Amsterdam’s Creepa and Perth, Australia’s LUUDE join forces to bring us a magnificent new Flume flip. They give the esteemed producer’s Free a dramatic future trap edit. It vivaciously chops and slices, sending electrical shockwaves straight through my veins. As they recommend, wait for the second drop. That’s when things really get earth shaking wild. This hard hitting, mind blowing remix is pure serrated ecstasy. Download this colossal remix for free, here.

Metronomy will always hold a special place in my heart with their wonky, quirky indietronica, so I’m incredibly elated that they recently dropped a new tune named Old Skool. I’m also hoping they’ll follow it up shortly with more new music from their forthcoming fifth album Summer 08. In the meantime, Dutch producer Fatima Yamaha will get your feet shuffling to no end with a remix of Old Skool, one brimming with electro sexy and disco chic heat. It’s almost as if Metronomy has gone Toro Y Moi/Les Sins on us. Yummy.
There’s very little I know about this producer named daydreamer, other than the facts that his name is Chris, and he makes breathtaking electronic music. Today, he dropped a tune named Skyscrapers. Its effervescent beauty and vast expanse quickly evoke the sort of music we love from Porter Robinson. Is there any more fitting name than ”daydreamer” when it comes to such reverie inducing, epic sweeping and melodic atmospheric electro? Skycrapers comes from daydreamer’s Senses EP, due out Friday June 10th on iTunes.

Progress pictures for Megacon. So fucking proud of my very first cosplay. Can’t wait to show it off.

The overview effect is a cognitive shift in awareness reported by some astronauts and cosmonauts during spaceflight, often while viewing the Earth from orbit or from the lunar surface.
It refers to the experience of seeing firsthand the reality of the Earth in space, which is immediately understood to be a tiny, fragile ball of life, “hanging in the void”, shielded and nourished by a paper-thin atmosphere. From space, astronauts claim, national boundaries vanish, the conflicts that divide people become less important, and the need to create a planetary society with the united will to protect this “pale blue dot” becomes both obvious and imperative.
Third-hand observers of these individuals may also report a noticeable difference in attitude. Astronauts Rusty Schweikart, Edgar Mitchell, Tom Jones, Chris Hadfield and Mike Massimino are all reported to have experienced the effect.
The term and concept were coined in 1987 by Frank White, who explored the theme in his book The Overview Effect — Space Exploration and Human Evolution
