Taylor Swift tells Magic Radio that 'Wi$h Li$t' was the song that completed the album on 'The Life of a Showgirl':
''That song (Wi$h Li$t) was like the one that made me know we were done with the record. It's really emotional, it's a very accurate stance on where I'm at in life and like- it was a feeling. It was a feeling of like, we're done now.''

“I really am not much of a scroller at all. Like, I don’t have the apps on my phone, or else—like, it’s really effective, they know what I want to see, and they’re gonna show it to me. So I’d rather just spend like those hours doing something else, or like planning something fun for the fans for the way we’re going to put out this album, or baking. I have a lot of hobbies, and I didn’t really have as many hobbies when I spent a lot of time scrolling. It’s been so much fun like kind of mandating a different relationship with social media. Like I can get sent things, and like, I can see, I’ll see your funny reels, you’re hilarious, you’re a great, great follow, but I think that when there’s so much of any type of opinion about me, it’s like, ‘That’s not, don’t put that in my brain.’ Like, anything you put in your brain, it’s gonna internalize. I’m just like, I have a real priority on being like, peaceful and happy. Not all the time, but not over something—I’m not gonna like, you know, have a messy, dramatic feeling about something that doesn’t actually matter and isn’t really real, because there’s a lot of like, we live in a moment of like, a lot of rage baiting and getting attention has now been monetized, so you have to just know what world we live in and choose what reality you want to be in."
— Taylor to Hits Radio UK on her relationship with the internet (x)
“So here’s the thing. Writing songs is one of my favorite things, and I did kind of nurture a fear earlier on in my career that if I ever wasn’t truly miserable in my personal life, would I be able to write? And I think that’s one of the reasons why I love this album so much is, we were like catching lightning in a bottle every time we were writing songs for this record. And I do think that someone in your life who fuels you, who makes you more you—everyone in my life is like, ‘You’ve never been so yourself,’ which is this interesting thing that you’ve been you your whole life, but we are different shades and ourselves at different volume levels, and this person came into my life, and everybody’s like, ‘Yeah, you’ve never been so you.’ And I think that comes through in music. People who fuel you, they fuel every part of you. And they make you walk taller, and they make you present in a more vibrant way, and so hopefully that bleeds into the music too.”
— Taylor to Heart Radio on writing songs when you are happy and fulfilled (x)
"I mean, I just got engaged. These things just happened to me. I know, I’m really excited to, I’m so excited, and I love that you’re excited to, and you would absolutely love him. He’s the most fun person. I’m sure at some point you guys will get to all hang out. […] He was so good [onstage at Eras], he’s such a natural, just in life. He’s just kind of like, never been nervous about anything in his entire life, so it’s pretty fun. He’s all the things. He’s like, fun, and vibrant, and has this infectious personality, and makes me laugh so much, but like, there’s a line in the song that says like, you just wanted a best friend who you think is hot, and it’s kind of like, ‘Well that’s kind of it, you know?'"
— Taylor to Heart Radio on Travis and what's next personally (x)
“Oh it was a blast. It was so fun, but it was also so many other things, you know? When you’re on tour for two years, and every night is a three-and-a-half hour show, the biggest threat, I think one of my favorite things that anyone—a mentor—has said to me, is that Stevie Nicks always said when it came to anything in her personal life, she was like, ‘Just don’t threaten my show. Don’t threaten my show.’ My main goal for two years was get myself to that stage and give everything to that crowd wherever the crowd is for three-and-a-half hours every night. So you’re combatting, you’re like, ‘Don’t get sick. Don’t let any outside noise into your head. Focus on only this one thing. If you do get sick, you’re doing the show anyway. If you’re sore, you’re injured, you’re hurt, you’re pretending that you’re not and doing the show anyway.’ So that was a really, really astonishing challenge, and I’m really proud of how we all handled it, not just me, but also my band, and my crew, and my amazing fellow performers on the stage, like, every one of those people has to be at the top of their game, and operating with that same mentality. ”
— Taylor to Hits Radio UK on the intensity of the Eras Tour (x)
