“Amen sister,” Moe shrieked, quite enthusiastic about this knowing someone else also gets it, “It is a common problem! I’ve been to alot of institutes in my time and like, they’re the same emotionless beings! It’s so freaking weird, does it run in the species or something? ‘Cause frankly, I’ve known downworlders happier than them. I think they still don’t get the picture that being open with their emotions doesn’t make them weak, quite the opposite really.”

“I can’t really blame them, you know? Most of them are BRAINLESS soldiers, there is nothing much you can expect from a person who knows nothing but how to fight. This is one of the many reasons I don’t really LIKE being surrounded by Shadowhunters but, oh well, Queen’s orders MUST be followed.”

          he smiles back, a small and hesitant thing, and shakes his head. “i don’t. have anything more important to do.” he was just sitting here, reading and drowning out the sounds around him with music. lysander places his book off to the side and moves to walk from the room. “it’s not too far.”

“Thank you, it means a lot. I’ve been wandering around these hallways all day long, I’m TIRED of getting lost,” Snow lightly chuckled and followed him, walking by his side. “Are you sure you KNOW where we’re going?” She teased.

- ̗̀ ❛ ORANGE BLOSSOM.

           they kick legs upwards, skirts falling about their legs as they circle ankles this way and that. how plain life has become! head tilts to look at the other fae and the impish seelie pouts at the other. “there ought to be a masquerade, like before! they were so fun - so easy to play about with the mundanes when we were able to dress as we wished and charm them into following us,” or maybe snow didn’t do that. orange blossom has always been a bit more puckish than accepted by the clave and the like.

“I assume that’s a YES?” She raised both of her eyebrows before letting out a chuckle. She knew that Orange Blossom never played by the rules of the Clave but they were friends and Snow had no reason to worry about. “Masquerade balls were indeed fun but I’m pretty sure I NEVER tricked a mundane like that. Isn’t that called breaking the Accords?”

- ̗̀ ❛ SADIE LACKS.

    “once or twice.” with a roll of her shoulders, the fledgling lifts her head to eye the other woman. “perhaps we’ve just learned to be honest rather than absorb ourselves with unnecessary pleasantries.” with a melodramatic sigh, sadie raises her cup to her lips and gestures with her other hand. “the one that looks like the guy from bridget jones ?? kinda sexy but old ?? two rights, then a left.” 

“See? It wasn’t THAT bad. You have your whole life ahead, LITTLE FLEDGLING, why don’t you spare yourself for awkward situations, like this one, and help people that might need your advice?” The Seelie lightly mocked her. “Thank you anyway.”

athena hums, waving her hand nonchalantly. “so then,” she says, turning to the other. “why dont you go back to the seelie court? it’s my understanding that they don’t have much technology there.. then again i havent been in the seelie court since 1963.”

“I will go back there, from time to time, but my DUTY is here, in London. And no, technology is not something you can find in the Seelie Court, we like to connect with NATURE, not the Internet.”

          oh! oh, he knows where that is. lysander hurries to finish taking out his earbuds and putting them away before he nods. “i, uh - i can take you there, if you want? it’s one of the only rooms i absolutely know how to find here.”

“Really? That would be GREAT” she said, instantly grinning as she heard he knew the way to the library. “Yes, please take me there. I mean, if you don’t have anything else to do, I wouldn’t want to keep you from doing something IMPORTANT.”

- ̗̀ ❛ ORANGE BLOSSOM.

          “you people don’t know how to have fun anymore,” voice whines unhappily as they drape themself across the sofa. legs dangle over one of the arms and a hand lays across pale forehead in a mockery of a swoon. “i’m so bored. what happened to feasts? feasts were fun!” and easy to play with mundanes during. orange blossom rolls onto their side and props head up with bent elbow and palm pressed against cheekbone. “let’s do something fun.”

“Feasts, how nostalgic do they make me feel,” the Faerie chuckled lightly, remembering how fun castle parties used to be and how many secrets they used to reveal. Now those were what Snow would call GOOD TIMES. “I empathize with you, modern times are boring and they give me HEADACHES. The only way we could do something fun would be to return to the Court, maybe they still have theme parties.”

“i’m almost disappointed.” green eyes flicker over the institute’s interior and she purses her cherry stained lips. “it appears time has not been kind to the london institute. i remember it being so much more eloquent in it’s youth. not cluttered by this technological mumbo jumbo.”

