the doctor wasn’t generally the sort to do his work in public places as opposed to at home, but the weather had been pleasant enough today to tempt him out to one of the little tables outside a coffee shop in the city centre. for the majority of the past few hours, things had been uneventful enough — within the last fifteen minutes, however, dr. jekyll had become increasingly aware of the sensation of a pair of eyes on him, and the longer the stranger stared, the more the doctor’s annoyance swelled. when the man across from him finally spoke, it was a challenge for dr. jekyll to keep the frustration out of his own expression as he raised his eyes.

“Somethin’ I can help you with, officer?” Dealing with cops was always a tricky game, no matter the flavor. On the one hand, they may just be look to straight up bust you, or at best, shake you down to see if you’d give up anyone else, but this wasn’t her first rodeo and she wasn’t naming any names. On the other hand, they could make excellent customers, highly discreet and usually with repeat business. Once you find a trustworthy dealer, why not stick with them? The trick was figuring out which one this guy was and making sure he wasn’t just pretending to be the latter so he could achieve the former.

cerulean orbs peered at the other through dark-tinted sunglasses, lips curled into an obvious poker face. he was a detective. he viewed himself much too high at this point to deal with petty criminals and young shitheads attempting to be the formerly stated. it wasn’t often he was FORCED to replace a deputy’s job whenever the task force needed, but pointless wandering about the town made it more appealing. ‘ you wanna tell me what you’re doin’ all the way out here near nothin’ ?, ‘ deacon inquired. arms crossed and standing still, he was more or less curious than he was caring.
