Most of the time Daniel enjoys his job.
He’s the personal driver to Max Verstappen, the CEO of some multimillion company.
It pays well, so well that he managed to move out from his shared 4 bed 2 bath apartment and into a 2 bed 2 bath on the outskirts of the city.
Max is quiet a lot, especially on the days where he has meetings back to back. He uses the drive in between destinations to rest his head on the window and stare blankly at the passing scenery, muttering a quick ‘thank you’ when Daniel opens the door for him.
Other days he’s friendly with Daniel. Indulging in whatever story Daniel has brought forth.
Sometimes instead of asking Daniel to wait for him as he grabs lunch, he invites him inside to eat with him. It’s always pleasant and he won’t complain about not having to pick up the bill.
There’s days where Max is tense. So wound up that he doesn’t bother letting Daniel get the door for him. Just slams it with fury.
Daniel would catch his eye in the rearview before Max would scoff and put the partition up, blocking Daniel out.
Sometimes he’d eventually calm down and bring it back down with a deep sigh. Other times he leaves it up happy to pretend that Daniel is simply gone.
It’s on those days where Daniel’s gps would lead him to a club where Max would pick up someone and bring them to the back seat.
Max would make him pull round back and force him to wait outside as he did his business.
He’d pretend he doesn’t feel the car rocking and counts the stars instead.

Recently Max has started initiating the conversations between the two of them.
Asking about Daniel’s life and if he likes his apartment.
Daniel doesn’t take it as strange and figures this is Maxs way of apologizing.
Daniel indulges him and tells him all about his tiny apartment and the cat he kind of adopted last week.
Max frowns a bit before continuing the conversation.
At the end of the week when he’s dropping Max at his very expensive apartment building, right in the heart of the city with the penthouse overlooking the skyline, he asks him to join him upstairs.
Though a bit confused as to why, Daniel follows him upstairs.
They get in the private elevator and go all the way to the top.
When Daniel steps into the threshold of the glorious apartment, Max turns to him and hands him a key.
“What’s this?”
Max shrugs “This place is large enough. Id rather you here than your old place” he says simply
Daniel is about to protest but Max cuts him off with the simple raise of his hand “It will be much easier to pick me up if youre already so close”
Daniel says nothing, but gapes widely at the key in his palm.
“The cat can come too of course. If you’re so worried”
Max politely escorts him around and to his quarters before leaving him alone with his thoughts.
As Daniel lays back on the plush bed, he clutches the key to his chest so tight that it leaves an imprint in his palm.

Nothing much changes after Daniel’s sudden living change.
He still drives Max around and they still have lunch.
It’s just that now they go home together.
One day at lunch Max tells him his next meeting might be long, and that he doesn’t want him waiting in the car.
Daniel nods and says that it’s no problem. That he’ll just find something to do.
Max shakes his head and says he’ll join him upstairs.
Daniel just shakes his head. He doesn’t protest. It seems like one of those days for Max and he doesn’t want to make it worse by denying his request.
They eat the rest of their meal in silence.

