Hello friends!
I got to start my new bio notebook today and I am LOVING how neat this first page turned out.
Of course, the rest of the book will look terrible, but at least I’ve got one decent page! 😂
I’m almost finished with my university application, which is a very scary thought! Hopefully I’m good enough to get offers from the places I’ve applied for.
Where are you applying to go to? Do you have any idea what you want to study?

Hi everyone! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve had a really lovely summer holidays, but I go back to college on Friday so I thought now would be a good time to get back into posting.
Last week I picked up the last of my school supplies, so I decided that I’d share my favourite things with you.
Bottle: my old bottle was getting a bit gross so I picked a new one up from Tesco. It’s metal and a kind of rosy silver colour - it’s not yellowy enough to be rose gold!
Notebooks: the blue book is my biology book, and it’s an Oxford hardback lined and margined notebook. It’s the same book I used for biology last year, but the old one is almost finished. The periodic table book is my chemistry book (no surprises there) and I bought it from Tiger. Again, it’s the same book I used for chemistry last year. I have a folder for psychology instead of a book, but it’s already in my bag as it’s the one I was using last year.
Hilighters: I have quite a few highlighters this year! I have my slimline Bic ones for regular notes and my big Stabilo sets for things like essay planning and diagrams. Ok, so maybe I bought the Stabilo ones because they were half price but I know I’ll get plenty of use out of them.
Pens: I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to pens, so I use the standard Bic biros. I tend to use black for general writing and exams, and then the coloured ones for note taking.
Pencils: my favourite pencils are standard HB pencils, but I have a preference for the all-black version as I find that they are nicer to write with.
Hole punch: in previous years I haven’t bothered with a hole punch, but I have a new psychology teacher this year and I don’t know if she holepunches our handouts for us, so I thought it was best to be prepared in advance.
Ruler: it’s a standard Oxford 15cm ruler. There’s not really much else to say!
Whiteboard pens: I like to use the Edding 360 pens - they’re great for precision work, easy to hold and write with and last for ages!
Calculator: I’m sticking with my beloved Casio scientific calculator - this baby saw me through my GCSEs and it’ll get me through my A Levels too!
Pencil case: I have a relatively big pencil case because I carry so much stuff around! It’s plain black and I got it from Wilkinson’s. It does the job, and it’s pretty sturdy too.
I’m debating whether or not to pick up a planner for the year - I don’t want to buy it and not use it, but I have a feeling I might need one. What do you guys think I should do?
My timetable was released today and I’m actually really happy with it! I don’t have any lessons on Tuesdays which is cool, and I have a four hour break on Wednesdays - perfect for a long haul study! The rest of the week is looking pretty good too, so I reckon I got lucky with it.
Have any of you done your back to school shopping yet? What do you like to use? Do you have any particular brands that you absolutely love? And are you pleased with your timetable, or are you less than impressed?
I can’t wait to find out what some of you like to use!
Love Holly xx
こんばんは dear friends!!
I’m absolutely terrified for my speaking exam tomorrow. I know the vocabulary and grammar pretty well but I have awful public speaking anxiety and it’s really affecting me. The only things getting me through all of this stress are 1) once it’s done, it’s done and 2) my boyfriend is being sweet and supportive and promising lots of cuddles tomorrow once I’m out of the exam😂
I have end of year exams next week that I’m working really hard on, so I’ll try and keep you updated on that as much as possible. Do any of you guys have exams that you’re studying for?
Also, I’m hoping to post some of my favourite revision tips in a massive post sometime soon, so keep your eyes peeled!!
Love, Holly xx
Good evening everyone! It’s been a while since my last post but I’ve been so busy, I just haven’t had the time!
I’m working on my Japanese speaking exam piece at the moment - it’s difficult but I’m getting there. I won’t lie, I’ll be very glad to stop doing the lessons at the end of this school year. I enjoy it a lot, but it takes up so much of my time and I’ll need that to focus on my A Levels! I plan to continue learning Japanese in my own time, but it won’t be as much of a focal point in my studies after the end of May.
What’s everyone been working on recently? And what kind of exams are you studying for at the moment?
Love Holly x
hi, i’m a new studyblr 🐣
hello all! my name is ashleigh and i’m currently a senior in high school. i’ve has multiple different studyblr accounts in the past, but i decided to make a new one. i’m a sideblog, so all notes and follows will come from @teatreeglow, my self care blog.
i decided to make a studyblr because recently i’ve really been struggling with motivation and suffering from major senioritis. i know i have lots of AP exams and finals in the next few weeks and that i really need to get on studying for them, so i knew studyblr would be a perfect resource!
next year, i am going to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study actuarial science, and i’m so excited! my hobbies include photography, exploring nature, bullet journaling, and singing. i love the color yellow, caesar salads, and the 1975.
please give me a follow, and let’s go on this journey together! reblog to help me find more mutual!
below is a small, definitely not finished, list of studyblrs that inspire me. i can’t wait to meet more people from this community and get motivated!
@studyign @studyquill @academiix @rylie-studies @studylustre @catstudyblr @studysimplicities @michellenstudies @theorganisedstudent @the-distracted-student @juliasacads @medustudies @apricot-studies @actuarystudies
Welcome to the studyblr community, Ashleigh! Thank you for tagging me!
Welcome to the club Ashleigh!
Going over the uni prospectuses I’ve already been sent - there’s another 2 that are digital only, so that brings my total potential universities up to 7! I’m so excited to go and visit them all, although I will say that one of them has already stolen my heart a little bit - let’s hope the open day doesn’t change my mind! Where do you all go/want to go to university?
Also, not study related but I’m going on my first proper date on Tuesday! I’m nervous but very excited, he’s so sweet and funny and I really like him 😊
Working on some organic chemistry practice questions this evening - I can’t wait for the Easter Holidays to get here so I can study, read, play my flute AND sew without feeling bad about doing one over the others 😂
Chemistry isn’t my strongest subject, but I’m working hard on it to make sure I improve. Does anyone have any tips on revising A level chemistry?
Love Holly xxx
A little bit of mood lighting and biology revision is a nice way to wind down a Wednesday evening! Featuring the book I’m currently reading - The Book Of Life by Deborah Harkness. It’s the third in a trilogy that is FAB!! Dying to get these notes done so I can finish it and move on to the next book on my (very big) TBR pile!
Also, I’m seeing Panic! at the Disco tomorrow night at the O2 and I am so excited!!!
Song: Kiss And Tell - You Me At Six
It’s a combination of online Biology revision and script work today! Our college is putting on a performance of Julius Caesar next week, and even though I’m only a background character I’m loving the process of putting everything together. I’m definitely considering doing next year’s play!
I’m a little down at the moment, but I think that’s because I’m nervous about next week’s shows as well as a heap of tests from all of my subjects. I’ll work through it, because I know that everything I do is for my future, my goal - and I’m not letting that go for anything!
Song: VCR - Creeper
Getting up to date on my biology notes, while simultaneously revising for an in-lesson assessment on Wednesday. It’s not the most riveting of topics, but at least the plant section is almost done and I can get onto the human diseases section soon!
Song: Mister Asylum - Highly Suspect
Working on some Japanese before my dialogue assessment tomorrow! Squeezing in some kanji practice while I’m at it.
Song: My Blood - twenty one pilots
