“I haven’t read any creepypastas!” Henry exclaims, though that’s not entirely true. Actually, he has read quite a lot of stories about the Midnight Game ever since they’ve seen those movies. It was more of a joke when he kept suggesting to the others that they should play this game, too, but … eventually, his curiosity won him over. “Well, yeah. That was the plan, right?” He glances over Eunseo’s shoulder, watching how she’s texting Hyuna and asking their fellow friend to come over right away. Henry assumes that Jaebum is going to get informed this way as well, and so all they can do now is wait. But then …
“Hold up,” he says, both his eyebrows raised in shock when he looks at the female. “We didn’t actually intend to play in here, right?!” There’s a whole list of reasons Henry does not want to play this game in his own house. The first one is simple: his wife would kill him. Not that he’s scared of Ahyeon, but … Anyway, another reason would be that even though their apartment has two stories, it still isn’t big enough for the group to walk around freely. Plus, as just mentioned, it’s an apartment. After reading way too much about this game and its rules, Henry has learned that it is not advised to play it in an apartment rather than an entire house.
Luckily it doesn’t take very long for Henry to come up with an idea – which may or may not work out, but that’s what he’s about to find out in a minute. “I know a guy who rents out traditional houses in Bukchon,” he says while scrolling through the contacts in his phone, “and he still owes me a favor.” Grinning at the female, he swipes across his phone’s display to give said guy a call – just when someone rings on his door. He gives Eunseo a nod, silently asking her to go open the door for him. It’s most likely Hyuna or Jaebum, anyway.
And as soon as they return back inside, he looks over at them with a wide and somewhat proud smile tugging at his lips. “You can walk right back out, we’re driving to Bukchon.”
"I don't drive," Juyeon said in dead pan, almost immediately, though the tone in her voice made it clear she said it for a humorous affect. She was only minorly disappointed at the prospect of leaving again, mostly because she was excited to summon demons into the home of her annoying (though cherished) friend, but also because he had - in some form or another - dragged them all to his apartment only to have to set off into the cold again, and she had just gotten warm.
Still, the idea of a traditional house grew on her quickly as she realised it would be twice as spooky, what with the thin walls, creaky floors and paper doors on which shadows could pass over and spook her friends. Her face immediately broke out into a grin at the thought of that.
As they all piled into the car, Juyeon willed herself to take one last glimpse at her lost chance to contamine Henry's house with demons.
Though the drive did not take long, Juyeon's impatience and anticipation was evident right up until the car pulled up into the traditional village. She had been to Bukchon a couple times before; once during the filming of her reality show, but the distinct difference between architecture in the traditional district and the rest of Seoul never failed to leave a lasting impression on her. She was sure this would be the perfect location for their excursion with the mythical Midnight Man.
She turned her head back to face the others in the car. "We need to figure out our fears, right?"

Henry should have known that Juyeon would react that way, even though he knows that deep down she’s just as curious as he is – and hence just as stupid, too. “Come on,” he says, a begging undertone coming along with his words, “this isn’t like the movies, we’re not gonna die or some shit. I thought you didn’t believe in supernatural stuff, anyway?” The male arches a brow at the other, the hint of a grin appearing on his lips. Ever since they’ve read about the so-called Midnight Game and watched movies about it, Henry kept wondering about whether it’s actually legit or not – and there’s only one way to find out.
"You've been reading far too many creepypastas," Juyeon scoffed, though her tone faltered slightly, unveiling her nervousness she had feebly tried to cover with a brave face. Still, she couldn't deny her own interest on the topic; she had been the one who had willingly watched 'The Midnight Man' twice after all. "Can we at least bring Hyuna and Jaebum? At least that way, if we do happen to summon any demons, your farts, her screaming and Jaebum's sarcastic comments will scare them away!"
Without even awaiting an answer from the other, she dug into her back pocket and withdrew her phone, fingers tapping excitedly across the screen as she sent out several texts with added exclamation to her senior.