Max situates him in his office and then he leaves for his meeting.
Daniel walks around the space and snoops a bit at the books on the shelves.
3 picture frames occupy a space on one of the shelves.
One is of Max and a blonde woman. He recognizes her as Maxs sister, Victoria. They’re both smiling widely.
The next seems to be a family photo. Max, Victoria, and in between them, their mother.
Max has his head on his mother’s shoulder and he’s clutching her arm tightly. Victoria does the same.
The third one is of Max and his father.
Jos is sat at a wooden desk, similar to the one in the office, with Max standing beside him.
Jos is smiling brightly while Max maintains a stoic expression.
They’re not touching in any way, and with the way that Max has his hands clenched infront of him, it seems that he preferred it that way.
He walks around a bit more before growing bored and decides to sit on the couch and mess around on his phone.
Time flies and his phone dies. He curses himself before shoving it in his pocket and standing to crack his back.
It’s dark now and the lowlight of the office makes him feel cozy.
Daniel walks to the floor to ceiling glass windows and presses his hand against the glass as he takes in the city below.
“It’s nice isn’t it?” A voice says from behind him.
He jumps and spins around to come face to face with Max.
“Sorry I-“ he clears his throat “I didn’t hear you come in. How was the meeting?”
Max draws his lips into a line and shrugs.
Not good then, Daniel thinks. He wonders if it will be one of those days.
Max walks towards him and stands by his side. Together they watch the city lights in silence.
Something then catches Maxs eye and he tilts his head.
He grabs Daniel’s hand and places it back on the glass where he had it previously.
“You left a mark” he says flatly.
“Oh” Daniel tries to move his hand away to see and hopefully wipe it away, but Max keeps his hand there firmly with his own.
He covers Daniel’s hand with his and steps closer to Daniel and brings his lips to his ear,
“Clean it”
The words brush the shell of his ear and Daniel forces himself not to shiver.
Daniel nods and goes to move his hand again. This time he’s successful as Max moves his hand away.
He doesn’t step back though. He stays behind Daniel and watches as he grabs his handkerchief from his jacket pocket and clean away the mark.
It doesn’t get rid of the mark completely, infact it might have just made it worse.
When he’s done he turns to face Max.
He just stares him up and down before turning and exiting the office.
Daniel follows him, hot on his heels.
It’s clearly one of those days.
Daniel pulls up to the club and Max goes and gets his fun for the night.
It’s always for the night. He doesn’t let it get any further than that.
When Max gets back before he puts up the partition, he tells Daniel to bring them back to the apartment.
He does just that and the three of them cram into the private elevator.
Daniel stands towards the front and tries to ignore the sounds coming from the men behind him.
He focuses his attention on his shoes (a gift from Max. “You’re my employee. You need to look the part”)
He counts the floors in his head and lifts it in anticipation for theirs.
As he does so he catches Maxs eyes in the mirrored walls of the elevator.
They’re trained on him even though he’s clearly getting a handjob.
Daniel can’t move his eyes away. He’s entranced.
His eyes flicker to Maxs lips as they contort to let out a moan.
The doors open and Daniel shakes his head and steps out.
The two men follow suit and Max leads him and his friend to his bedroom, leaving Daniel standing out in the open.
Daniel rubs his palms against his thighs and turns to go to his own room.

Two weeks pass and Daniel has tried and failed to forget about what happened in the elevator.
He’s found himself waking up in a sweat and a tent in his pants most days.
He says he’ll forget about it eventually, even as he rubs one out in the shower and comes into his fist with a groan.
He tells himself that he shouldn’t be thinking about his boss that way, when he’s at dinner with Max.
It was just a one time thing he says quietly, as he hears the slap of skin on skin coming from Maxs room when he gets up to drink water at night.
It won’t happen again.

It’s NOT one of those days the next time it happens.
He and Max had just gotten dinner and Max makes him go to the club again.
Instead of going back to the apartment, Max makes him go around back and park.
Daniel thinks it’s just like the times before so he moves to exit the vehicle.
As he does so Max joins him and tells him to get back inside.
“What?” Daniel asks, there’s a flush on his cheeks.
Max pulls him by his tie. He grips it tightly as he pulls Daniel’s face to his.
“Get back inside” Max whispers against his lips.
They stay like that for maybe a few seconds before Daniel nods and pulls away to go back inside.
Max yanks his tie one more time before getting into the back seat and locks the door.
Daniel collects himself and enters the drivers seat.
It’s then he realizes that the partition is down and the guy is on his knees infront of Max mouthing at his crotch.
Max snaps his fingers and points to the rearview.
Daniel turns his head and forces his gaze to the rearview mirror.
“Good boy” Max says, and Daniel is certain he’s not talking to the man in between his legs.
Daniel watches as Max gets a blowjob, keeping his own hands in his lap avoiding his dick.
He groans softly at every noise Max makes and bites his lip when he gets too loud and Max narrows his eyes at him.

