Joey/Monica fanart. It's an unpopular pairing but it's my unpopular pairing🫶
Joey sketches✨
Edwardian era Joey, Chandler and Ross. I just love how they look in period clothing!😍
Just as a side note, some of my Friends fanarts are pretty much Leyendecker studies - Which is basically my own take on doing master studies lol. So those will be tagged as "leyendecker study" for future reference :)
Ichabod Crane paint sketches 🎃
Back in 2023 I designed a sci fi fighter pilot AU costume for Jim, and decided to revisit it with some sketches :)
Part 2 of my Joey and Chandler set!
Joey version
Part 1 of my Joey and Chandler set! I painted them like... Two, three years ago?😂
I was going to paint all the Friends but these take awhile and it's hard for me not to get side tracked👉👈
Chandler version
As promised I'm going to post more of my Friends fanart, starting off with the painting in my icon! It's a Leyendecker study but with Joey... :)
Do you have any more Friends fanart? Is there a full version of the one that's your thumbnail?
Hi!! I have about 7 or 8 finished pieces, including the one in my thumbnail + a ton of sketchbook pages! It's kind of cringey and non-canon haha. But I'll try to share some soon!
hi! If you’re interested in listing your Saturday Evening Post piece with Joey and Chandler on your prints shop, I would love to buy one!
Love your ST stuff, that’s how I originally found your page. Your work is awesome, you know how to see the layers of lights/darks/colors that make the lines we see in things. Not easy to put warmth behind a painting’s skin or light in its eyes! I know you usually go digital but you’d probably do great with oils
Thanks, just lmk :) I’ll keep an eye on your posts and shop
Hi!! Omg thank you for the kind words and support! I've added Joey and Chandler to my shop!💖
I'm happy to hear my work conveys warmth and emotion, cause sometimes staring at your own art too long skews your perception lol. But it's exactly what I hope for when I make my illustrations. 🥹 And at one point I actually worked exclusively with traditional mediums! But it was more when I was learning my foundations. The field I'm in now is almost exclusively digital and I've gotten too used to it😆 But it would be really fun to try oils again - Maybe some day!
I finished my McCoy illustration!🤩
This is the second part of my own little comic book cover series. I'm really bad at starting and finishing projects like these, and I actually think this is the furthest I've ever gotten!
As hinted at in my previous post, here is a new Kirk painting I did recently! When I started painting, it wasn't intended to be a faux comic book cover, but somehow that's what it turned into.
A WIP shot for an upcoming McCoy piece
Ricky painting I finished recently✨
If you don't mind me asking, what resources did you use to learn how to draw? (I love your art so much, it reminds me of J.C. Leyendeker's work)
Hello! Thank you so much, Leyendecker is a huge inspiration to me!
I started drawing in college, but honestly my classes didn't teach me much haha. After I graduated I started studying my foundations at places like Concept Design Academy, Brainstorm, and CGMA (though I heard they changed ownership).
After I started working it was all self-studying. My favorite way to learn is doing master studies but making it fanart. :) For example, I recently did this study based on a Leyendecker piece:
The goal for me is to replicate the original as close as possible to really understand the choices the original artist made, whether that be color, composition, pose, lighting, story, etc. In Leyendecker's case, every brush stoke he made was made by design and very intentional so I make sure to replicate even his brush strokes. After this I try to do my own original pieces and apply what I learned to my own work.
I hope this helps!☺️
Do you do commissions?
Hi! Sorry for the very late response, I haven't been on for awhile. Thank you for you interest in my work!
I'm not accepting commissions at the moment but I will make an announcement if/when I am accepting commissions in the future😊