“I haven’t been here before but this is some sort of GENERAL TRUTH that applies to the entire world,” the Seelie admitted with a nod of her head. “I can’t deny that I dearly miss the older times, everything seemed to have its own kind of BEAUTY. Nowadays, it’s just high-technology.”

Moe laughed, “I know right? Jeez, I can sense that there are only a few emotions being passed around here. Seriousness and grumpiness, and the occasional happiness,” she shrugged, “what a cold hard world in a cold hard castle.”

“I guess it takes at least a hundred years for someone to learn to HANDLE their emotions and let them free. One thing I noticed is that they’re afraid of showing a varied number of emotions in order not to look weak. It’s like a COMMON PROBLEM”

          “oh, no - no, it’s - really, it’s fine. what’s up?” he tugs the other earbud out and cocks his head at her, offering a small smile. lysander didn’t want her to feel bad for saying something - he just hadn’t been able to hear her.

“I was just looking for the library,” she admitted, nodding her head before returning him a kind smile. The Seelie was usually friendly unless somebody REALLY pissed her off. “This building is huge and I kinda got lost TWICE searching for the library.” Snow chuckled lightly.

- ̗̀ SNOW — TASK 001.

❛ she was BORN OF FIRE, of unhampered desire; strong as stone she’s as lovely as the ash that coats the DEVIL’S TONGUE. ❜

It’s impossible to mistake the Seelie for someone else. Her characteristic pastel pink gowns, full of nature motives, give the illusion of her being straight out of a fairytale. Her long light brown hair, styled in loose waves and sometimes even accessorized with fresh season flowers, is always covering her pointed ears. She has ice blue eyes that can make you feel dizzy if you look at them long enough. Snow dresses in mostly pastel pink but that depends on her mood. If she is mourning, she will wear only white pieces of clothing and surround herself with butterflies. Her lips are always a soft shade of rose, same as her cheeks and her eye make-up is never heavy, mostly light and natural. Always smiling, she can be easily compared to a ray of sunshine because of her light mood that seems to never leave her. Snow’s nails are round and long, always matching her dress and her signature smell is a mix of red plum and freesia.

       tongue swipes at scarlet stained lips, thick lashes fluttering as her gaze lowers to the rhythmic swirl of the spoon in her cup. “before you ask - the answer is no. not in this lifetime. never.”

“You millenials are UNNECESSARILY RUDE, have you been told that before? I wanted to ask you where Sir Arthur’s office is located, it wouldn’t have been that much of a BOTHER to give directions.”

- ̗̀ MOE.

“Do shadowhunters even go to fast food restaurants like Mcdonalds, KFC or some other fast food establishments? Like, I have never seen any take-out bags in the institute nor some happy meals. No wonder you’re all so serious all the time.”

“I’m afraid they don’t, otherwise none of them would’ve been this GRUMPY all day long. Maybe we can lure them in with some happy meals, they’ll quickly get ADDICTED.”

          “what, uhm - what was that?” he’s tugging an earbud from his ear as he looks across at the other. he thought he caught the tail end of what they were saying, but maybe he’s wrong. “sorry, i wasn’t…i was listening to music. do you need something?”

“No, it’s MY FAULT. I didn’t want to disturb you, I’m truly sorry about it,” Snow sighed as she apologized to the other. She didn’t notice his earbuds in time to remain silent and search for another person who could give her DIRECTIONS.

- ̗̀ HADES NIGHTWING.

hades’ lips instantly shift into an almost bashful smile and he peers at her through his dark tangle of long lashes. “don’t apologise,” he says softly. “i should’ve been looking where i was going too. if i had then i obviously would’ve seen someone as beautiful as yourself.” the white orb over his shoulder that he’d been playing with moves to hover in front of him and as he reaches out to touch it it transfigures into a soft white rose. “here,” he says gently, presenting it to her. “take this. call it a..peace offering.” the petals seem to glow slightly and inwardly he frowns. he’s never quite managed to make his creations look life like. they always glow and sparkle with an unnatural sheen.

His voice was relaxing, almost comforting. Snow was glad to find such a person between the cold walls of the London Institute. “Thank you, Sir,” she replied with a soft, almost unnoticeable smile that formed on her pink lips. As soon as she saw the rose, Snow’s smile turned into a large grin. “You’re being TOO KIND.” The Seelie lifted her hand and barely touched the flower with her fingertips, noticing how beautiful it looked because of that glow. “It’s truly beautiful, consider your PEACE OFFERING accepted.”
