The intricately woven Chilkat robe, made of mountain goat wool and yellow cedar bark, was purchased by the Taku River Tlingit First Nation in northwestern B.C. for almost $40,000 after it went up for sale online by a Toronto-based auction house last year. Whatās even more frustrating is that I know yāall just gonna ignore this because tumblr is a very white dominated space and some of you donāt think you need to do any introspection at all because you think youāve done the work already. But I am tired of yāall never centering or uplifting studs in lesbian spaces. Theyāre not the shadow of the rest of yāall. Iām pretty sure thereās like 2 Black lesbians, and like 6 Black sapphics on here (me included) and I have made the observation that yāall donāt really make it apparent to include us in sapphic spaces. We donāt get tagged to participate in games or selfie threads, we donāt get reblogged enough or yāall never reblog pictures of Black lesbians or Black sapphic couples because yāall donāt see us as the beauty standard, we get talked over in group settings, we get ignored when trying to make friends with yāall (I have noticed that white femmes tend to acknowledge me more than white butches tho) and it feels very isolating and ostracizing to see us as an afterthought and I genuinely think thatās why thereās hardly any Black lesbians on here or Black sapphics in general. Cus they donāt feel appreciated, seen or centered on here. Yāall treat us like an extension of yāall thatās not worth paying attention to. But the point is, is that studs and Black femmes have rich, beautiful experiences and weāre not the āBlack versionā of anything.

hello, I absolutely hate to do this Again.. this is a bit of a panicked post bc I was given such a short notice, but I have about 20 folks in queue for commissions and I work two other jobs.. my work at publishing is not stable and my sister's high-school just informed me I have until May 20 to cough up 700 usd, which was the accumulation of missed payments in the span of two years..... - I only have 600 usd in savings, and 400-500 usd is for my mom's ongoing glaucoma and diabetes treatments as her vision is worsening- if I didn't have such a big backlog of work I absolutely would just take in more commissions; but I am super overworked- I am the only one in a family of four disabled people- my mom has very limited movement due to a brain injury from sepsis, my dad has a chronic heart condition and my sister is autistic with a super low frustration threshold.. a lot of the house's paperwork falls on me, so. I have no idea what to do or where to get funds in such short notice. I would absolutely be grateful for any tips at all to my tipping jar, anything at all to help get me out of this hole im in. please.

I am a trans girl who lives in a queer camp in Slab City, a homeless squatter town in the Sonoran desert in southern California.
Our camp is dedicated to helping our neighbors and community.
We need food for our pantry, which not only goes to feeding our camp, but feeds many of our neighbors as well.
We need $30 to get to the store to use our food stamps and $20 to get hygiene supplies.
None of us have a regular income but we're all involved in a project to improve our community.

Hey, I know I don't have much of a following here yet, but my partner and I are in a bind. The short version is we had to move in with my partner's parents who are abusive. We have no vehicle & my MIL is only willing to drive me a very short distance at very specific times for work so I've had no luck getting a job, and the longer that goes on the more dependent on my in laws we become, the harder it'll be to ever get away from them, etc...the cycle goes on. We feel trapped. We're at our lowest point.
I know the goal amount is set pretty high, but we don't actually expect to make that much. As long as we get enough for a used car, we can start moving forward, have more job options, regain some independence. Anything else would go towards expenses of moving out.
Please share this even if you can't donate, even if the high goal sounds impossible, literally every cent helps. We're desperate.

Speaker Matt Regier has declared that he will no longer recognize Rep. Zooey Zephyr to speak immediately after the body passed a bill erasing trans people from all Montana code.
Rep. Zooey Zephyr, the first transgender woman elected to Montanaās legislature, attended a Montana House of Representatives session to oppose an anti-transgender bill that would remove references to transgender individuals from more than 40 sections of state code. The bill, which would define sex in a way that excludes trans people, was one of over a dozen heard this year. The previous day, her strong speech against the gender affirming care ban the state had passed led to the Montana Freedom Caucus calling for her censure while intentionally and repeatedly misgendering her. When she punched in, they refused to recognize her to speak, and instead moved forward to pass the bill.
Tensions flared on the House Floor when the entire Democratic Caucus rose to demand that she be permitted to speak. In a strikingly undemocratic move, Republican House Speaker Regier declined to allow it, asserting that he could refuse to allow anyone to speak at his discretion. When Minority Leader Abbott objected, they moved to a packed rules committee meeting, which upheld the ruling. Following that, the Speaker stated it was his intent to no longer allow Representative Zephyr to speak moving forward.
When protesters refused instructions to leave, law enforcement in riot gear continued making arrests and pushed the remaining protesters out
so about 100 people showed up at the house of representatives with a 3,600-signature petition demanding speaker regier let zooey speak. those protestors were met with police in riot gear, and at least ten of the 100 protestors were arrested. i know these numbers sound pretty small, but in a state with about a million residents in total this is a huge deal. the fact that this is making national headlines is a huge deal, too, and i hope that continues because the community that elected representative zephyr is vibrant, giving, and most importantly queer as hell. iām proud to be a part of that community, and we deserve to have the woman we chose to represent us heard
the protestors who were arrested are currently being held at lewis & clark county jail, and you can donate to their verified bail fund here. please spread the word and give what you can! theyāve reached their funding goal, but this fight isnāt over yet
My top surgery has been approved by insurance!!!
The date is set for April 27th however I need some help with costs. I will be out of work for around 5 week for recovery. I live in a different state then my surgeon so I will need to stay in a hotel for two nights incase there is any complications. Luckily the doctors do have a set up with the local hotels for discounts but those are never cheep.
