I want more people to know that while the Palestine Olympic team consists of only 8 athletes, at least 69 Palestinian Olympic athletes have been killed since October 2023. This includes athletes who were going to compete in these games and retired athletes such as Majed Abu Maraheel, the first Palestinian Olympian, who died of kidney failure in a refugee camp product of lack of medical treatment.
since the olympics are coming to a close, i'd like to commend all the athletes from palestine, yemen, the republic of the congo, sudan, & all the other nations listed below (& those that aren't), for doing their nations proud in spite of the hard circumstances many of them are coming from. you are superhuman.

If you want to know about people’s personal lives, you should mind your own business and definitely not go asking their friends.
RPers are entitled to privacy. No one owes you any details.
In my year and a half in the community, I have seen people’s relationships put under a microscope and interfered with. I don’t just mean people within the community who date, but even RPers whose partners don’t even have a Tumblr account have received probing and even aggressive messages. Even RPers who are only friends with a jokey ‘ship name’ have received similar intrusive and stirring messages which have negatively affected their friendships.
It doesn’t matter how well-meaning you are. Others won’t be, and that is why everyone is entitled to privacy. We’re not putting on a soap opera here. Our personal lives are not out here for your entertainment. That’s what the RP is for.
If people don’t want to talk about their relationships on Tumblr, it’s none of your business.
If people do talk openly about their relationship on Tumblr, they still have the right to expect respect in their ask box. They still don’t owe you answers to questions they don’t want to answer.
‘TMI Tuesday’ and ‘Ask Me Anything’ posts aren’t an invitation to be insensitive, sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, biphobic, ableist or rude. (Yes, I have seen all of the above.)
If you have to start a message with any variation of ‘Not to be rude, but’ just don’t.