- It's 2024. Daniel is back in the grid, his hand is completely healed, his curls are thriving. He feels confident again and he's happy. He's in a low dose of antidepressants and the therapy does wonders. 2022 seems really far away.
- He's starting the season in a good mood, flirting his way through the paddock, joking with the Netflix boys. It's Thursday and they're in Australia. Australia, baby, his favourite place in the world. His family is coming to see him race, Isaac being old enough to really enjoy being in the garage. He's curious and funny and Daniel misses him a lot when he's away. He loves Isabella too, she's his princess. But she's not really interested in the sport (yet) and she's in a hardcore Bluey phase. So Isaac asks him if he can go with him to the garage and when they're there, he asks if they can go visit the Red Bull garage because he's obsessed with the RB and to be honest, with Max too. Just like his uncle, Blake likes to say. Usually that makes Daniel to show his karate moves but not for long because Blake is a scary motherfucker sometimes even if he hides it well.
- So to the RB garage they go. They chat with Christian for a bit (Do you want to run for us when you're big, Isaac?, he asks) (And Isaac says yes, yes, yes) and they dodge Helmut when he appears in the garage because he's scary and not in a nice way. (Isaac says he smells like moths and Daniel has to fight really hard not to laugh) and then they spot Max. He's talking with GP but when he sees them, he waves smiling and he talks with Isaac like he's an adult (and even invites him to look into the car and explains to him everything, twice when Isaac asks again about some things).
- And yeah, Daniel has feelings. Like, he knows he had feelings for Max since... Well, a long time ago. He knows but he was scared of being bisexual (thanks Josh Allen for fixing that) and older than Max, and he was scared of being reciprocal because yeah, like Max was his teammate? His hot, younger, faster teammate.
- But now Daniel is (even) older and has learnt to not give a fuck about what people thinks. And yeah, watching Max with his niece? It's doing things to Daniel's heart.
- So yeah, Australia is awesome, racing in Australia is even better, getting points in Australia is a dream come true after these past years. He's high on endorphins and that's his excuse to intercept Max when he's on his way to his driver room after the podium. (Hey, hi, Maxy, Maximus, I was thinking, like, congrats in the podium, by the way, good trophy and all that, but I was thinking of asking you if you wanted to come to Perth?)
- The craziest thing to happen is that Max says yes. No doubts at all, just his big smile that makes his eyes go small and a 'yes, Daniel'.
- PERTH. It goes like this: Max comes to the farm, falls in love with Daniel's house, Daniel's falls in love a bit more with him. And Max knows nothing about it because Daniel is a bit immature but he's not stupid (not about this anyway) and Max is one of his best friends and he doesn't want to ruin their friendship.
- So he says nothing and he enjoys having this week with Max in his home. They race dirt bikes, they cook together (well, they try) and they play with Isaac and Isabella when they come to visit. And then it's Sunday, a whole week has passed and they're going to fly together soon to Japan. They're enjoying the hot tub after having a nice dinner and Max is laughing at Daniel's impression of Toto and Daniel feels like his chest is filled with helium, feels high, lucky, funny. And that's his excuse to kiss Max.
- Max doesn't stop laughing for a second even in the middle of the kiss and then he stops moving and breathing and Daniel is panicking a bit. Because he knew it would ruin everything, this thing he feels for Max. But then Max's hand is in his neck, drawing him against his lips again, magnets in the dark.
- So yeah, that's a thing they do now. Making out. Heavy petting. Every time it happens, Daniel wants to flail his arms, run in circles, scream like fucking Tarzan. It's like getting a podium over and over again, it's like champagne bubbles getting trapped in his chest. Max kisses him like he races (point-blank, non-stop, making him weak at the knees) and he likes to make Daniel straddle him and he likes to caress his thighs, draw his tattoos again, the three against his lips before kissing each of his fingers.
-It makes Daniel effervescent with happiness and when they're racing in Japan, he's fourth in the race, almost a podium and he comes back to the garage and hugs everyone and laughs and almost cries because he's coming back, baby, he's so coming back. And he goes back to the hotel and doesn't go to his room, he goes straight to Max's room and he doesn't stop to think because he's going to chicken out otherwise.
- And he's on his knees.
- He's on his knees for Max, and he puts his forehead against Max's tummy and kisses his belly button and blows a raspberry against his hip and Max pushes his head away, silly-laughing, and Daniel says let me, let me, please, I won't do it again, Maxy, but let me and Max touches one of his brows and touches his hair and then brings him against his body.
- And kissing Max is like getting a podium but blowing him is getting second place, getting drunk, getting sweaty, getting high-high-high.

