Hi guys, I’m not really sure how to word this but - I’m in a bit of a bad place right now.
I went to the doctor today was diagnosed with mild depression and was prescribed 10mg Prozac by my doctor.
Unfortunately, my dad was in the room at the time and he was not at all happy to hear the news and reacted a little harshly with ‘this is a surprise. what does she have to be depressed about?’.
I tried talking to my parents about the issue after we got home and explaining to them that multiple of the symptoms listed for depression on websites from Tufts and other reputable sources apply to me - they will not come around to my side, refusing to look past the fact that my life has been pretty okay and that I have no reason to be depressed.
Between school, sports, and homework, I have no time to earn some sort of income that I could put towards paying for medication.
I do not have insurance and therefore the cost for 30 capsules of 10mg Prozac is around $220.

I keep seeing posts in the news about US students protesting by standing/sitting outside their schools - and I 100% support that- but the day this is due to take part on is 4.20.18 which is the anniversary of the columbine school shooting. As someone involved in the true crime scene this is the day that shooters are most likely to act.
I don’t want to encourage any fear or violence but if you plan to protest please make sure you are protected and in a safe space. Anniversaries can encourage copy cat shooters and being outside of a school makes you a very clear target. Being inside you school obviously doesn’t help, but for any American children or teens following me PLEASE put your safety first.
If you are going to protest outside of school, please make sure there are police or safe guarding officers close to you, keep your eyes open and check the tops and sides of buildings. If you see anything that remotely looks like a threat, shout to your peers that you see a threat and run inside.
If you are protesting inside of your school, please keep your eyes open for any ‘students’ that you haven’t seen before. If you hear shots, run to your closest classroom and lock yourself in. Again, verbalize any risks you see so your classmates and teachers can act.
I hope this peaceful protest ends well, but there’s never any harm in keeping safe.

I just want to know, how the FUCK do you explain that to people. Like his parents? What did he say? ‘Oh yeah dad, sorry I uh, you know that painting in your office, yeah it bit my face off? I don’t know?’ Or the doctor? Like they must have asked what the fuck happend.
This has been in my head for a while now. I don’t known if it’s been said somewhere or not, it just makes me wonder.
