARE YOURS TO TAKE! WE WANT TO SERVE YOU WITH ALL OUR HEART! PLEASE ACCEPT OUR FEALTY TOWARDS YOU!"
The four expert guards roared with their determination, the sound shocking everyone present in the room. The air itself seemed to vibrate with the weight of their oath.
Queen Mother's eyes widened in shock seeing this display. Suddenly, her gaze darted toward Zack's back, her mind racing through implications, her eyes sparkling with realization and something deeper. Pride, perhaps, or recognition of something truly significant unfolding.
"A warrior giving their loyalty, their strength, their heart and soul to a person… Wow, such great honor! Your brother is amazing, Sasha!" Chieftess looked at them with sparkling eyes, deeply moved by the traditional display of fealty.
"Umm, yes!" Sasha smiled wide, seeing this moment unfolds, her chest swelling with pride for her brother.
"Ah! Miss Experts…"
TAP!
As Zack was about to say something in response, Grandmother tapped his hand gently and smiled at him with approval shining in her eyes, nodding her permission.
Zack looked at the others in the room who nodded back at him telling him to respect their decision. Zack after thinking for a while stood up slowly, and bowed slightly back to them with dignity befitting the gravity of the moment.
"Raise your heads, Miss Experts." He commanded gently, his voice carrying natural authority after standing tall.
WHOOSH.
All four of them raised their heads with perfect precision, standing straight respectfully, their movements synchronized as if they shared one mind.
"Thank you. I will accept your fealty towards me, but remember this clearly." Zack paused to let his words carry weight. "Queen Mother is your top priority, and so is her daughter. I know she was not good towards you today and I am sorry about that, but please treat her well regardless. And regarding me, I will respect your decision to serve. The only thing I ask is that you can be at ease when you're with me, okay?"
Zack smiled as he looked at the expert guards, who were all significantly taller than him. Despite the height difference, his presence commanded their respect absolutely.
"Yes!" they answered back in unison, their voices firm with commitment.
"Oh, then why not ask them to show their faces, Zack? They won't refuse you now, you know." Oliver came over with a smirk playing on his lips, standing beside Zack and putting his arm on his shoulder casually.
TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH TWITCH.
The expert girls' eyes all twitched simultaneously at hearing this suggestion, their bodies going rigid.
"HO HO HO! Do you want to know why they hide their faces? This grandmother can tell you the story." Grandmother said with clear amusement dancing in her voice.
"Grandmother, please let us know! I'm very curious now." Oliver said as he swiftly got on the ground and began gently massaging her legs with skilled hands, his movements fully giving off the vibe of caring for elders but his smirking face tell a different story.
"Ho ho, good lad! I like your spirit and your manners!" Grandmother enjoyed the massage thoroughly, her expression relaxing even more with satisfaction.
"NO, GRANDMOTHER!" The girls came forward quickly and gently placed their hands over her mouth, stopping her from speaking and revealing their secret.
"MASTER ZACK! We… we…" The others hesitated and fidgeted tremendously, their faces turning red with embarrassment beneath their masks, clearly visible in their body language.
"Hahah!" Zack laughed warmly and signalled them not to worry about it, waving his hand dismissively to show he wouldn't push the matter.
The mood became warm and comfortable as everyone talked and laughed together for quite a while, the earlier tension dissolving completely into nothing. The room filled with the sounds of conversation, laughter, and the comfortable noise of family and friends enjoying each other's company without reservation.

For the moment, the author settled for a non alcoholic drink and prepared to go to sleep.

Chapter 116 - Everything Is Going To Be Fine
Ssssiigghhhh…….
A weary sigh escaped Queen Mother's lips.
"What is she doing out there?" The words came out tiredly, as she rubbed her temples in slow circles. Years of leadership weighed heavily on her shoulders tonight. "Just because you chose the opposite way to tackle problems doesn't mean it's better."
She drew in another breath and released it slowly, feeling the exhaustion settle deeper into her bones.
"And what should I say to Zack? I don't know how he'll react." Her fingers pressed harder against her temples. "I can just hope my warnings from all these years will be effective."
The room seemed to grow heavier with each passing moment.
"You can go now."