A grainy video from a club surfaces. It’s dark and the person clearly zoomed in to a corner where 3 people are dancing- grinding on each other. The one in the middle kisses the man in front of him before lazily turning to kiss the other. There is a pause and something whispered in an ear. “So does he ever bite you?” Lando asks Daniel, his curiosity seeping through every word.
“No. It’s not like in the movies Lando. He sips the blood from a reusable metal straw.” But Daniel suddenly remembers this vampire girl in his class in high school talking about how she couldn’t wait to find her lifelong partner and sink her teeth into his neck. “But maybe I should ask if he’d like to try?”
Charles jumps in next to him, “Maybe werewolf blood doesn’t have the same taste and he just doesn’t want it.”
The statement clearly escaped Charles mouth before it was thought through. He gets a quick elbow in the ribs from Lando, making him grunt before profusely trying to eat back his words. “Wait- I didn’t mean it like that! Daniel I’m sure your blood tastes sweet!”
“I don’t want it to taste sweet! Carlos doesn’t really like sweet things anyway! But you’re right, Charles, maybe he’s just not interested.”
Lando doesn’t want to leave it at that, “And I still think you shouldn’t assume things, mate. Carlos is like down bad for you. I’m sure that extends to your blood cells too.”
The conversation doesn’t leave Daniel’s head. He starts subtly presenting his neck when Carlos pets through his hair and exchanges his big sweatshirts for plain t-shirts where the collar hangs lower around his clavicles. But to no avail, Carlos doesn’t budge.

There’s a new student in Daniel’s program. The talk of the faculty. He’s tall, handsome, British and doesn’t hide the fact that he’s a vampire.
Carlos doesn’t really preoccupy himself with the presence of other vampires on campus. They usually keep to themselves and lay low, but George is everywhere.
He’s at the café where Daniel works when Carlos arrives to pick up his boyfriend after his shift. He’s at the damn library the day Daniel convinced Carlos he’ll actually study this time and not distract Carlos every 5 minutes. George is even in their fucking apartment, sat on Carlos’s chair at the desk next to Daniel who is focused on the assignment he’s editing on his monitor screen.
George is inching closer, to Daniel’s neck as he tucks himself a little closer to get a good look at whatever Daniel’s typing. Carlos sees the way George’s nostrils flare, the way his eyes fall down to the tendons moving under the tan skin of Daniel’s neck. Of course, Daniel is still snubbing his sweatshirts for some reason. Carlos doesn’t know what his boyfriend is playing at because he’s seen him shiver and rub his hands over his forearms to warm them up, and every time Carlos offers a change of clothes, Daniel refuses.
Carlos closes the door with a bit of a slam forcing Daniel to spin his head and look his way. “Got you a slushy on my way!”
“Oh! Thanks Chili! You’re the best!” And if Daniel were in his wolf form, he’d probably be wagging his tail with glee. “George, are you hungry? Want anything to eat? I’m sure Carlos has something in his fridge for you.”
“Ah no, that’s alright! I wouldn’t want to impose myself.” And Carlos hears an entrancing lilt in his tone that does exactly what it’s meant to do, capturing all of Daniel’s attention. “I only really like to feed from the source material, if you know what I mean.” George delivers with a smirk and breaks eye contact with a still hypnotized Daniel to look at Carlos.
“I’m not sure you’re the type to share, but then again, I’m not see any traces on him letting me know he’s taken.”
Carlos hates using his unnatural speed, but he hates it even more when assholes come into his apartment and use their disgusting hypnotic powers on his boyfriend, implying that they’ll put their teeth in him.
He’s in between Daniel and George in the matter of a second, the impact of his abrupt stop pushing Daniel on his rolling chair further behind him, creating a safer distance between him and George.
“You back off or I’ll file a complaint against you!”
“No harm in asking.” George says with his hand raised to indicate he’s given up. “Anyway, I’m just here because Lando asked me.”
“What?”
But George is already out of the door, and when Carlos turns around, he sees Daniel looking at his feet in shame.
“Why is Lando asking George to bite you!?”
“Huh. No reason. Just Lando being a dick, I reckon.”
Carlos tugs Daniel up from the chair into his arms and brings his face to Daniel’s neck, breathing in the familiar scent.
“You want me to bite you, Daniel?” Carlos asks with a tiny bit of teasing in his voice, as he lets his tongue lick a strip on Daniel’s Adam’s apple.
And despite the small nod, Daniel insists, “Not if you don’t want to.”
“I want to.” And Carlos lets his hunger and his lust obscure the rational part of his brain. His canine sink into the skin, and a desperate moan escapes Daniel’s lips.
