First time roller skating? Early 80s. (we won't count those first pair of weird metal things that you strapped to the bottom of your shoes with the metal wheels) Didn't take long to learn how not to fall backward on my butt. After that I was jumping all the speed bumps and doing sweet 360 slides. Get the Look 🛼🛼

The first time I traveled out of state? When we moved from Jacksonville Florida to Georgia. I was not happy at all about it. But at the same time, I was a curious 4 year old. Florida was all that I knew existed. For me leaving Florida was like leaving Earth. Get the Look 🐊🌞🌇🚤🧳

Did anyone in the 80s and 90s not know a woman named Tammy with a boyfriend that had a Firebird? Loud but friendly. Protective of kids, but really bad choice in dudes. I feel like there was a Tammy in every neighborhood.

First time I went flying? I don't know? Sometime in the late 80s with whatever church we were attending at that time. I think we just circled around. I didn't see much. I was too short. 💲 But I got a sweet pair of pilot's wings to pin onto my skin. Get the Look 🏯🎏🍡🦖🤺

First block party? 1992/1993? Had just moved to a new town. I had never experienced anything like that before. I was like "Is this what it's like to be middle class? We moving on up!" These people having parties for no reason at all. It kind of reminded me of a family reunion. With complete strangers. Which let's be honest is basically a family reunion. only complaint - why are the hot dog buns always so dry?

Favorite vehicle? Jeep. Which Jeep would I get? 1986 Jeep CJ. When Jeeps were Jeeps and men were men. 🧔🏻‍♂️😎💪🏻 Nothing beats a vehicle you can drive through the mud and then hose out. Get the Look 🚙

80s east coast USA went through a scooter trend. My older brother had one. They were in movies. They trended hard for awhile. Then they just disappeared and people started making fun of them. Asia had the right idea. They kept them. Now scooters are coming back. Knock em all you want. They get places better than cars. Get the Look

I had a pet fish once. A Siamese Fighting Fish. One of my other siblings had one too. They fought till the death. Then my little bro got a Shark Fish. It took out everything in the tank. 💀 Get the Look 🐟🦈🐡

What was Christmas like in the 90s? Well, there was Christmas at school. Then there was Christmas at home. Then you had Christmas with your cousins. Then there was Christmas with your grandparents. Then there was Christmas at your dad's job. Pretty sweet.

Today people laugh at someone wearing tiny shorts. Especially a guy. But back in the 80s, we laughed at anyone that wore long shorts. I remember when we transitioned from or short gym shorts to longer shorts. We were about to play basketball and the coach passed out the new shorts. The new shorts touched our knees. Everyone hated them. "How are we gonna play in these things? How can I move around in this? I feel like I'm wearing a dress. What if they catch on my knees? " Eventually we just got use to them. We had no choice. But, if we did have a choice - you would be wearing short shorts right now. 🤣

I use to try to escape the world by shopping. 🤣 Imagine walking right into the heart of the world to escape it. Such an odd practice. Get the Look 🛍️🏬🛒

It's funny how people view us. I grew up in the 80s and 90s a shy kid. I didn't talk to anyone, because I didn't know how to talk to anyone. I was awkward and afraid of social interaction. Everyone that I met later that I use to go to school with had no idea I was shy. They all thought I was just a snob. Weird.

My dad loves frogs. We had frog themed items all over our house. In the yard. Everywhere. Favorite one? The taxidermy giant frog that was playing the bongos dressed like a Mexican near the backdoor.

First skateboard? 1989/1990ish? Kool-Aid man skateboard that my mother got by sending in some insane amount of proof of purchase codes cut out of the back of kool-aid packs. The board sucked, but it could grind. It was covered in plastic bumpers. Get the Look 🛹😎☠️

First time I rode on two wheels? Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Early 80s. Some guy had a moped. He gave me a ride on the back of it. I was scared. Afterward though I wanted to ride it again. But I never got to. He was just gone. And I never saw him again.
