Thought I could share some of my old art and improvement process here since this blog is relatively new in relation to my overall "art-journey". (Also I just find my old art kinda funny these days).
Basic pre-teen weeaboo-era, nothing too interesting to see here.
same trajectory, only I got a drawing tablet. Used the program that at least back then came with the Wacom Bamboo tablets, only I can't remember the name or find it anymore...
Started using Photoshop. I guess there was some sparkle brush or effect available that I really liked (alongside bright colors and pastels)
Started finally trying something slightly different and making some kind of early attempts with the kind of style and technique I now use -though those weren't obviously that great. Also started using SAI (and never went back :)).
More of the same. Also it's not that obvious here but apparently I was obsessed with pastels around this time...Every other piece has some pink/yellowish hue or overlay all over it.
I remember being inspired by BJD dolls at this point..? Probably part of the reason why I find the way I drew more "realistic" faces around this time a bit uncanny now.
Preference for thick outlines started -or at least became really apparent at this point. Faces still look a bit off I'm afraid.
I don't know what's with the odd regression this year but I hardly drew anything, and whenever I did it was just unfinished doodles or basic anime girls? Not much to see here.
Also drew barely anything this year but on the other hand I pretty much developed my signature style and have stuck to it ever since so there's that.
More of the same. I feel like I was way more patient and diligent back then though :/
I created this blog that year! Not much changes to the art itself though.
Nothing different here either...If anything I just got a bit lazier.
same as for the two previous years, I guess. It's hard for me to see any notable changes in these past few years honestly. Maybe the patterns -if there are any- will become a bit more obvious after some time.
Not sure if it's super noticeable but I actually changed my style / technique up just a bit! I personally like it but it also enables me to be lazier and messier in a way, which was already a bit of a problem to begin with.
Nothing too different here either, I continued being inconsistent and lazy oops. See you in 2026 then!