Queen Mother lowered herself onto the chair beside Jorri's sleeping form. She waved a dismissive hand toward the guard who had just finished reporting the happenings of the 5th Rock Princess meeting. The guard bowed with respect and left through the door, closing it with a soft click that echoed in the quiet space.
"My Queen, I think Princess is doing just fine. She's thinking about the benefit of this city. Why are you so worried?" Kyra asked as she settled into the chair beside her. Her eyes drifted occasionally toward her son's peacefully sleeping form, watching his chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm that brought her comfort.
"She's thinking about the city, and that's what's wrong!" Queen Mother's voice rose sharply before she caught herself, forcing the volume back down. "She's aggressive in her rule…… Different from me, yes, but she's still the same as me at the core. Thinking about the city above all else."
Her expression shifted, shadows of old regrets creeping across her face.
"My time of rule was for the city, and that meant overlooking my common citizens." The confession came from her deepest regrets she had, almost as if speaking to her past self. "Even when they cried, I had to overlook it. Push the city to become more prominent. That's what I did, and now the people have suffered tremendously because of my choices."
The vulnerability in her voice was fully exposed.
"She needs to focus on people rather than the city. The city can run fine even if we choose to take action against those filthy bastards! The city may get weaker, but it has to be done." Another exhausted sigh left her lips. "I didn't say anything to her because I want her to realize it herself, but… Ah! I don't know, Kyra. I don't really know what to do anymore."
Her hands trembled slightly against her lap.
"Personally, I think about bringing them somewhere else. We know those people will come to take over this place. We don't have the power to stop them." She turned her gaze toward Jorri, and her expression crumbled with sadness. "My Jorri alone can't shoulder this city anymore. He's tired and getting old now."
In the dim light filtering through the curtains, the lines of exhaustion on his face seemed carved deeper than ever before. Every burden he'd carried throughout the years had left its mark.
Kyra didn't offer words. She simply rose from her seat and placed her hand on Queen Mother's back, patting gently. The warmth of human touch spoke volumes in the heavy silence.
.
.
CREEAKK!
"Queen Mother, the others came back from the shop, and the mothers are asking for Big Sister Sasha!" Sio peeked her head through the doorway, her voice careful yet still carrying a hint of cheerfulness that brightened the somber atmosphere.
"Oh yes, dear, I'm coming!" Queen Mother's voice transformed instantly. Giving her the vibe that she is calm and very happy, as if the previous conversation had been nothing but a forgotten dream.
"Um, okay." Sio disappeared from the doorway, her footsteps fading down the hallway in quick succession.
Siighhhh……
"They're all doing so much for us and keep getting in danger, while we can't do anything for them." Queen Mother's shoulders slumped forward under the crushing weight of her guilt.
Kyra watched her friend spiral for exactly three seconds before….
SSLLAAPPP!!!!!!
Her palm connected hard with Queen Mother's back. The sound cracked through the room thunderously.
"OWWW! KYRA! Why are you hitting me?!" Queen Mother spun around with an indignant pout, glaring at her friend while rubbing the sore spot.
"My Queen, your mood is affecting this entire room. Mr. Jorri and my son are probably cursing you in their sleep right now." Kyra's smirk held amusement dancing in her eyes. "You're useless, I can see that clearly, but at least be a smiling useless person."
"Grr! Who are you calling useless?!" The flush of indignation colored Queen Mother's cheeks as she protested.
"Everything is going to be fine. All the people love you deeply, so in their own accord, they want to help you." Kyra's expression softened to a warmer tone, radiating genuine confidence. "Don't worry about silly things and go out there with a beautiful smile and a positive mindset."
Her bright smile seemed to light up the entire corner of the room.
"Ara, aren't you a cheeky one? Fine, fine. I won't spread my negativity here anymore, hehe." Queen Mother pushed herself up from the chair and straightened her posture, rolling her shoulders back into proper alignment. "Take care of them."
She turned her gaze toward Jorri one more time. Her expression melted completely, transforming into sweet soft smile, the love radiated from that single look before she finally turned and walked toward the door.
.
.
Sasha probably stayed with Zack. That girl is way too attached to him.
Queen Mother walked through the hallways, muttering quietly under her breath as she glanced outside through each passing window. Morning sunlight streamed through the glass, painting everything in warm golden hues that should have brought comfort but only reminded her of passing time.
