I actually did 90% of this painting approximately 6 years ago around 2020. It was my first attempt to draw in this type of style. But I had been so ashamed of it that I didn’t look at it again until a few days ago, where I decided to give it some final touchups and let it see the light of day.

Set primarily in Berlin in the spring of 1945, Seventeen Moments of Spring (1973) follows a Soviet spy deep undercover as Standartenführer Max Otto von Stirlitz as he works to sabotage negotiations between Germany and America for a separate peace that excludes the USSR. Directed by Tatiana Lioznova (Three Poplars at Plyuschikha) and based on the novel by Yulian Semyonov, it stars Vyacheslav Tikhonov (War and Peace) in his career-best performance as Stirlitz.

I hope my work will be appreciated by people who either love the series already, or who might now be tempted to check it out. I seriously cannot reccommend it enough!
