hi so on my days off lately ive been teaching myself how to paint. and its still at embarrassing levels but this is the best one ive done so far. so have a super fat derpy bird i painted for binny.

(side note: all my paintings are for binny generally except the really bad ones and maybe the one of panda dressed like arthur hastings from we happy few but its not that its NOT for them its just for us both to enjoy.)

(side note 2: yes i am making small amateur paintings for my partner who went to actual art school in new freakin york city. they love them anyway. fight me.)

so I have a pretty great story that I know at least lions will flip out about. basically my sister won the lottery (or that’s how it feels).

so last weekend she got to go see Hamilton. as in, before Lin finished his run. my mom told me she was going and I immediately emailed her to ask how she managed this??? because tickets are like??? crazy hard to get??? and she wrote back:

OMGOMGOMG I AM AND I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!  Yes, have been fangirling the soundtrack since last fall or summer I think and had given up dreams of seeing Lin (I checked tix to see for my birthday last year and they were already ridiculous) and one of the partners in my office walks in and his son in law is Rory O'Malley who was a supporting in Book of Mormon and he's bragged about meeting Josh Gad and everything and he goes, "So my SIL Rory is in NYC for a musical workshop that fell through and his agent calls and says Would you like to audition for King George in this show called Hamilton?" (And by this time in the story I'm making indecipherable high pitched noises) "and long story short, he's going to be King George!" And I was speechless still and pete's all, so if you want tix, you have an in" and I'm all OMG you have no idea!!!!!  So we are actually getting in and paying face value which is less than a tenth of what they are going for and Eric keeps threatening to roophy me and scalp them which really isn't that funny, but yes, I am so so so excited.

keep in mind my sister is 35 years old so seeing her flip out like this is pretty hilarious, but totally appropriate given the situation, imo. so they got to go backstage after the show. she didn’t get to meet Lin or anything but they got to meet and talk to the guy Rory who plays King George. I haven’t heard the whole story yet, she is waiting to tell me in person (they live ~3 hours away but I will likely be down to visit sometime this month), but she did get me and Bin shirts!! oh and also, Jay Leno and Helen Hunt were in the audience that night.

so yeah I’d say I’m bummed I didn’t get to see him myself but I can’t really be because my sister getting to go is the next best thing. gonna tag u lions just so you for sure get to see this C:
