2011..
At the start of 2011 it was clear that drum & bass was still a frowned upon genre, however with DJ Fresh breaking out into the comercial charts he opened it up attracting more people to look deeper into it. Icicles album dropped and it went off...as expected :P One massive jump for minimal drum & bass. By the end of the year minimal drum & bass has made its mark, big names, big plays, big nights, big crowds....2012 is going to be massive.
Big release on Commercial Suicide. Big respect to State of Mind, one of the first drum & bass artists I properly got into and they've been guiding me ever since. Keen to get this on vinyl. Its a must listen, pretty relaxing with a nice warm deep bass feeling. Vocals are pretty far out too.
Finally!!!! Video out today, tune released on the 19th. Been waiting ages for this, heard it rinsed in so many raves and it always goes off. Massive tune. Definately needs a listen no matter what music you're into to some extent.
This was the second Foreign Beggars tune that I ever listened to and this is the decider that got me into uk hip hop... So today Foreign Beggars released a new tune called 'Oh'. It's ok, nice to finally hear some verses and not have any ridiculous dubstep beats but in all fairness their new stuff is nothing on their music from the past. Asylum Speakers was such a top album. My most listened to on Last Fm. So for all you true hip hop heads out there, take a few minutes to reminice of this beast from the past and remember how great Beggars used to be :)
Waiting...
I'm waiting for two massive tunes to come out. It's killing me, you can only hear them in mixes. It's so frustrating...But when they come I'll get them out there. One is by Dub Phizix and the other is by Aphonic. Massive tunes.
I first heard this tune in a record store in Soho on the Way of the Warrior Vinyl (as the cd hadn't been released at this point). I immediately fell in love with it and brought the vinyl. As it happens I was going to see The Way of The Warrior Album launch at Cable that very night so it made everything even better. When each artist dropped their own remix of this, you could not describe how amazing it was. Never the less, the original is just as beautiful. Was such an amazing night, Shogun Audio never let you down.
I don't think I've ever heard anything so beautiful.
So it's been a while...
It's been ages since i've posted any fresh to death new tunes. My apologies. But I have been so busy settling in to my new home..Living in the capital ;) And also working full time doesnt help. So back to music...
So sick. Got to love minimal drum & bass, so beautiful. Free download to, huge love for Fathom Audio. Check this, wont be dissapointed :)
So fresh it was only released an hour ago. Produced by DJ Premier featuring Mac Miller, probably my favourite american hip hop artist at the moment :) Worth a listen and deffinately to other stuff of his :)
This was such a random find but so glad I did find it. Pretty heavy dnb track, a style of dnb I'm that fond on anymore but still this is big! Deffinately worth a listen. Super fly, super fresh, wild wild west.

Fresh remix of a classic modern rnb tune which is one I actually love due to the fact that Sean Paul is a legend. However this remix has just made this tune so much how can I describe it....skankable :P Check it :D
I've been told that this is their best song live and to be honest I can completely understand this. I'm rather dissapointed that i've only just heard of this guys as i've been into The Hilltop Hoods for ages! (famous for Nosebleed Section) But still these guys have blown me away, quality Australian hip-hop.
Been waiting time for this video, wasn't ever sure of its release date so I apologise that im 4 weeks late in posting it :P But you got to love Tomb Crew, especially if any of you have seen them live then you'll know what I mean :)

I think this is possibly my favourite drum & bass tune, I love minimal and have done for ages and this just tops them all off :) Out on Broken Audio Recordings apparently, I can't find it....I want it on Vinyl :(
