I love arts and crafts. I’m a former wildlife caretaker. I’m multiply disabled*, and really appreciative of what creativity I can still manage.

Also, I’m progressive/leftist, but this isn’t a political blog (excluding the fact that my existence is political).

*I accept polite questions, especially if you want to write disabled characters.

Autoimmune (UCTD).

Unknown genetic disorder affecting connective tissue/multiple organ systems and causing dysautonomia.

**We aren’t host-centric, and yet none of the others really want to talk to strangers. So, you know, I (Collie) run the blog. If the others ever decide they want to be perceived, I’ll tag it.

I’m a semi-ambulatory wheelchair user. My medical history includes:

Muscular atrophy and seizures (medication-caused)

Peripheral neuropathy (malabsorption caused a B12 deficiency).

Quality of life will once again be much better as we have acquired a dog. 

Meet Effy (name acquired by family vote). 

She has white markings, unlike Mila, but she is a bit of a clone. I was partial to the apricots/reds, but she is a darling. She fell asleep in my lap within ten minutes. So, I was claimed. 

She is so small, she may as well be a loaf of bread. So, now she’s gotten Puppernickel as a nickname. I have no idea which of us had that thought, but we were compelled to speak it into existence.

my friend's discord server has a "proof of touch grass" channel where they post pics of them doing regular activities outdoors/in public. i think many online spaces could benefit from such a thing

when i was super depressed - like struggling to eat anything barely able to get out of bed to pee depressed - my good friend asked me every day to send her a picture of me holding a leaf and a picture of a meal i was eating and it helped me significantly

(also, she was never judgey - if my meal was a single potato chip she would simply say good job eating a potato chip today <3 )

which is to say, i agree proof of touch grass is a good idea for online spaces

I think a lot of people would benefit from unlearning the idea that casual sex is inherently disgusting, harmful, or immoral just because they personally don’t want to partake in it. You can stand up for sexual safety and consent without acting like people who enjoy fucking strangers are degenerates. I take no issue with anyone asserting boundaries or stating that they’re not interested in certain kinds of sex or even sex as a whole. But when you condemn or express disgust at others for engaging in consensual sex, that’s when you start to sound like a puritan.

Btw, this includes self-proclaimed “feminists” who shame and lecture women for giving men “access” to their bodies. Bodies are not commodities and sex is not inherently transactional. You don’t lose anything by having sex on purpose with a person you find attractive. Sex is not some metaphysically transformative thing that bonds you to the other person forever. It is literally not that deep.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little annoyed that despite the vast amount of project hail Mary spoilers I saw on tumblr in the last few weeks (and yes I know that not blocking the tag was my own fault) I did not see a single post about the huge flashing light scene in the middle of the film. Hell, it was set right in the middle of a very important plot scene. But the flashes were so bright and so intense that I had to close my eyes and cover them with my hands for I think nearly two minutes. And I'm not even epileptic! I just get migraines. Thankfully I went to see it with a friend who could tell me what was happening in the scene.

So, I'm going to warn people who may not have seen the movie yet. When the ship is pulling away from the green planet, the music will calm down, then a bang will be heard. That's when the flashing lights start. They'll pretty pretty much keep going until there's a scene change and the audio cuts out. That's when you can open your eyes.
