Reflections on Glinda the Good Witch of the North and the Wizard of Oz

You realize that Glinda was not a good person. She suspected that Dorothy was a witch of unknown power who HAD killed the WWotEast. So Glinda transfers the ruby slippers to Dorothy to make HER a target of the WWotW.

Glinda knew that one of them would ultimately destroy the other, so it would be a win-win situation for her. One less powerful witch to oppose her. Glinda may not have had the power to destroy another witch herself.

After Dorothy destroys the WWotW, Glinda suddenly announces - oh you had the power to return home all along! Funny you didn't bring that up while the WWotW was still a threat.

You realize that the Wizard of Oz was not a good person - he says he is, but he is a bumbling incompetent fool and not a good person. He sent Dorothy and gang on a suicide mission. He knew they wouldn't come back to expose his fantastically precarious deception as wizard of oz.

But it was all a dream anyway. Oh well.

Driving to Ohio from NC in late Sept and was planning a stop at Point Pleasant WV to visit the Mothman Museum. But have been watching some museum videos on YouTube to get an idea of what to expect. Now I am reconsidering stopping at all...

I think it still might be worth a stop! At least to go see the town :)
