OF COURSE THERE IS TRANSFEM WALLY WEST. don’t you want her to have her identity issues raised to the power of infinity plus one!! i’ve been thinking lately about the optimal angst like. whether iris knows or doesn’t know that wally’s a girl while she’s raising the tornado twins (bc in my head barry&iris go to the future before wally realizes and barry doesn’t ever know bc when he comes back it’s to die 😁 but iris!! stays!! in the future!! SO YOU SEE THERE’S POTENTIAL). because let’s say option one: iris Doesn’t know. godddd the juiciness this could lead to. like imagine she comes back to the 21st century with bart and she doesn’t knowww that wally’s a girl!! so wally in true wally fashion Avoids Her except she feels so so guilty about it because it’s her AUNT and she should TELL HER. right? but what would she think. and iris is self isolating because she’s scared of tipping her hand and changing the past and she knows wally has been distant and and and. i think this would have to culminate in somehow they end up alone in a room and wally just blurts everything out/comes out and disappears stat. bc of COURSE there’s a crisis there’s always a crisis lmao. and then iris can go oh no how did i not realize…do i seem untrustworthy why didn’t wally tell me……oughh and wally can stay away going ohh what does she think (<- scared. schrodinger’s box method here. “if idk her reaction she hasn’t rejected me 👍”) and it Would all get resolved trust. but i think that period of double sided angst (that Would awkwardly bleed out & affect the rest of the flashfam. evilly >:3) would hurt so good augh !!

however option two is also so so juicy…and lowkey i think more in-character too. because iris is like heavily researching her family when she’s in the future right!! and i think when she finds out (pretty early on) she first of all doesn’t know when wally actually realized she was trans and second has to take like. a day to herself. and she’s obviously going to tell her kids all about wally still except when wally meets the tornado twins for the first time she feels Weird about them knowing she’s a girl but can brush it off right. it’s the future everyone knows probably. and it would soo add an extra layer because she’s!! scared!! of what barry would’ve thought if he’d known and Here Are His Biological Kids And They Know. and it’s not even like a big thing to them it doesn’t matter as much as wally being close with barry matters to them. but also dawn&don wouldn’t know that barry didn’t know. like !!! DO YOU SEE IT 🤩 and i think in this case when iris gets back to the past w bart wally is like. she feels like she just missed a step, somewhere; because iris has had decades in the future after she learned that wally is a girl; but barry has never known because of course that’s part of it; but wally hadn’t even gotten to tell her. but when would she tell her? and would she tell iris right away at all (well NO see option one thoughts 😁)? but did she want to?? and it’s complicated!!! and for wally it culminates in avoidance of the topic until she can bury her feelings about it and in her ideal world never think about it or bring it up again. i really like making her (&iris) sad and avoidant okay

AND LINDA OUGH. listen this girl has like no hobbies !!! she barely has any friends especially after waid’s first run ends and even then it’s like. wally (i do believe they’re friends 🙂‍↕️ in love also ofc) + hartley + fran becker from issue 120-smth (123???) + barb the bridesmaid (mentioned one (1) time in the wedding issue as one of linda’s bridesmaids, previously appeared for two pages in #72 iirc) (MY OC NOW BAYBEE) and that’s,,,,more or less it? and two of those are flashfam-related and one is WALLY. and like i think she didn’t really like to get close to people when she was younger because she’d put them off because she Knew what she wanted, like her news anchor job, which was like. one of her Goals yk. in messner-loebs’ run she didn’t even consider quitting, not once, because she LOVES HER JOB !!!!! like after channel 4 (? i think) hired her her makeup artist immediately started giving her horrible racist & misogynist “advice” and she gritted her teeth and stuck it out (oh linda 😭). she snuck onto a fraudulent therapy island on a hunch that she hung on to so hard to dig up her lead & her story. she is so close to wally in age (i like to headcanon her as like a year older) and he’s twenty-one when he meets her but she’s fairly established!! she LOVES her job she LOVES uncovering truths she is NOT giving it up.

and she must have been aiming for it since she was young to get so far so fast!! and i think other people around her age saw her determination and moderate abrasiveness and the way she does find & spread the truth especially to stop / prevent / alleviate harm (i have. sources 😭 im thinking way too hard about this lol. but linda….. my love…. <3333) and like!!!! she is somewhat singleminded yk!!!! i honestly don’t think she has many if any hobbies as a young adult. even after she meets wally,,, (which. tangent. i think wally is one of the first and/or only people who introduces linda to a community, his community, who she grows to care for very quickly and who feel the same about her. i think linda is honestly a pretty isolated character and part of this is bc writers aren’t willing to let her have a life & friends & more outside of wally and the flashfam but also it does fit with even her original / early / best (<- totally unbiased voice) characterization!! and the flashfam is one of the best things to happen to her because it’s like she finally has a home in other people? a support system beyond her parents and acquaintance-friends and other distant connections. like. ough i’m going to get emotional tangent over 😭) ANYWAY EVEN AFTER SHE MEETS WALLY!!! i think she like. hones in on her goals especially when there’s a news story at stake because they help people!! asfhjfsui AND (realized i should clarify) imo she does like to read and does it when she can. and she canonically loves baseball and i can see that extending to some other sports. but like. making things hobbies? not really !!! her stories are pretty much making things anyway <3 although that isn’t a hobby it’s like her Purpose but. WHATEVER

anyway on the complete opposite side i think anita loves making things. and just doing things she likes to pick up skills !!! like she presumably either makes or modifies her empress costume so she can properly fight in it right, and in canon she’s . god i have SOURCES okay. like the time she braids cissie’s hair on the ship during the owaw arc and the time she’s making soup or smth in yj’s base during the leader election issue and even just knowing how to fight with her emperor’s stick and how to play the piano & sing (very well too)!!! however there is definitely that aspect of misogynoir (one of the worst cases/examples like these ones is when she’s just randomly giving kon a massage 🤢) because none of the other members so consistently Do Things for each other and like. it’s suspicious yk. but i do think she would love learning new things especially things she can do with her hands!! she should get into everything she cann she should have been part of like ten clubs in high school & college it’d be so good for her. augh.
