Head Cha La Volume 1 Part 4, HQ scans, English translation
pgs. 46-62
The segment ends with the Yokoshima Sisters ranking their favorite characters.
Head Cha La Volume 1 Part 3, HQ scans, English translation
pgs. 30-45
A funny comic starring Piccolo and Gohan, and then we get a peek into the minds of DBZ fangirls in 1989 and 1990. They were pretty much Tumblr before Tumblr, don't you think?
Head Cha La Volume 1 Part 2, HQ scans, English translation
pgs. 16-30
Head Cha La, Volume 1, cover-pg.15
HQ scans English translated

Having finished translating the manga in the first volume of Head-Cha-La, I've started trying to translate the articles, a task which has reminded me:
Time is a circle. The kind of Tumblr fangirl who overanalyzes scenes in her favorite show to "prove" her favorite ship has existed long before this site. The thirsting over characters is the same across time and space. Fangirls have, and will always, have fun being Not Normal about their favorite things. A Japanese fangirl wrote about wanting to drink Goku's bath water 35 years ago, and I have proof.
Silliness is eternal. You cannot stop it by slapping it with a "cringe" label. It will outlive you. It will outlive us all.
A Vegeta and Goku Roleswap AU Doujinshi that I translated to English for DBFM Group. The available chapters cover the Dragon Ball storyline, but this time it's Vegeta's childhood and adventure with Bulma.
Please enjoy Dragon Garou Lee's "Dragon Ball Sai!" This artist is really good at imitating Toriyama-san's art style.

Hii, hey has anyone managed to find scans of Head-cha-la with better quality? Bc the only ones I've found are very difficult to understand some of the sentences.
Yes, the Dragon Ball Fan Manga group has access to high quality scans, but the file sizes are massive. I have a "script" of the translation for the first volume set up but nothing is typeset yet.
Typesetter Wanted
We're looking for a volunteer typesetter for Head Cha La and potentially other Dragon Ball fan manga. You should have enough hard drive space (at least a couple GB) for a collection of high quality scans. You should also be able to edit with text in Photoshop.
If you fit the requirements but have never worked as a typesetter before, that's fine as long as you're willing to learn! I'm far from being an official translator, myself. You will be one of the first people to see the translations. You can choose which work you'd like to (and are able to) take on.
The Dragon Ball Fan Manga team is welcoming so don't be shy. Send me a message if you're interested and I can put you in contact with the team.
We still haven't been able to put out translated DB Fan Manga, due to the shortage of typesetters. So that's why this blog hasn't been updating. People have busy lives.
December is very busy for me, too. Even though I haven't been able to keep a regular job, I try my best to make self employment income. So, apologies if it takes months for anything to come out.

Update: I've reworked my translations for the Head Cha La mini volume (Volume "0"), so they should be more accurate now. I expect the volume will be uploaded once the typesetting is done. Stay tuned

The Piccolo we know and love made his first animated appearance in Dragon Ball, 37 years ago today! It has been so fun to watch Piccolo grow into one of my many favorite characters in the DB universe!
Head Cha La Update!
I've been put in contact with a scanalation team, and we're going to be working on higher quality scans of Head Cha La to be translated to English! So no more Microsoft Paint edits!
I'll update this blog with info of where to read when they're available.
"Hang in There, Nervous One!" by Hikaru Hoshi. Everyone wants to give Krillin a kiss!
"Farewell, Humanity" by Ayu Hirano, a Dragon Ball Z parody.
"Men are Difficult!" by Hoshi Hikaru. Yamcha and Krillin fight over Goku. Piccolo is not impressed.
