Christ this was frighteningly accurate, but it put too much faith in the idea that these fks wouldn't cheat to gain even more electoral votes.
Okay, I know that presidential elections usually amount to voting for the lesser evil, but damn, both candidates are well over my evilness threshold. I know that there's a pretty good chance that Trump's too inept to actually pull a lot of what he wants off, but I wouldn't feel good about voting for him, even if it's to keep Hillary out of the White House.
I never said I would be voting for him. I only said that while Trump is a buffoon, Hillary shouldn’t be trusted, either, and yet people are still making excuses for her.
I apologize, but I’m tired of being told I have to vote for someone I don’t want to vote for, and especially when people to scare or bully me into voting. That’s not how a democratic society should work.
I’m not voting for a douche who talks big talk, but probably won’t deliver, and who’ll just look like a jackass if he wins.
But I’m also most certainly not voting for woman who considers my people the “Taco Bowl Demographic” (I’m Cuban on my mom’s side), and who claims to be a champion for women’s rights, yet accepts “generous donations” from Middle Eastern countries run by fundamentalists who execute gays and treat women like shit.
I’m not voting for either, and that’s final. Nothing anyone else says will change my mind.
In the words of one Stanley Marsh; “I just don’t understand why every four years, you people freak out over whether to vote for a Giant Douche or a Turd Sandwich.”
Another important thing to keep in mind is that while Trump is an opportunistic schmuck who has exploited the system at the expense of minorities, Hillary Clinton has *actively conspired* to keep that system biased.
Hilary Clinton could probably kill someone and get away with it. At the very least, if that happened, I wouldn’t be surprised at all. At least most people are aware of how awful Trump is, but lots of people seem to think the sun shines out of Clinton’s ass.
Nope, the sun doesn’t shine out of her ass. The sun doesn’t shine out of anyone’s ass, so to speak. Not even Bernie Sanders’s ass. But I’m one of the helpless idiots who has to actually live and probably die on this planet during a Trump Presidency, so yeah, no Jill Stein for me.
I like the fact that gay marriage is legal, and I want to see Citizens United shot down, and the Hobby Lobby decision undone. That’s never gonna happen under Trump.
Trump is already whipping Republicans into shape as I predicted he would. He will have the wind of a GOP Congress at his back and he will bend over and suck V. Putin’s cock and prostrate the country at his feet… until something goes wrong and the two of them get in a pissing match.
That ain’t gonna happen with Hillary. I was an idealist during the primary and I supported Sanders; now I am a pragmatist and I support Clinton.
When even 50 REPUBLICAN international security experts say Trump is unhinged, you need to pay attention - we cannot afford to have him win, and voting third party guarantees his victory. Lemme say this as plainly as possible - there is less than zero hope of Jill Stein winning. I don’t even understand why people believe she will win. All that’s gonna come of the Jill Stein protest vote is President Trump. Again, I don’t understand why people think they’re going to get anything out of this but a Trump Presidency.
Or, maybe, y’all don’t care if he wins?
Well guess what, if Trump wins you will sincerely forget everything Hillary Clinton has ever done and you will wish she was in office, this I promise you. Yes, I know none of you agree with me, but by 2018 you will know regret on a whole new terrifying level. Yes, I said terrifying.

