Callie and Marie always did their agent work together, Marie covering as Callie jumped in. This meant Callie ended up getting roughed up more. Whenever she got injured, Marie would be much more distressed (and self loathing over her lack of ability to protect Callie), but she got better at hiding this reaction as she got older.
Captain 3 is autistic. She often forgets to eat until she’s in the middle of her agent work, so Callie and Marie often bring emergency snacks. The TarTar injury doesn’t leave a scar so much as it renders half her face dead. Her hero gear was modified so that it would keep ink consistently flowing through that part of her face, and it also works as her hearing aid.
Four is just a sweetheart. I don’t have much to say, but she forgave Callie much sooner then Callie forgave herself (especially after the damage the bomb rushes did to 4’s arm), and all of her scars came from her helping others. Her long tentacle in the back will wag when she’s happy.
8 really didn’t mesh with octarian society, which is a big reason why she left. She doesn’t like cramped or cold spaces. She’s ambidextrous but not by nature, and her first celebrity crush was Marie, and then Pearl. She also has a bit of low self esteem due to not being useful, and stays at NSS because it’s the only positive impact she thinks she can have on others lives (though she stops in order to pursue a career in writing later).
neo 3 was once a normal inkling, until he came into contact with some fuzzy ooze after running from a small salmonoid. The salmonoid ate the ooze before it fully transformed him but he lost his identity. He’s been living in the wilderness with little buddy and a school of salmonoid for a few years since, then he met cuttlefish, and unlike 8 doesn’t really care about his past. He’s just a little feral. His upgraded hero suit also comes with a fancier prosthetic leg.
