He hadn’t meant to make such a noise, especially in a place where such a thing was taboo… but when Rha’bn had gotten a little antsy inside the inner pocket for an unknown reason, it had become difficult to keep him hushed.Â
Eventually it seemed Rha’bn had become besides himself with irritation, expanding his feathers out directly into the bare underarm’s of his master; the conclusion was simply that Salim had erupted into ticklish laughing. The bird had already been seized by hand, silencing the laughing just as a neighbouring gent had begun to reprimand him.
Offering an apologetic smile, Salim bowed his head gently.Â
“My apologies!”, he whispered, “I’ll do my best to not disturb your… reading”
With that, he returned his bright green eyes to the small companion fidgeting within his fingers, rubbing gently, soothingly at the feathers hoping to calm him. What had made him work up so suddenly? It had been like he’d sensed something irregular around him and was trying to warn the warm-skinned man that was his home.Â
“My friend here doesn’t usually act up… he apologises too”
“Ah...”
He had assumed that the giggling was because he had read something humorous, not because there had been something squirming inside of his coat. Leaning forward in his seat and setting his text aside, the djinn seemed amazed. His awakening wasn’t recent and there was still much he needed to learn, but he had yet to meet someone that kept a bird in their clothing. It seemed uncomfortable, but he wasn’t one to judge.
“It’s quite alright. I didn’t realize you had a companion with you. Are you sure he’s alright? I always thought it was best to trust an animal’s intuition.” He leaned a little closer, a finger moving towards the bird out of curiosity.
