“I can help you.”
This is so beautiful.
not gonna lie, percy’s fight with the minotaur is still one of my fav scenes in the entirety of PJO and HoO. i miss early percy’s characterization
I saw @bookavid posted these questions and well, I’m not always active & I can’t always be but I’d like to be more active anyway? So I’m picking a few questions (I re-numbered them).
1. Which genius book do you think absolutely deserves a movie adaptation and why?
With pretty much every book I read I’m already imagining what it would look like on screen. Maybe I should try screenwriting (: I’d love to see an adaptation of The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet because SPACE!! Space is pretty. Also I’d love to see the aliens.
2. Have you made any cool original content lately? Fan art, selfies, book photography, any other kind of art? Share your favorite! (bonus point if you post a pic)
I post pictures on instagram pretty much every day. Got kind of behind on blogging and tumblr and patreon because of health problems but I have plans!!
3. What’s a book you discovered in 2017 (doesn’t need to be a new release) and absolutely are obsessed with now? What is it about and why do you love it?
I just finished Six of Crows and !!! I knew I was going to like it but was also a little wary because of the hype but turns out I didn’t need to worry, I’m in love.
4. Have you ever met an author you admired in real life? Who and how was it?
I met Imme Dros, Dutch author of children’s books and translator of the Iliad and Odyssey, at the presentation of her revised translation of the Odyssey. Her children’s books on Greek mythology basically set me on the path to studying classics so... I was a little star-struck. Didn’t say anything but I got my book signed. (Also my dad is an author so that technically fits this question as well.)
5. HOW IS YOUR PET SHOW ME YOUR PET
YES HOLD UP LET ME LOOK FOR PICS
This is Cooper, look at him lying still for a picture, beautiful boy. We got him this year because one of his owners had a stroke, they couldn’t keep him, and initially he would be with us temporarily but it turned out the owner would not recover much so we got to keep him. And thus we accidentally got two dogs because we were already on the waiting list for a puppy...
... that puppy is this little dude! His name is Charlie and he’s SO SOFT. This is the most recent picture I have of him, standing next to a sign saying ‘Hellhound route’.
Both are barbets aka french waterdogs. Now I’m sad because they’re the family dogs & I don’t live with my parents any more... (but I’ll be with them again for Christmas so I’ll be okay)

*gently gathers everyone who writes Humans Are Weird/Space Orcs/Space Australians fics* WRITE A BOOK GODDAMMIT
JUST FUKIN DO IT
Listen we’re working on it ok.
It’s kinda hard with the conflicting timelines we’ve individually created but we’re doing the best we can
Guess what came out this summer!
I’ve read it. It’s great. A dozen short stories written by some very good authors, with That Original Tumblr Post as the introduction.
I’m sure there are tons of amazing novels in progress (including mine), and that will take time. But in the meantime, humans are weird short stories!!

Messaged you earlier about a wlw crushing on her best friend and is super guilty/worried about it. YOU'RE THE BEST !!
Summary: Vera is infatuated with her best friend. Alexia isn’t into her like that. Vera is just doing her best not to push that.
CW/TW: Girlxgirl, casual swearing, weed mention, something similar to problems with self worth. Happy ending.
A/N: This was actually super easy to write. Thanks so much for the prompt! I hope you enjoy <3
It was an accident.
I promise.
Okay, maybe not at first. At first, it was definitely on purpose- But it was also easy. Fleeting. And the moment I realized it wasn’t going to work out, I backed off.
But… She didn’t.

This graphic novel is so. good. As you can see I’ve already collected the next two volumes and I’ll be reading them soon. (They will give me a nice head start on my 2018 goodreads challenge...) Here’s my 4,5-star review.

Northern Lights
I’d read Northern Lights by Philip Pullman before, in Dutch when I was about 10. I liked it, but I didn’t understand half of it. Now, finally reading it in English, there is so much more in there! I’m going to read the next books soon and then hopefully get The Book of Dust, and then at some point a BBC series is coming out... I’m excited!!
Challenge Your Shelf day 4: hot drink. This tea was in this month’s FairyLoot. I have yet to try it, but it looks pretty.

basically.
What goes better than books and coffee??
Buy me a coffee to support me and so I can run more book giveaways
Now you can support me with coffee, not in the physical sense, but through this link you can buy me a virtual coffee (£3) which is the price of a normal coffee. So if you like my blog and me, you can support me this way. This money will be split between helping my transition and running book giveaways, so I feel like I am giving back to you guys.
This way it help my transition, and allows me to run more book giveaways :)
Thank you

Basic Witches
I never thought I’d read a self-help book, but how could I say no when it looks like this? Basic Witches by Jaya Saxena and Jess Zimmerman was a wonderful, affirming read. Here’s my 4-star review.
I created a witchy playlist for Challenge Your Shelf day 3 - reading playlist. You can listen to that here.
