Shen twins (milf & wife beams) AU
The long awaited (not really) dump is here. Thanks to all who voted <3
Let's start at the beginning:
Shen Jiu used to have a twin - he died and SJ & YQ have to bury him in the snow. Time moves on as regular, except ☝🏻 half of the dearly departed twin's soul stays behind and attaches itself to SJ - the other half gets transported to Earth and lives as Shen Yuan (with great health complications that kill him along with the pidw novel outrage)
Essentially most SJ's (and later SQQ's) qi deviations are caused by his body trying to host 2 cores (SY's half soul tries to established it's own cultivation while recording things that happen -> SJ's cultivation gets both leeched from and fed by the other, while parts of his (their) core rejects the unknown bits. It's a whole merging and tearing apart thing SJ just lives with for years.) This comes to a head when SY's second half gets boomeranged together with the bit in SQQ - parts combine, he tries to reconcile with both sets of memories and his new system (that got kinda broken) - some time later, when he's started to fiddle with the "controls" - he's trying to get SJ/SQQ to notice he's there - he triggers another qi deviation and SQQ just kinda splits:
SQQ/SJ has been feeling off for a while, like he's suddenly regained something lost. Maybe he's 9% aware there another person in him (somehow he's not distressed). He's not alone! Doesn't mean the deviation is fun - it sucks ass and piss. But his brother(?!?) is back!
He (SY) doesn't have a handle on the body controls yet, so his head meets the floor (and then they get stuck for like 30 minutes). SQQ is not sure if he should beat his stupid brother or hug him and never let go.
Anyways they get to deal with that. They are also identical to the bone (to the cultivation - the amalgam core goes to 2 goldens perfectly). Except SY does not need glasses. (Only a milf gets them)
Moving to the milf & wife beams. I did make the glasses AU before, so I'll just slot that here: SQQ gets glasses (a bit before SY "arrives"):
He activates his milf beam on MQF the second it gets established. He does not have a system to tell him he has that (don't worry part of SY's system gets left behind for him, so he'll get fun quests and points too - when he eventually checks them). Other victims of the beam include SQH (he recalls his scary hot math teacher), YQY (nothing changes) and WQW (not depicted because I'm not dropping a new design on top of this). Anyways, SQH gets an eyefull at some point (small scenario pusher activates):
SY gets wife points in this AU - he collects them by basically just existing (SQQ gets points by coddling/mommying SY). Some examples: 1 SY has very poor coordination in the beginning, so he eats messily 2 He has no idea how to dress in this world, SQQ does it for him 3 the baby deserves snacks and SQQ's purse is heavy.
SQQ also just drags his bb brother around (everyone has questions - he answers none of them, maybe even insists they are the same person).
Finally to the wife beam! It's very powerful! SY just wants to make friends/nerd out (about animals, plant & Binghe)/help SQQ&YQY to reconcile. The results are mixed:
(SY gets the idea to have SQQ call YQY a good boy - he does after several years; YQY qi deviates so hard the 12 peaks become like 4 and a half - NONE OF THIS HAPPENS I JUST THOUGHT IT'D BE FUNNY).
LQG thinks he's caught some awful disease and takes himself to the hospital - they find a brewing qi deviation and solve it (no cave death for you in this life). The problem does not go away.
Binghe will marry the other shizun, he's decided. The how is still in progress.
And finally some bonus ones:
The twins can now talk via their linked systems - they are super mean. And they have so many issues. <3