Phewww.
My friend, I hope you're resting peacefully wherever you are. Sasha is a good child. Don't worry about her.
A bittersweet smile touched Queen Mother's lips as she approached the room where Zack was sleeping.
CREEAKK.
She eased the door open with careful silence.
And she was right! Sasha was sleeping right beside him.
Geez, this girl's habits are way too outrageous. Friend, I think she's become a little tilted in her head.
Queen Mother shook her head with amused exasperation and moved closer to the bed. Sasha had wrapped herself around Zack completely, her naked breasts pressing firmly against his biceps as she smiled peacefully in her sleep. The picture of absolute contentment.
"Oye, stupid girl, wake up!"
TAK!
Queen Mother's knuckles connected directly with Sasha's head.
"Ow! Ow! What?!" Sasha jolted awake in complete confusion, blinking rapidly as her eyes tried to focus. "Queen Mother, what happened? Why are you beating me?!"
"Ariana and the others are calling for you. Let's go." Queen Mother crossed her arms with finality.
"Ah! That…" Sasha rubbed her eyes lazily, her voice still heavy with sleep. "I'm not going. Zack told me not to go. I'll tell them myself!"
She sat up without any self-consciousness, causing the blanket to fall down to her hips. Her beautiful, round breasts came into full view as she stretched her arms high above her head in pure satisfaction.
"KkKKyaAA! It was a good short sleep! I feel so refreshed!" The smile that spread across Sasha's face was bright and completely unbothered by her state of undress.
"Geez, cover yourself a little! Your habits will surely bring you trouble in the future. Think about your future husbands!" Queen Mother grabbed Sasha's clothes quickly and thrust them toward her with exasperation written all over her face.
"Hmm, if they can't accept me the way I am, then they're not meant to be my husbands." Sasha lifted her chin proudly, defiance sparking in her eyes. "Humph! I don't even care about your daughter's feelings! Bleehh!"
She stuck her tongue out in playful protest, making the most childish face imaginable.
"Agh!"
Queen Mother felt a small throb begin pulsing in her head. Her gaze shifted to Zack's peaceful sleeping face, and she sighed deeply while contemplating how to inform him about everything.
Sasha pulled on her top and started to rise from the bed, but Zack moved suddenly. His hand shot out and grabbed her waist with surprising speed, pulling her back down. He placed his face on top of the upper part of her naked thighs, and his warm breath immediately hit her sensitive skin, sending tingles radiating through Sasha's entire body in waves.
"Zack, you woke up?" Sasha's voice became softer making sure she didn’t annoy him. "Sorry, we were loud. Sleep more if you need to. I'll go and inform them. Don't worry. I'm sure they'll understand."
Her hand moved to pat Zack's head affectionately, fingers running through his hair in soothing strokes.
Zack's eyes opened slowly, and when he spoke, his voice was tired and groggy. "No, I don't want the mothers to go. It's not fair for them if I stop you."
He paused, gathering his scattered thoughts in sleeping daze.
"Sorry, Queen Mother, I don't think them going there is good. We don't know what Cok and that representative guy are thinking or why they want to take your place, but for sure it's nothing good for this city." His words came out measured despite his exhaustion. "Knowing it won't change anything, so I th—"
"Yes, fine, fine, I get it!" Queen Mother interrupted with a warm smile spreading across her face, waving her hand dismissively. "I also don't want them to go. You guys have already done enough. Take a breather or two. I'll go and talk to them. You guys can come slowly when you're ready."
Her smile deepened with genuine sweetness as she leaned down and pressed a kiss to Sasha's head, then gently patted Zack's head with motherly affection. With that gesture complete, she turned and walked toward the door, closing it softly behind her to preserve the quiet.
.
.
"Zack, is it okay?" Concern colored Sasha's voice as she touched Zack's hair gently, running her fingers through the strands in slow motions. Zack closed his eyes and rested his cheek against the soft skin of her thighs. His warm breath was now reaching dangerously close to her naked crotch, though her shirt provided a barrier that stopped it from going any further.
