You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it.

No its because most boys look ridiculous in girls clothes, but girls look decent in “boyfriend” clothes. Stop trying to make EVERY THING into some form of female oppression.

It’s not “boyfriend” clothes. Clothes do not inherently have gender, they are pieces of fabric and no one cares about your hetero insertions. There was a time when it was normal for young men to wear dresses, clothing was much more gender neutral.

The only reason you think so now is because you are socialised differently. Which is ok, that happens, but when you assert things as facts and don’t look at any of the culture behind them you looking like an anal fissure. 

Do not project your issues onto other men, men can wear whatever the fuck they want and look fabulous as hell.

To add a personal story to this:

I have a beautiful 3 year old son. Keep that in mind. He is 3. His favorite person in the world is his older sister. They do everything together. His sister loves long flowy dresses and leotards. She also loved Frozen. They both loved Frozen. When my daughter wanted to be Elsa for Halloween, he wanted to be Ana. And like we were ok if my daughter wanted to be Captain America, it’s perfectly ok for my son to be Ana.

He loved his Ana dress when he went from house to house.

Last week he was so excited to wear a dress that his sister had given him that she’d outgrown. This 3 year old proudly dressed himself in a black dress, his OWN black dress I might add, over blue jeans and went to school.

When I picked him up at the end of the day I had to sign an incident report. He told me, his lip still trembling and his eyes with tears, that the older kids had been teasing and making fun of him. Now my boy is resilient and most things run off his back. But these kids teased him enough that he actually cried and when his teacher asked if he wanted to change, he said yes.

I picked him up in a t-shirt and blue jeans.

A three year old boy that had been delighted to go to school in his pretty black dress, mocked and made to cry over 3 inches of ruffled fabric.

We talked about it and about how some kids can just be mean. But they didn’t just up and decide those 3 inches were worth mocking. They were TAUGHT that.

They are just clothes. That’s all they are. The 3 year old girls running around in jeans in his class are not mocked. But the 3 year old in a dress was. Explain to me how a 3 year old can look ‘bad’ with a few more inches tacked on to ruffle at the bottom of his top.
