Gift Project for Collaborative Thinking. We were required to give a gift to someone. I chose to gift a canvas that I have been working on for months to my mother. I had already started painting said canvas, but never got around to finishing it, so my mom kind of figured she would never get it. I surprised her yesterday at her office with the canvas and helped her hang it up. I stuck around for a little while and enjoyed a can of Coke while spending time with my mom.

What’s to come?
I’m currently working on a lot of school work at the moment, and having 20 hours of studio/week and a job is really taking a toll on my mental health. In order to stay healthy and creative, I’m hoping to create more works and upload them. With what little free time I have, I want to stay busy with my own personal artwork and growing myself in that. So stay tuned for some more crazy artworks and maybe I’ll actually post entries like a real blog (kinda like this one I guess?).
This is our final manipulation of one of our collages. I chose my aesthetic collage to work from. We uploaded them into Photoshop and then changed them however we wanted to. Since I love fabrics, I decided to try to simulate the scraps of fabric that I always have in my craft bag. I erased all of the little shapes around the larger ones and then filled in most of the shapes with a floral print. This was kind of tedious work but I enjoyed searching for floral prints and placing them into my collage.
I promised you guys the edited versions of my collages, so here they are.
These are some transparency effects that I tried out in my Extended Perception (Color Theory) class. We didn’t do much of these in class so they were all done in the wee hours of the morning in my messy living room. I think they turned out well enough for the project but I probably needed to do one or two more. My favorite is the one with the purples and oranges.
This is the first project we did in my Extended Perception (Color Theory) class this semester. It is a collection of color studies based on hue, value, and saturation. Diving the colors by saturation was definitely a hard task, and then we had to collect colors of the same value and colors of a variety of values. More coming soon.
A series of color studies done in my Studio Foundations II course. This is for the class “Extended Perception,” aka Color Theory. This project is about the interaction of color and how a color on different backgrounds can look different based on the color behind it. I had a lot of fun making these although they were very frustrating to pick the right colors and make the colors work the way that I wanted to.
This is for a project
Haven't posted in a long time. I'll start posting more often now that I'm back in class making things and I have access to photoshop. These are three unnamed collages for our first project in Image Making. One had to be political, one narrative, and one purely aesthetic. I am really enjoying this semester of foundations so far. I will post the edited, portfolio-ready collages once I have access to my laptop
