hey! i love the rug you are crocheting. do you have a tutorial or any tips you could share for the technique of crocheting yarn over fabric like that? i knit and quilt but don’t have a ton of weaving or crochet experience, but i love the look and want to make a rug for my room. thank you <3

I guess if I had to put it in quilting terms it’s sort of like the batting stage, in that the pieces on the outside (the quilt and the backing vs the piece and the working yarn) are your main focus and the inside (the batting vs the rag yarn) are more for substance. How familiar with crochet are you? Ik you said not a ton but how much is that lol

btw I’ve found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:

Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!

especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it’s really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
