The episode was absolutely amazing. They honored both Fred and Luke so beautifully, I couldn’t hold it together for more than a second. I can’t even imagine how hard it was for them to film this. I’m honestly speechless..all I can say is beautifully done Riverdale, beautifully done.

It often happens that an actor playing a role comes to symbolise the very thing that their character stands for. For years, Luke Perry was the unflappable cool of Dylan McKay - mysterious, brooding, the bad boy. He of the thousand posters, the screaming fangirls. He would take on many other roles following 90210’s end, but to many, he would always be Dylan.

That was until he resurfaced in 2017 to a new generation of teen fans - no longer the bad boy, but Fred Andrews, the only good parent in a town full of bad ones, the reliable, calming presence onscreen that loved his son and loved his town.

Somewhere beneath the layers, of course, was the real Luke - a mentor and ally to the younger cast, who were dealing with the very fame that had seen Luke at his peak. None of us fans ever really knew him, but from glimpses of who he was around others, we could piece a few things together - his kindness, his light and buoyancy, his lack of fear and cynicism. He was loved, so loved, by the cast and crew, and though we didn’t know him as they did, we at least knew that.

Luke was so many things to so many people. What’s consistent, at least, is this: the world wasn’t ready to say goodbye, not this soon. The grief in this is that we thought we had time. We thought we had a little more of Luke to know.

I rewatched 3x17-3x21 over the past few days and now knowing that Alice was working undercover for the FBI, she is much, MUCH worse than I remember. She had sooooo many chances to tell Betty even just the slightest glimpse of her plan, but instead she tried to convince her daughter that she's destined to become a serial killer??? Like how do people stan this???

HONESTLY! the fbi route is probably the only option the writers could think of to get alice out of the brainwash storyline–but it really made everything she did this season 1,000 times worse. as i’ve pointed out, she let teenagers (some of which she’s known since they were children) get their organs harvested. and she just fucking tortured betty. she read her journals, told dozens of people all her secrets, stole her college money, sold her house leaving her with the choice of either moving to the farm or being homeless, repeatedly tried to get her to join the farm, ostracizing her when she didn’t, and said she was like her serial killer father. alice was so god awful to betty that she turned to said serial killer father for comfort. let me repeat: alice was so monstrous to betty that hal was a comfort to her. and if penelope hadn’t bought betty from edgar, she’d be missing parts of her brain. he was going to lobotomize her. she wouldn’t have been in that position if alice wasn’t such a fucking witch. even if the fbi wouldn’t allow alice to tell her everything (which is bs in my opinion), she could have given her some sort of warning. certainly didn’t have to encourage her to come to the farm. or read her journals or steal her college money. she has so little value for betty that she put everything and everyone above her. and her feelings. and her safety. i get that polly is her daughter too and she wants to save her and that charles is her son and she wants to make things up to him but what about betty? why doesn’t she get any of that maternal instinct? betty has stood by her mother through all of the terrible things she’s done to her over the past 3 seasons and she gets nothing in return. alice is a villain that’s treated like a hero. it makes me sick to my stomach

Alice is gonna get her “boyfriend”, son and the cooper house all on a silver platter and maybe 1 episode glazing over Bettys abuse and have her cry while Betty tells her “ItS Ok MuM” and then she will go back to pancakes and orange juice while screwing FP dropping passive aggressive coments about Betty and Jugheads relationship

were both said to her own fucking daughter this poor teenager abandoned by her own mother talking to her like shes the teenager and Bettys the mum in the relationship sleeping around getting tattoos crying to betty any time she stands up for herself, i would say Madchen is doing a great job but she genuinely believes Alice is a good person who deserves her precious FP oh boo hoo she had a kid at 16 why is that an excuse to treat her other 2 children in her life like dirt Alice is just as evil as Hiram and Penelope and its never ever aknowledged, she has abused Betty her whole life the farm just amplified it so all the Falice stans that blame the farm have no case, she ignored Betty literally showing her mother her selfharm and went back into happy family mode, she caused her daughter to selfharm and after being in a horrible asylum and knowing how hard teen pregnancy is still chose to send polly there when she got pregnant oh and then sent betty there aswell where she was shoved against walls and had drugs shoved down her throat