The simplest response I can give to this is that Trump isn’t the Republican candidate. He played the system to become their candidate, but the vast majority of the mainstream Republicans hate him. A GOP congress won’t support him, and his personal policies have almost nothing to do with the RNC’s. While we’re at it, the POTUS doesn’t actually write laws, Congress does. Hobby Lobby can’t be undone by anything short of an act of Congress, and voting for Congress is a completely separate election than the POTUS. I have yet to hear a single incidence of Trump saying he would use the Presidential Veto, and this is Trump we’re talking about, people have attacked him over his Taco Bowls, so if Trump even once mentioned he would veto anything, you had better believe it would be plastered across every major news centre in the world as Trump trying to subvert democracy.
Hillary, on the other hand, has the media treating her use of the Presidential veto as a matter of fact.
You know what would be the best possible outcome? Trump presidency with a Democratic Congress where Trump gets pissed off her can’t do anything, or so stressed out by the taxing nature of the presidency, and either quits or goes so off his nutter he’s the first president to be impeached, and his VP is either killed, impeached himself, or otherwise removed from power, leaving Orrin Hatch (assuming the wikipedia article is up to date and he’s not replaced before then) as president, who is then *still* blocked from doing anything useful by the Democratic Senate (cause he’s a Republican and we know that the R or D next to your name is more important in politics than actually doing something productive). That’s my dream for the next four years: nothing getting done. Really shows how much bullshit the two party system is when I think this collection of coincidences is more likely than a 3rd party candidate winning, and I’m voting 3rd party this election.
Seriously this. Somehow people forget even current events where a blocking minority of Republicans stopped all of Obama’s momentum in 2010.

And honestly, re: that last point about the bulls – bulls are dangerous and aggressive animals that can, will and *have* severely injured or killed cows in the past. A cow (or even the bull!) can be seriously injured if they have an accident while mating naturally. It’s literally something that is done to keep the animals SAFE as well.
queer is a slur, grow up
‘Queer’ was reclaimed as an umbrella term for people identifying as not-heterosexual and/or not-cisgender in the early 1980s, but being queer is more than just being non-straight/non-cis; it’s a political and ideological statement, a label asserting an identity distinct from gay and/or traditional gender identities.People identifying as queer are typically not cis gays or cis lesbians, but bi, pan, ace, trans, nonbinary, intersex, etc.: we’re the silent/ced letters. We’re the marginalised majority within the LGBTQIA+ community, and‘queer’ is our rallying cry.
And that’s equally pissing off and terrifying terfs and cis LGs.
There’s absolutely no historical or sociolinguistic reason why ‘queer’ should be a worse slur than ‘gay.’ Remember how we had all those campaigns to make people stop using ‘gay’ as a synonym for ‘bad’?
Yet nobody is suggesting we should abolish ‘gay’ as a label. We accept that even though ‘gay’ sometimes is and historically frequently was used in a derogatory manner, mlm individuals have the right to use that word. We have ad campaigns, twitter hashtags, and viral Facebook posts defending ‘gay’ as an identity label and asking people to stop using it as a slur.
Whereas ‘queer’ is treated exactly opposite: a small but vocal group of people within feminist and LGBTQIA+ circles insists that it’s a slur and demands that others to stop using it as a personal, self-chosen identity label.
Why?
Because “queer is a slur” was invented by terfs specifically to exclude trans, nonbinary, and intersex people from feminist and non-heterosexual discourse, and was subsequently adopted by cis gays and cis lesbians to exclude bi/pan and ace people.
It’s classic divide-and-conquer tactics: when our umbrella term is redefined as a slur and we’re harassed into silence for using it, we no longer have a word for what we are allowing us to organise for social/political/economic support; we are denied the opportunity to influence or shape the spaces we inhabit; we can’t challenge existing community power structures; we’re erased from our own history.
I’m not kidding. Cis LGs have literally taken historical evidence of queer people’s involvement in the LGBT rights struggle and photoshopped it to erase us:
Pro tip: when you alter historical evidence to deny a marginalised group empowerment, you’re one of the bad guys.
“Queer is a slur” is used by terfs and cis gays/lesbians to silence the voices of trans/nonbinary/intersex/bi/pan/ace people in society and even within our own communities, to isolate us and shame us for existing.
“Queer is a slur” is saying “I am offended by people who do not conform to traditional gender or sexual identities because they are not sexually available to me or validate my personal identity.”
“Queer is a slur” is defending heteronormativity.
“Queer is a slur” is frankly embarrassing. It’s an admission of ignorance and prejudice. It’s an insidious discriminatory discourse parroted uncritically in support of a divisive us-vs-them mentality targeting the most vulnerable members of the LGBTQIA+ community for lack of courage to confront the white cis straight men who pose an actual danger to us as individuals and as a community.

