If you do this, you’re a controlling, insecure jerk and need serious therapy.
Yeah, if anyone is in a situation like this at any time, get out. People like that are dangerous and that kind of behavior escalates.

I wish i could find this one article written in I believe the 90’s that went under the radar on abortion. The author said that the “life” arguments are basically useless on either side and what actually matters is that humans shouldn’t have a right to use other human bodies as a resource without consent no matter how alive or sentient they are, even if they’re on the brink of death you have the right to deny them access to you. It probably was too radical for pro-choice activists back in those days but like…that’s the most robust arguement lol so we need 2 being that back and dead the pontifications and splitting hairs about “life” in my honest onion
I found it. Actually, it was written in the 70’s. She was way ahead of the curve.
The article is ‘A Defense of Abortion’ by Judith Jarvis Thomson. Essential reading!

If you cannot demand that a person donate their organs to keep you alive, you have no right to legislate that an embryo gets to use a woman’s body to keep itself alive without the woman’s consent.
I actually did see this argument going around a few years ago on here and it was the most solid, defensible way to frame the REAL issue. Every other angle on reproductive rights is too narrow.
This is what I mean when I say that the “right to life”/the question of when life begins/fetal personhood arguments are ultimately red herrings. It doesn’t fucking matter. No one is owed the use of another person’s body to keep themselves alive regardless of relationship or reason of need, ever. The only time people seem to find this a questionable assertion is in the case of abortion. -V
Abusive parents act like it’s soo horrible to accuse them of abuse, it’s so painful for them to handle even the slightest implication that they might have done something abusive or cruel, they always talk like any guilt put on them is a sin and an act of selfishness and cruelty, but at the same time, they push all that guilt, blame, shame, and feeling of being an irredeemable monster, on a child. It’s wrong when done to them, who deserved it, but completely normal to do it to a child, who will be stuck with feelings of self hatred, shame and guilt for the rest of their life. Because of something done to them.
And they will literally use the child’s awareness of how horrible it is to feel guilty of these sins, to make the child feel too sorry for them to place responsibility on them! The parents are somehow not strong enough to carry the weight of their own crimes, but the child has to do it, the child has to gather the strength to feel like a monster in their stead. I’m sick of this hypocrisy. If they aren’t strong enough to carry the weight of their crimes they shouldn’t have done any. Placing such burden on child’s life, on top of all the abuse, is act of cowardice and dishonors them from being a human being. Children aren’t responsible for your cruelty. They’re not responsible for anyone’s.

These never work for me, but here’s to trying.
I don’t believe in these things
But last time I reblogged one ten/fifteen minutes later I got a call offering me a job
But I reblogged it because I was waiting on hearing back from the job. So there you go.
