See this right here is part of what almost killed me last summer. I had other stuff going on mentally but seeing in my inbox over and over again negative things the monsters in my head were saying too just pushed. Pushed so far I was ready, made a plan, and waited for my family to leave the house so I could be alone to go through with my plan. Kind people saved me from myself but there are too many unkind people out there who are pushing and pushing those already on the edge. Stop pushing before you cause someone to go over that edge. My Process: Smut

Okay so after a convo on discord and several asks about how I write my smut, I’d figure I’d make a post to share with y’all. Hopefully it can help anyone who finds themselves struggling (and makes sense!)

First, placement of the scene matters. Why is it happening at that point? Does it flow? That’s always important but then we get into the actual smut.

Three acts:

Foreplay: is there any? why or why not? kissing? touching? cuddling? oral? (This will set the tone really for the entire scene)

The act itself: take into account surrounding; position, position, position! Is it practical? Does it make sense? Is there kissing during? Pace? Rough or gentle?

Climaxing/aftercare: again, is there any? who cums? who doesn’t? who cums first? why or why not? coddling, touching, clean-up, etc.

Mood

throughout each I try to touch on the five sense but not necessarily all: what do they see, hear, feel, smell, taste;

how are they working together or against each other;

internal dialogue; 

communication & dynamic (giving orders? dominant? partners?)

surroundings, furniture, placement;

changes in position;

I hope this helps other writers but here’s how I go through my sex scenes.
