Aether & Iron fanart
I can make it one more day
So, I’ve been playing Aether & Iron a lot recently, and I really enjoy it.
The main reason is the setting. It has this cool 1930s vibe, with many small historical references I enjoy — comic books, radio shows, and the whole noir-style storytelling.
I also like that all of this is given to a female protagonist. Gia’s design is really good. She looks like a very cool, handsome detective, and I like her personality a lot.
But there is one thing that makes me laugh every time: the pocket system.
In the game, some small items (like a notebook) have to go in the car. Meanwhile, the pockets can hold cash, jerky, shoes, a watch… even a dumbbell?
I don’t know what kind of coat this is, but I want one.
So yes, it felt so hilarious that I had to draw this.

March 2025 Updates
Heyo~
First update of 2025! Lots of parts are moving, lots of assets getting getting pushed to completion.
Editing:
Big update on the editing front: we've finished editing Act 2 and Act 3!
Some levels will need minor changes to match (add a QTE; add or remove a cursor) but the core narrative experience is nailed down. Next up, all the edited text needs to be added to the build, played through, and reviewed. Once we've gone over the feedback and made any necessary changes, we can start prepping the text for lockdown so we can start copyediting (which is both amazing and makes the content feel concrete!)
There's still some writing left to do, mostly with the codex entries. However, they won't require the same level of work or focus.
Art:
Speaking of Act 3, background and CG work now into Act 3! All act 3's backgrounds have been inked, and we're now in the process of colouring them. Meanwhile, our CGs are now focused on depicting the big, climatic moments of the finale.
This year, we'll be focusing on getting levels towards "finished", which involves a lot of assembly work. It also puts things like release dates closer in the mirror.
We have a rough timeline for the remaining work, and we'll be keeping an eye on it to decide when we're ready to commit to release.
just crow things
HEY TFTGS COMMUNITY
You want some MERCH? Yeah? Cool, so here's the thing. (also a poll)
I have been given permission from Jack to make and sell TFTGS merch. It will not be official, need to make that clear, but it will be fan made items for/inspired by the series. Think of it like the type you would see done by artists at conventions. I already have the art for stickers, keychains/charms and pins (even some glow in the dark versions for our beloved trash panda) but I need to narrow down what art pieces you guys would want most as matte prints (probs gonna be around 12x16 or so).

I am turning this to you. What art pieces would you like to physically own? I will be taking notes of what the top 3-4 choices are
Dec 2024
Heyo~
Happy Holidays, from Santa Cleaner and us!
We're winding down for the year to take some deserved rest before we hit the project again in the new year. A lot of our focus these last few months has been on "How many assets can we get ready before the end of the year?" And while we didn't get everything we wanted, we got a lot of what we wanted. In narrative, in art, in audio, and more, to the point it made it difficult to decide which highlights to share this update.
UI:
One of the biggest updates we've done to the game is updating our UI with the help of Sasquatchii's Designs! While there were things we really liked about our previous UI, we wanted a more overall cohesive experience. As such, we decided to give the whole UI an overhaul, and the results are gorgeous!
There's still work being done, but we've been in love with the progress so far.
Editing:
We've also completed most of Act 2's editing! Act 2 is the largest act in the game, with some of the stickier puzzles, but it's also been more fun t work with. In addition to editing our exploration content, we've been able to drill down on the granular levels. Some lines we edited to better match our polished assets, some were to support gameplay changes, and others were in response to questions like, "Does the information feel repetitive?", "How does the flow feel between levels?", or "Can we give this moment more narrative oomph?"
Act 2 also introduces one of our favorite characters, and working on their interactions with Essie has been one of the highlights of editing.
Art:
Art-wise, we're continuing to plug away at zoom-in images! We've gone through Act 1 to update all our flyers, papers, and cryptic images, and are currently working on Act 2's in tandem with editing. A lot of zoom-in images are used for puzzles, so there's been a lot of back-and-forth to make sure they give you the information you need while also interesting to look at.