"Hmm, it's okay." Zack's voice came out muffled against her skin. "Mother Silja is way too vulnerable to that area, and Mother Ariana acts strong but is weak as hell underneath. And you're just stupid!!! Oliver people are doing enough for us already, so I say it's not worth the risk."
A faint smile touched his lips.
"Who are you calling stupid?!" Sasha put a little force into her grip, pinching his ear and turning his face upward so he had no choice but to look at her directly.
"Hehe." Zack just smiled stupidly, his eyes crinkling with pure amusement.
Despite her protest, Sasha couldn't help but smile as well. Her expression softened completely as they bickered back and forth, their playful argument filling the quiet room with warmth and familiarity.
After a few moments, Sasha stood and dressed herself properly, smoothing down her clothes with unhurried movements before turning back to him. She helped Zack put on his shirt, her movements gentle and careful making sure his wounds don’t get open up.
Zack grabbed a warm blanket and wrapped it around his upper body, rolling himself into it until it reached his waist, covering his wound area. The cocoon of warmth enveloped him as he let out a comfortable yawn, his jaw cracking softly in the process.
Together, they walked slowly down the hallway with Sasha supporting him. The sound of multiple voices echoed through the corridor ahead, growing progressively louder as they approached the gathering.
.
.
Outside Queen's palace…
"Um, what shall we do?"
"I don't know!"
"Sighhh, Master Zack would get angry, right?"
"Sorry, because of me, even Princess got angry."
Four of Queen's expert guards stood at the palace entrance, their usual composed demeanor completely cracked under the weight of recent events. They fidgeted nervously, shifting their weight from one foot to the other while occasionally glancing at each other for some form of reassurance that never quite came.
"Sorry, dears. Because of this old lady, you girls have to be shamed." Grandmother spoke with a gentle smile, reaching out to grab one of the girls' hands in her wrinkled fingers. "Don't worry about me. I'm already at my wit's end. I don't want to see my little girls be shamed even more in front of others."
"Grandmotherrr…"
The girls looked at her wrinkled face as tears began welling up in their eyes. They didn't know what to do or say. The emotion hung thick in the air, suffocating their breath in its intensity.
"What are you saying, Grandmother?" A voice suddenly came from behind them, filled with enough joyfulness to cut through the tension. "You have very long years to live in future!!! Don't you want to see your little girls get married and have their own little kids?"
"Young Master Oliver!"
The expert guards snapped to attention immediately, standing properly and bowing with respect ingrained through years of training.
"Sorry I couldn't help you out there." Oliver's expression held genuine apology as he approached. "Nat seems to be a little tense, that's all. I'm sorry on behalf of her."
Oliver bowed deeply toward the expert guard who had gotten slapped, showing sincere remorse through his posture.
"No, Young Master, I was the one who was at fault! Please raise your head!" All four expert guards bowed back immediately, their voices overlapping in protests.
"Aren't you a good lad and such a handsome man?" Grandmother spoke in a joyful manner, her eyes beginning to twinkle with mischief. The oppressive tension in the air started to ease with her words. "Tell me, are you interested in one of my girls?"
"GRANDMOTHER!!"
All four girls became embarrassed immediately, their faces flushing red beneath their masks as they shouted in perfect unison.
"Hahaha! Truly a senior can make these stone-faced women show such emotions." Oliver laughed warmly, his whole face lighting up with genuine amusement. "And no, Grandmother, despite them being such beautiful, successful, and strong ladies, I unfortunately don't have any romantic feelings for them."
He paused, allowing a playful smile to cross his lips.
"But I do know some strong grandpas who might interest you. What do you say, Grandmother? Care for a date with them?"
Oliver spoke sweetly as he gently took Grandmother's hand and started walking inside with her, his gesture both respectful and kind in its execution.
"Ho ho ho! You do have a sweet tongue!" Grandmother laughed heartily, clearly delighted by his charm. "Fine! Tell me if you like my girls. They're way too rigid, always worried about this old woman, but they are my sweet little girls underneath all that training."
Grandmother and Oliver talked animatedly as they walked together, their voices fading slightly as they moved further into the palace. The four girls smiled beneath their masks, feeling their hearts lighten considerably. They walked behind the pair quietly, no longer worrying about what was to come.
For the first time in hours, they felt a genuine sense that everything might actually be okay.
