I can't vote because I can't get a ride and it's making me feel super horrible since people really want me to vote and I kinda wanna cry
Oh no! Do any of these help? (Text version here)
Woohoo!!! Your vote is your voice. Bring down the rafters.
KEEP IT UP!
Donât stop! Shock em with your amazing numbers!
Yeehaw! Go Texas!!
BIG NEWS IN TEXAS!!!!! Over the 10-day early voting period 4 MILLION votes were cast! This is 84% of the total votes casted in the 2014 midterms!!! Oh, and Beto OâRourke is now even with Ted Cruz in the polls so get out and VOTE BETO FOR U.S. SENATE ON TUESDAY!!!!!!!!
FLIP TEXAS BLUE TO DESTROY REPUBLICANS
Brian Kemp does not belong in the governorâs office.
He belongs in jail.Â
Particularly if you live in Texas, please vote, just for the schadenfreude. Can you even imagine if Texas goes blue. Can you even imagine Ted Cruz losing. Iâm getting giddy just thinking about the conservative meltdown. There is literally zero path to the Presidency for Republicans that doesnât include Texas. If they have to sweat bullets for the next forever thinking that Texas might be a left-leaning state⊠guys, this just sounds like a fun time.
Vote for Beto for the schadenfreude.

Say no to fascism and gerrymandering and voter roll purges and disenfranchisement and the revoking of citizenship.
Check if youâre registered. Do it a few times leading up to November.
Absentee ballot.
Voter ID state by state.
Whatâs on my ballot?
Whereâs my fucking polling place?

Are the major news medias talking this?
CNN is especially with the new law suit against Georgia for itâs purging of voters. The claim is they were all dead people.
North Dakota Native voters who do not have a residential address: here are instructions so you can vote in the midterms. Please print this off and share with others who donât have internet. Call this number if you have questions: 1-701-255-0460
thereâs also S.3543 - Native American Voting Rights Act of 2018 which was just introduced to the senate october 3rd, you can write to anyone in your state isnât currently sponsoring the bill, the easiest way is probably with resistbot
Hey do y'all fucks remember two years ago when just before the election all these âdonât vote both parties are badâ or âvote independent!â Posts were going around and then Trump won and now two weeks before midterms thereâs all these âdonât bother voting, revolution is the only way!â And âyour vote isnât gonna matter and is an ineffective way to protestâ posts are going around? Yeah knock that shit right the fuck off, donât fall for it and get your ass to the polls, we are not doing this again.
The data suggests enthusiasm among early GOP voters that could put a dent in Democratic hopes for a "blue wave" in the midterms.
DOÂ NOTÂ RELY ON A BLUE WAVE.
GO FUCKING VOTE!!!!!!!!!
This is ghastly news. Please take heed Florida, we simply canât lose the elections over something like this. Educate your friends and neighbors that it might be best to take advantage of early voting instead of voting by mail this year. If voting by...
IÂ donât think I have any mutuals in Florida, but if anyone else does, pass this along. Probably important to be aware of these issues when voting by mail in other U.S. states, too.
Iâve been voting by mail all my adult life, because I registered during the Bush years, when âhanging chadsâ in the state where one of the candidateâs brother was governor were one of the reasons he was allowed to win, and there was a lot of concern about the security of voting machines (which has NOT improved). Voting by mail has definite benefits, but cast your ballot early, and make sure it counts.
⣠NATIONWIDE TRACTION, PLEASE!
Keep up the energy. Inspire the youth vote.
Donât take no for an answer
Lack of transportation is a barrier to less affluent voters, so Lyft is providing it for the 2018 midterm elections.
Popular ride-hailing service Lyft said this week that it would provide discounted and free rides during this yearâs U.S. midterm elections to encourage people to vote.
Nonvoters are usually less affluent than voters, according to a study by Pew Research Center, which likely makes transportation less accessible to them.
For that reason, Lyft will offer riders half-off rides booked anywhere in the U.S. on November 6. Organizations like Vote.org and TurboVote will help distribute a nationwide 50% off code that can be used within the Lyft app. The company says it will also provide free rides through nonpartisan, nonprofit partners like Voto Latino to help members of underserved communities who historically have had a harder time getting to the polls.
Mike Masserman, Lyftâs head of social impact, said that the companyâs service is now available in all 50 states, with statewide coverage in 48 states. Ninety-five percent of the American population will have access to these promotions, he said.
In addition to the rides, Lyft is working to register people to vote as National Voter Registration Day approaches on September 25. The company plans to distribute information about registration as well as key issues at Lyft Hub locations. It will also use its app and social media accounts to remind passengers of registration deadlines and Election Day.
Lyft also plans to educate its drivers as well as its employees. Itâs a nonpolitical effort, Masserman said. âItâs absolutely essential that we will be nonpartisan in doing this,â he said. âWe want to make sure everyoneâs voice is heard in this election.â
I got some cynical responses to my last post where I encouraged people to vote.Â
I got memeâd and GIFâd. Probably some eye-rolling was involved.
Yes, I am an optimistic idealist. I understand that some may think voting will not do any good at this point. They think I am being unrealistic.
Though compared to more militant approaches, I think my approach is still a bit more realistic.Â
The violent overthrow of the government is not happening any time soon. Thatâs most likely a quick death for the few willing to try. I doubt youâll convince many people to give up everything for a hopeless fight.Â
Ridding the US of capitalism overnight ainât happening either. Your fantasies of billionaires lining up for the guillotine are probably going to stay in your head for now.Â
Not to mention any drastic and immediate transition on this scale has always been accompanied by blood and misery and generations of painful recovery.Â
That would literally kill me. I could not survive it. So pardon me if I want to try voting first.Â
The thing is, our voter turnout has been abysmal. Too few of us have been participating.Â
At the moment, they can only rig the system if the results are fairly close. I do not believe they can handle a landslide. Not yet. And we have the numbers for a landslide.Â
I think Trump and his supporters have been quite the motivator. I am hopeful that enough people will choose to vote so we can move things back in a better direction.Â
No, the Democrats are not perfect. But they are still the right direction. And as a new generation of politicians enter the fray, maybe they can inject more modern ideas into the system. We can slowly introduce socialist programs over time. We could start with healthcare. Maybe education. Slow and steady.
This is a game of inches. Wanting to change overnight with a bloody revolution⊠well⊠letâs just say I should be the one memeing you. I should be the one sending passive aggressive GIFs to you. My eyes are not rolling⊠they are spinning around in circles.Â
Since your way = my death⊠no, Iâm probably not going to be on board with that.Â
Iâm gonna continue to tell folks to vote.Â
And Iâm not going to give up hope because your edgy ass thinks everything besides âburning it all downâ is pointless.Â
Seriously fuck this country right now.Â
Everyone of you in the US needs to check youâre still registered this weekend and register if you arenât. And you need to go out and vote. And before any of you even get the thought of âit doesnât even matterâ in your head FUCK THAT.Â
FUCKING TEXAS has a chance of going blue this election. Letâs make that happen. Get out there and vote and make sure this weekend you can.Â
remember: texas does NOT let you register to vote online. go to your local town center and register in person. check out this link to see the rules for how to vote in every state in 2018.Â
