Here’s the new design of Nova the Hedgehog, one of the protagonists of this AU.

Nova is the daughter Sonic the Hedgehog. Having been raised traveling the world with her father, she gained an interest in photography, always wanting to take a picture whenever they reach an interesting spot.

This interest then led to her working for a news agency: Hint. Though it’s mostly known for believing stories most consider hoaxes or conspiracies…it’s also pretty boring. Nova had heard stories from Sonic, about how daring and epic his adventures were. Now that the world was experiencing a profound period of peace, however, there’s nothing as noteworthy as her father’s adventures to report.

Nova is passionate about getting larger than life stories out into the public, willing to take on assignments people would otherwise ignore. She has a keen eye for detail, and takes a more ‘active’ role when it comes to investigating. Whether it be staking out, rushing around the city, or interviewing humans and mobians alike.

As for Nova’s abilities, she has the usual: super speed, reflexes, and can roll herself into a ball. One ability that’s unique to her is her energy absorption power. This allows Nova to take in different types of energy by physically interacting with it, which augments her capabilities depending on what energy she absorbs. For example, absorbing thermal energy will give Nova heat abilities.

However, Nova has one key weakness. If she absorbs too much energy, her body will not only stop taking it in, but unleash all of what she collected at once. Essentially, think of it as her overloading. This will leave Nova incredibly tired, so she has to be careful with how much she absorbs.

Here’s Surge in my Chaos Generation AU. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I was going to add IDW characters in at first, but decided to since they’re pretty fun to draw. I might even add other characters from different universes, too, like Archie or Classic

Now back to Surge: taking place 20 years into the future, Surge is a prison escapee, having spent most of her time there. While staying cooped up, the tenrec had to get creative. She began learning how to use technology to be prepared for another fight with Sonic. Speaking of him: she’s having a hard time finding him.

Ever since Eggman supposedly ‘died’ years ago, Sonic became much more of a traveler. While the authorities are still after her, Surge tends to hide out in Eggman’s abandoned bases. This gives her free time to study Eggman’s tech, as well as learn his old schemes and use his stuff.

Here’s an attempt at a dynamic drawing. As you can see, it’s Rush and Temple fighting. I imagined Rush having a more acrobatic fighting style, while Temple’s leans into power.

As for what they’re fighting about, I dunno. Maybe Temple’s attempting to steal an artifact for G.U.N. And maybe Rush wants to preserve the artifact’s legacy by stopping anyone from stealing it.

More Fankids inbound!

First up is Whisk the Rabbit, the son of Tails and Cream. Much like his father, Whisk is a young prodigy, but in raising Wisps and Chao instead of machinery. Despite his age, he wishes to help out on adventures.

Second is Temple the Echidna. He’s the next in line to become Guardian of the Master Emerald. Knuckles isn’t stepping down anytime soon, so that leaves Temple with the freedom to do what he loves: treasure hunting.

Thirdly (and most perplexingly) is River, Big the Cat’s son. His birth is a mystery, even to Big. He just happened to come across River one day after finding a strange ‘phantom-like’ ruby. Viewing himself as a miracle of some sort, River dreams of making a name for himself, whether it be becoming a hero or a star.

Lastly, there’s Absolution, or Absol for short. He strives to follow his parent’s footsteps. Though since it’s been peaceful for quite some time, he’s going to have a hard time competing with his time-traveling father and hammer wielding mother. Just like Amy, however, he is able to summon a giant yo-yo.

I decided to redesign Nova a bit.

Here are Sonic and Blaze, now twenty years older. In this au, they live separately, though they occasionally drop in their partner’s dimension from time to time.

Sonic hasn’t changed much since he was a teenager. He still lives freely, and does just about whatever he feels like at the drop of a dime. He could be managing a chili dog food truck or join a car racing tournament. Whatever gets him moving. Naturally, his penchant for traveling hasn’t ceased either, which passed down onto his daughter, Nova.

Blaze became Queen of the Sol Empire, and settled into a peaceful reign. Though there aren’t any current threats to the Sol Emeralds, she still trains her pyrokinetic powers. Her devotion to her empire is as strong as her devotion to her family. She has trouble conveying her emotions at times, which can come in conflict with how her people see her.

First Post!

Alright, here’s the gist. These two are the children of Blaze the Cat and Sonic the Hedgehog. This takes place 20 years into the future. These aren’t the only kids, as I’ll draw them later.

Rush the Cat mainly lives in the Sol Dimension with Blaze. He’s insanely curious and hyperactive. Being very interested in history, he explores areas in search of long forgotten places.

Rush also has earth manipulation abilities, whether it be lifting rocks out of the ground, or taking carbon from soil and creating strong diamonds. This makes Rush’s powers the most versatile out of the two.

Nova the Hedgehog stays in Sonic’s home dimension, and lives a similarly nomadic lifestyle to her father. She loves art and music. Nova travels around, stopping only when something catches her artistic eye.

Nova has plasma manipulation powers. This all boils down to being able to conduct electricity and heat, making her powers a lot more destructive.