Queer is an excellent word, especially when your identity doesn’t fit neatly within one little label. Queer is also an explicit rejection of normative expectations sexuality and gender. It’s radical as fuck.

I’ve personally screamed a variant of it, “we’re here, we’re queer, we want our civil rights” marching down Pennsylvania Avenue with thousands of other queers demanding marriage equality and an end to queer-discriminated adoption. (You’re fucking welcome.) This slogan was often paired with “not gay as in happy, but queer as in fuck you.”
Show from 1999. Around the same time, there was a show on called “The L Word.” That’s right–“queer” was more acceptable than “lesbian.”

Learn your history. “Queer is a slur” only if you’re a TERF. Otherwise it is a blanket term over three-quarters of the community uses.

What scientists know about the inner workings of the pathogen that has infected the world
For all the mysteries that remain about the novel coronavirus and the COVID-19 disease it causes, scientists have generated an incredible amount of fine-grained knowledge in a surprisingly short time.
Thousands of different coronaviruses may inhabit the planet. Four of them are responsible for many of our common colds. Two others have already triggered alarming outbreaks of disease: in 2002 a coronavirus caused severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), which killed more than 770 people worldwide, and in 2012 a different strain started Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), taking more than 800 lives. SARS burned out within a year; MERS still lingers.
The newest coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, has created a far deadlier pandemic in part because once it infects a person it can lie undetected for a long time. An individual who had the SARS coronavirus did not transmit it until 24 to 36 hours after displaying symptoms such as fever and dry cough; people feeling ill could be isolated before they made others sick. But people with COVID-19 can transmit the virus before they show clear symptoms. Not feeling ill, infected men and women work, commute, shop, eat out and attend parties, all the while exhaling coronavirus into the airspace of people around them. The virus can remain undetected inside the human body for so long partly because its genome produces proteins that delay our immune system from sounding an alarm. Meanwhile lung cells die as the virus secretly reproduces. When the immune system does hear the call, it can go into overdrive, suffocating the very cells it is trying to save.
In the graphics that follow, Scientific American presents detailed explanations, current as of mid-June, into how SARS-CoV-2 sneaks inside human cells, makes copies of itself and bursts out to infiltrate many more cells, widening infection. It shows how the immune system would normally attempt to neutralize virus particles and how CoV-2 can block that effort. It explain some of the virus’s surprising abilities, such as its capacity to proofread new virus copies as they are being made to prevent mutations that could destroy them. And it shows how drugs and vaccines might still be able to overcome the intruders.
Virus invasion and immune response
A SARS-CoV-2 particle enters a person’s nose or mouth and floats in the airway until it brushes against a lung cell that has an ACE2 receptor on the surface. The virus binds to that cell, slips inside and uses the cell’s machinery to help make copies of itself. They break out, leaving the cell for dead, and penetrate other cells. Infected cells send out alarms to the immune system to try to neutralize or destroy the pathogens, but the viruses can prevent or intercept the signals, buying time to replicate widely before a person shows symptoms.
Drug and vaccine intervention
Commercial and university labs are investigating well over 100 drugs to fight COVID-19, the disease the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes. Most drugs would not destroy the virus directly but would interfere with it enough to allow the body’s immune system to clear the infection. Antiviral drugs generally stop a virus from attaching to a lung cell, prevent a virus from reproducing if it does invade a cell, or dampen an overreaction by the immune system, which can cause severe symptoms in infected people. Vaccines prepare the immune system to quickly and effectively fight a future infection.
The remarkable and mysterious Coronavirus genome
The SARS-CoV-2 genome is a strand of RNA that is about 29,900 bases long—near the limit for RNA viruses. Influenza has about 13,500 bases, and the rhinoviruses that cause common colds have about 8,000. (A base is a pair of compounds that are the building blocks of RNA and DNA.) Because the genome is so large, many mutations could occur during replication that would cripple the virus, but SARS-CoV-2 can proofread and correct copies. This quality control is common in human cells and in DNA viruses but highly unusual in RNA viruses. The long genome also has accessory genes, not fully understood, some of which may help it fend off our immune system.