Audio:
Excitingly, we now have sound effects for all three acts of our game! Putting in SFX is a huge part of assembling and polishing, and it's one of the moments where levels start feeling "finished". We'll start implementing them in earnest in the new year, but here are a few sounds you can expect:
There's one particular sound effect that was a standout for us, intended at a key narrative moment. We can't share it because of spoilers, but we think it'll hit players just as hard as it hit us the first time we heard it.
Thanks for reading, and have a happy rest of the year!
Commissions Time!
Yes, definitely. I intended Lucanis to be panromantic and demisexual.
We won today! 💜🤍🖤
A collection of silly Dragon Age Veilguard doodles I've drawn since finishing the game. Featuring my Rook Eranto Aldwir ✨
People always gloss over how mentally damaging it can be to work in retail. I fucking hate that whenever I say “I could never work in retail again” someone has to reply “You snowflake millennials can’t take a starter job because you have to INTERACT with other people” No. Fuck you. I’ve worked as a planetarium host. I’ve worked as a public speaker. I’ve worked as a tutor and as a student teacher. I can work with people. I can work with crowds. Retail was fucking different. Retail was being treated as a subhuman. Retail was being treated so poorly that you have anxiety attacks before work. Having to work retail was a factor in my last suicide attempt. If I hear you say one fucking word about retail workers playing the victim I will personally break every bone in your body. Fuck You.
The holidays are coming up. Retail workers are going to be spiraling into a nightmare beyond human comprehension. If you’ve worked retail, you know this. If you haven’t, be aware of it. Please be kind to every retail worker you come across. Please be patient and understanding. It is misery out there.
Listen, okay.
A few years ago I went grocery shopping on Christmas Eve because I…frankly, because I forgot it was Christmas Eve. I’m sure a few people got a good laugh when it hit me mid-shop why it was so fucking crowded.
Anyway I went through self-checkout and halfway through my order it imploded.
Someone came over to help me with it and kept apologizing and after realizing this was not going to be as simple as them swiping a card and tapping a number, I said “would it make your life easier tonight if I just did the rest of my order through a regular checkout?” and the attendant said yes AND STARTED CRYING.
I want you, if you have never worked retail, to ask yourself what it would take to push you to the point that a friendly, neutral-value question would make you burst into tears. Imagine it, really think about it. And then realize retail and food service workers go through so much abuse THEIR LIMIT IS PROBABLY HIGHER THAN YOURS. Because they’re used to it.
Be kind. Ask a harried cashier if they need a minute to grab a drink of water. Offer them a smile. If the machine goes down, make it clear you know it’s not their fault. Nothing about your transaction will matter an hour from now—treat it that way. Let them breathe.
(Also, speaking as a veteran of the food service trenches, you know what made me feel A LOT better when I had an asshole customer? Another customer acknowledging that the first customer was an asshole. A simple “wow, who pissed in THEIR Cheerios this morning?” was enough to let me take a breath and relax and let it roll off more easily.)
I’m a professor now, so I deal with people all the time in a variety of contexts, and there is no way I ever want to go back to being a cashier, even at double my current pay (which would never happen of course because retail workers are not only poorly treated, they are severely underpaid).
Can confirm all of the above, I’m never going back to retail.
BE KIND TO RETAIL WORKERS.
It’s been decades since I worked retail. A few years ago Husband and I were shopping at a big box retail store; maybe Target, I don’t remember. What I DO remember is that the loudspeaker clicked on and “Jillian, cashier please” rang across the store.
I don’t know what my face did, but Husband looked at me, then got me the hell out of the store before I had a panic attack.
so, in case you were wondering, that Nevarran Hazelnut Torte from DA: Veilguard is in fact very yummy! this is Emmrich's mother's recipe, which Lucanis makes for Rook, taken straight from the game!
recipe is transcribed as-is from the game below, with any additions/changes we made [in brackets].
