My personal headcanon is that there's a Power Word for every possible state a person can be in.
Sure, wizards focus on the combat useful ones like "Power Word Kill" or "Power Word Pain", but there's also "Power Word Mascot Costume", "Power Word Gay", "Power Word Having A Nice Cup Of Tea", "Power Word Bankrupt", etc.
A tribute piece of crossover fanart for Knights of the Light Table's work on what's now two of my favorite music videos of all time: Starlight Brigade and Neon Odyssey. I was so moved and inspired by their latest animation, and the pure artistry and passion that went into it, that I had to draw something to celebrate both with a shared theme of space. Thought it be cool to team up Strive and Pyke in one image. They're my big favs and I really wanted to do them justice while pushing myself on the background to hopefully capture that wonder and awe of space. :) Starlight Brigade Neon Odyssey
It should be noted that a crossover between these two will actually be a reality if Neon Odyssey's Kickstarter hits $15 million, which will fund a Starlight Brigade extension adventure. No joke-- the Avantris crew just announced it in a livestream on Saturday.

Gotta respect the necromancer who put in the effort to give them angry eye-sockets, just so you know these aren't their friendly service skeletons. These are the angry kill-people skeletons.
A necromancer truly dedicated to the art of creating service skeletons will do a lot to improve their display. Sewing an outfit to their bones is an obvious one, leading experts will tell you that hiding most of the skeleton greatly limits the shock of seeing a skeleton in most people. It also helps the less informed know from a glance the assigned tasks of said skeleton. It is much better to ask the skeleton wearing working clothes to clean up a spill over the skeleton wearing a nice suit or dress.
Some of the most determined necromancers will even experiment with methods of allowing them to perform some more subtle facial emotes. Inserting googly eyes into the empty sockets can be a charming addition. Adding on adjustable eyebrows embedded with magnetic studs so they can inquisitively raise an eyebrow is another popular adaption.

While trying to distract myself from the vicissitudes of my particular coordinates within the greater "trapped animal gnawing off its own leg to escape" stage of the capitalist hellscape, I've been working on another TTRPG project that's difficult to fully describe, but I had a fun idea that I think stands on its own.
THE THUNDERJACK
Imagine a world where cruel and merciless Giants once reigned from castles floating above the clouds. Among the revolutionaries of the surface world a specialization of warrior-assassin emerged who trained to peak athletic condition so they could scramble up the twisting magic vines that the giants used to descent from and return to their domains. This is a world with strong ambient magic, and all "mundane" arts still draw on the elemental energy around them, and these particular warriors became adept at wielding the energy of Wind and Cold and especially Lightning that was abundant in the cloud domains. And their preferred weapons? Well, if the only part of an enemy you can reliably reach is a tree-trunk thick ankle, then there are few tools better than a heavy felling axe.
The giants are long dead (although rumors persist of survivors who may some day return from exile in foreign skies), and the beanstalks that once ascended to their castles are withered, rotten, and unreliable for transit. But the practical skills of the Thunderjacks turned out to be valuable for fighting all kinds of other titanic-size beasties, and frankly overkill for fighting most regular size foes, so the fighting style has persisted even as missions into the cloud kingdoms have become less common. Thunderjacks are in particular demand as one-person siege weapons, since it's very difficult to build a castle wall that can't be scaled by someone who trained to climb to the heavens, and the same brutally powerful strikes that work with their famous axes are easily adapted to a pick or a sledge and directed against a wall. Their numbers are dwindling though, since initial training requires them to find a way into the sky to meditate within the storm clouds, and the means of doing so become rarer and rarer as the old magical infrastructure the Giants left behind falls into disrepair.
POWERS AND ABILITIES
As mentioned, Thunderjacks are particularly adept at channeling the elemental energy of storms. Their movements are swift as a gale, precise as a lightning strike, and devastating as a crash of thunder. They operate with little or no armor though, and rely on extraordinary mobility for defense - when one expects to have to climb for hours, acceptable weight loads becomes a much tighter calculation. To supplement their evasive maneuvers, advanced Thunderjacks may learn to sheath their bodies in a layer of protective frost or a vortex of arrow-deflecting wind. Their athletic prowess is second to none - no one runs faster, leaps further, or especially climbs more nimbly than a veteran Thunderjack. And since great heights are such a core occupational hazard they either learn an array of tricks to lessen the impact of a fall, or else don't last long in this career. Finally, because they've historically had access to so much Giantish Plunder, Thunderjacks have developed special brawn-enhancing magics that allow them to wield oversize weapons with ease.
End result - is this just Final Fantasy Dragoon minus Dragons and Spears and plus Giants and Axes? Maybe! But I dig it, and I'm working on stats.

(pulls out a Nerf gun) and how will you respond when players get those mechanics wrong and slow down your run? answer quickly.
This is correct, but if you find yourself having ignored this warning and placed a puzzle rated for children over the age of 5 in your dungeon, the answer is ninjas. Ninjas attack and in the process the mechanic is altered or bypassed as your players lose a few resources.
Replace ninjas with whatever imminent danger fits your situation. A fire can be ninjas for those with a pure heart.
Turns out this one's actually about MMO dungeons, bud, but this is still good advice. Excuse us, OP, we got lost.

The bare-legged / hot-pants look was fairly common, since the whole point about being a Landsknecht (or Reislaufer, their Swiss equivalent) was to look outrageous.
Most period illustrations of Landsknechts are black-and-white woodcuts…
…though in 1905 a book called „Geschichte des Kostüms“ - History of Costume - assembled a bunch of black-and-whites and added colour.
If they look excessively gaudy, they’re not, because these next prints were coloured in-period by an artist called Erhard Schön, and it’s fair to assume he was representing what he saw.

Something mentioned nowhere in this post that I have just learned from googling: these guys were not Ye Olde Medieval Dandies. They were 15th-16th century mercenaries. Pretty hardcore, too. They were exempt from sumptuary laws (ie the rules that said you couldn’t wear certain colours or cloth or styles) and apparently their response to that was technicolour thotpants.
I was complaining earlier about costuming in both “historical” settings and in fantasy/scifi. This is exactly what I mean when I say a knowledge of actual history would enrich the conceptual creative palette for things like “hardcore mercenary outfits.”

What's with the giant skeleton????
Ah! no, I have a tendency to modify Eberron to my own desires (i've made a bunch of new lore) because I've now run 3 campaigns in it! The unofficial lore of the skeleton is: During the Last War, early into the conflict, (maybe around like, 925) an elite group of Karrnathi mages breached deep into Brelandian territory, with the goal of destroying Sharn directly. This resulted in an immense necromantic display of power, producing an undead creature on a never-before seen scale. The creature was defeated by the mages of Sharn, who dispelled the magic that animated it, causing it to become little more than an immense sculpture of flesh and bone.
Following the scuffle, the skeleton was kept as a sign of defiance against Karrnath, and has affectionately been titled Ol' Jones by the civilians.
(some emerald claw worshippers have also been found worshipping the immense creature, believing it to be a sign of their ladies power)
