Like, no this character isn't using a pacifier or gripping onto a plushie or padded or wearing childing clothing, but they are hiding behind their most trusted person in the friend group, either a parental figure or close friend, when things feel too big and new.

They aren't crying out for mommy or daddy, or throwing a tantrum, but they're sobbing to themselves in the middle of the night, clutching their pillow like a person, because everything feels too big and too much

They aren't burying themselves in pacifiers, teethers, or plushies, but they're chewing on their shirt or hand when they get anxious and hugging their pillow to their chest like a lifeline

☆ Little age: 3-6 - It would really depend on his mood and whether he is feeling more independent or not, and also who his caregiver is.

☆ Triggers: Exhaustion after missions, sometimes after using corruption, if he is being scolded as well or if he feels really comfortable and relaxed.

☆ Hidden Habit: He tries to pretend he doesn’t regress sometimes and act independent- but people notice anyways.

☆ Comfort Items: A red fox plushie that reminds him of his hair, and soft blankets.

☆ When he is overwhelmed, sitting on his caregivers lap and spending some time to just cuddle and relax can calm him quickly.

☆ Sometimes he gets shy around his caregiver- he needs someone who understands that and can help make him feel more comfortable.

☆ He likes when his caregiver is more relaxed and goes with the flow- he doesn’t always like following a specific set of rules and prefers doing it his way.

☆ Instead of holding his caregivers whole hand, he will only hold their finger while they walk.

☆ He hates naps but will fall asleep within five minutes if you rub his back.

☆ When he is grumpy he will cross his arms, pouting and mumble “I ain’t talking to you…” and then crawl into his caregivers lap five minutes later.

☆ He thinks bandaids make everything better. Even emotional stuff… if he sees his caregiver is sad, he will still just give them a bandaid.

Age regression is always portrayed as this pure super cute, electable comforting thing in social media and I’m sorry but, I’m tired, there’s sometimes it’s not. Sometimes age regressing is extreme feelings, it’s hitting your head and screaming in pain and laying on the floor and kicking and wanting it to stop. Sometimes it’s shaking in anxiety, biting your hands and stimming uncomfortably. Sometimes theres no comfort, sometimes the triggers are not good, and that’s fine too. Age regressing does not mean pure state, it means a much younger one. Just that. It can be violent and ugly too

Sometimes it’s crying like you’re in kindergarten again and you’ve been betrayed or abandoned or a million different other devastating things. And you don’t know what to do other than cry. All you can do is cry and feel so, so terribly helpless.

Sometimes it’s being really scared if the dark and wanting someone to hold your hand and really, really wanting to just be held but nobody would ever do that for you so you’re just stuck in ache and longing, stuck as a helpless child who’s scared but can’t voice it, with too many expectations and pressures pushed onto you.

Sometimes, age regression is just the coping mechanism it is. It isn’t always something fun and cute. Sometimes you regress while grieving(or you regress because you’re grieving), or while angry(or because you’re angry), or a million other emotions and stressors. Sometimes it hurts like fucking hell, because you’re hurting but you’re also just a kid and you can’t handle this and someone help!

Age regression can hurt like hell.
