✧        ˖      ・ﾟif you knew rue at all you would know that if it was past 6pm on a random weekday there was a very good chance she would be in her apartment probably editing pictures in her pajamas… and today was no different. except for the fact that she was still dressed from being in class only a few hours ago (which she would silently thank herself for in just a few minutes).  the knock at her door caused the blonde to jump slightly, her laptop almost sliding off of her lap at the sudden jerking motion she made. usually someone unexpectedly knocking at her door was enough to send rue sneaking back into her bedroom to pretend she wasn’t home but the sing-song voice that followed the absurd knocks caused the opposite to happen. “ i could be ” she called out from beyond the door, waiting just a beat before she opened it to find andy standing in front of her “ you know i have a very happening social life. ”  

andy rolls his eyes light-heartedly at her response and waits, a little impatiently, for her to open the door. “oh, is that so?” he crosses his arms against his chest, playful smirk on his lips as she finally comes into the doorway, “i thought photography nerds didn’t have social lives.” andy can’t help but crack a small smile at the sight of rue and judging by her attire, maybe she did have plans tonight. andy hopes that’s not the case. holding up a little paper envelope containing his new prints, he dangles it up for her to see. “fresh out the shop. i haven’t done a first look ‘cause i wanted to do it with you.” he tilts his head in question and looks at rue for an answer. “so.. can i come in?”

sometimes emi has moments of inspiration where she wants to try something new. it occurs at the most obscure times and today it was due to binge watching bon apetite videos. with the kitchen counter covered in a variety of sweet ingredients, she whisks away at a bowl that’s suppose to contain cupcake batter. ( what’s actually in there only god knows ). when she hears the front door open, she lets out a dramatic exhale-- somewhere between relief and impatience. “oh, finally you’re home, dude,” emi calls out from the kitchen, pushing a piece of hair from her face with the back of her hand. “i’ve made the astounding discovery that i am not, nor will i ever be, claire saffitz. my night is therefore ruined.” @socialcasualty​

✧        ˖      ・ﾟ“ good luck trying to convince anyone of anything in yourstate. ” mina rolled her eyes slightly at emi’s reaction to her comment, as if theincredibly busy bartender was even paying any sort of attention to theirconversation. if anything, he was probably more concerned with the potentialfight that seemed to be slowly escalating in the opposite corner of the room. onlymen would feel the need to fight with each other in a bar located inside amall. with a small shake of her head the brunette reached out and took herglass in between her hands, taking a few small sips as emi spoke, doing herbest to seem as uninterested as possible but the alcohol making it almostimpossible. “ yeah i know when your birthday is believe it or not ” the wordscame out of her mouth before she had a chance to stop them, the four drinksalready in her had turned her usually steel trap of a mouth into an flowingriver. her next question had caught mina off guard, since the two of them hadreunited they had done everything in their power to not let conversationslinger on to much so this was… bizarre. “ eric and gil don’t get out of work foranother hour and i didn’t feel like going back to my empty apartment alone. whatabout you? ”

emi frowns at mina’s comment even though she knows she’s speaking the truth. “i’m an actress-- i happen to be very good at convincing and stuff.” she juts out her chin slightly in offence. growing jealous at the fact mina had alcohol in front of her with every passing minute, emi glances to see where the bartender was. “weird, i thought you’d have forgotten by now as with everything else,” she mumbles in reply to mina’s birthday comment. truthfully, she remembers things about mina as well, but she won’t admit to it. “oh... right.” emi realizes that whenever the boys weren’t over at emi’s and eric’s apartment, they were probably hanging out with mina. somehow they even shared best friends without being friendly themselves. emi didn’t know how that made her feel. all she knew was that fate had seemed to have this planned from the get-go. “i’m not alone,” she’s quick to say before glancing back at the embarassing crowd of her theatre program, “though i guess i’d rather be.”

andy has a bad habit of showing up announced. one minute he’s in bed swearing he’s not going out and the next he’s already out the door. tonight he arrives at rue’s place and without so much as a warning, starts knocking wildly on her door. in his defence, he actually has a reason for seeking out rue’s company this time-- his latest film rolls got developed and andy had a stack of prints he wanted her opinion on. “ruuuue,” he calls out in sing-song, waiting for the other to open up. “you’re not busy, are you?” @hallvcination​

mina !

✧        ˖      ・ﾟ the sound of the stool scraping the floor beside her as someone who pulled it out shook mina from her own thoughts, a sour look instantly coloring her face. the fact that someone was finally using the empty stool beside her meant the rest of the bar was full, hopefully this person wasn’t staying. maybe they just needed an empty space to squeeze in and get a new drink from the now slightly frazzled looking bartender but as the person sat down and seemed to slump over on themselves after ordering she knew that wasn’t the case. out of sheer curiosity mina turned to them slightly, if they were going to get sick she wanted to be prepared to jump out of the way, but the moment her eyes met their she knew it has been a bad idea. of course out of all people who would happen to appear next to her when she was trying to unwind it was emi. mina was about to ignore her, shoot down the rest of her drink and disappear out of the bar until her comment hit the brunette’s ears despite their loud surroundings. “ i assumed i was safe in here considering last i knew you’re not even close to being 21 yet. ”

tipsy from the drinks she’d had earlier, mina’s comment was met with a very expressive ‘shhh’. “are you trying to get me in trouble?” she dramatically glanced around to make sure the bartender hadn’t heard but they were busy off attending to other customers. “if i get caught i’m telling them you sold me a fake.” her pettiness only amplified by the buzz as she gave the other girl a look of warning. emi considered ignoring mina for a moment, but then again, emi rarely sat quietly. “and for the record, i’m turning 21 next month, so i’m, like, practically there already.” at least mina hadn’t forgotten how old she was. “anyways, whatever. why are you drinking by yourself?”
