okay so my sister was talking about her science teachers over the year and then i suddenly remebered my seventh grade science teach who me and my entire class hated and by the end of the whole year the answer we came up with was that she “didn’t know how to teach gifted kids”

me and my entire AC (Advanced Content, after elementary school, this is what our (gifted kids) classes were technically called) class decided that our science teacher (who had been teaching for sixteen !!! years) could teach a class of thirty-one thirteen year olds

important information: i went to a title one middle school where the majority was black and hispanic students and this was that teachers first year not teaching general ed kids

anyways, in conclusion, by not providing adequate support for its poorer communities, the education system in america leaves its undiagnosed neurdivergent students in the hands of its under funded, under trained teachers
