Nitpicked Picnic ❤ Josh & Henry
“The second courtyard sounds splendid” Henry raised his free arm to shield his face from the sun burning down on them. A group of students were chasing each other with buckets filled with water. It seemed like the whole of Shield was outside enjoying one of these rare good days.
Henry enjoyed feeling the comforting warmth of Josh’s hand around his and only let go reluctantly to help spreading the blanket on the ground. They sit down next to each other and Henry pulled the bag closer to take a look inside. He started pulling sandwiches and fruits out and placing them on the covers. “That really looks delicious” he smiled and took one slice of watermelon “I don´t remember when was the last time I ate these” he laughed and leaned closer to Josh handing him one slice too. “They are so messy” he bit in his own slice, the juice slowly dripping down his chin “not very practical” he joked before taking another bite, not caring about the fluid driping on his shirt.
Going out isn´t one of the things Henry enjoyed doing, but since he knew Josh, even before they had started dating, the other student had made him do a lot of things he wasn´t used to.
"They were my favorite when I was little," He grinned at Henry's sloppy mess from the watermelon, eyeing the juice on his chin. Almost nonchalantly, Josh leaned forward, ghosting his lips along Henry's chin to catch the liquid before it fell from his face. He ended it with a rumble of a chuckle and gentle nip on Henry's bottom lip, before pulling away casually, though sitting incredibly close to Henry still, remarking, "You're messy," and taking a bite of his own watermelon, licking his lips and reaching for some napkins when his own watermelon decided to explode the way Henry's had.
He pulled over the drinks, grabbing a Mike's Lemonade, and taking just a few sips as he watched Henry with the watermelon, he grinned, "My aunt used to take me out to the docks at the beach during summer," His voice was wistful as he thought about it. "We'd spit the seeds into the ocean and toss bread at the fish and walk on the beach and.." He tried to be casual, hiding a nervous grin as he unwrapped the foil around his sandwich and Henry's as well, setting napkins down beside it.
"And.." He stared down at the sandwiches. "We should do something like that this summer. Like.. go somewhere together. Near a beach or..." He looked back at Henry now, wiping some juice from the blonde's chin with his thumb. "Wherever you wanna go."
