Crowe Altius. Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV.
Beware of crows!
Legends 2023 - Day 2
Sorry, this was supposed to posted last night but shenanigans!
It is Day 2 of Legends! Again, look at @starjunco's amazing art, today of Crowe looking appropriately fiery.
We see there is already some lovely content for day 2, so it will be reposted soon. Good luck to everyone still planning to post, and thank you to all the lovely people who have been creating beautiful art and wonderful stories for our lovely glaives. <3
Lately, I've been contemplating the timeline of Kingsglaive. After the prologue, we aren't shown how fast all of the events in the movie happen. You have to pay close attention to each scene and speculate to get an idea.
The only time in the movie where we kind of get a timeframe is Crowe's death and when her body is discovered, if you pay close attention to the decomposition of her body.
After reading a few webpages on human decomposition, there's four phases: rigor mortis (3 hours after death), internal organ decomposition and odors and bloating (24-72 hours), body fluids leak out of orifices and bloating subsides (3-5 days), body goes from green to red (8-10 days), and finally, skeletization (at least 1 month after death). Granted, in a PG-13 movie, artists aren't going to be extremely accurate about dead bodies. It's also worth considering that Leide is a hot and dry environment, so decomposition would happen at a faster rate. Judging from how Crowe looked when her body was being examined, she had been dead for at least three days. Maybe 5-7 days if you consider that she didn't look too green at that point, but we only saw her face.
Also judging from Drautos's reaction when he got the phone call that Crowe had been found, she wasn't supposed to be found so soon. Probably not until after the treaty signing, at which point the Glaive would not be there to claim her body.
Crowe did not get much screen time in the movie, but, in various fans' points of view, she stole the spotlight and caught their attention. Crowe was not my favorite character in Kingsglaive, but I do wish her longer screen time, more character development and more badass scenes. Because she deserved something better.
From what we know about Crowe’s life, she should be more sullen. She was cast out of a whole village as a child--meaning something really, really bad and probably unspeakable happened and the blame got put on this scrappy little girl.Â
But then she met Lib. He talks about her eyes, but he doesn’t actually say what he saw in her eyes. He saw a survivor: someone who was willing to live, and most of all, hope.Â
She was a survivor of Galahd’s fall. The movie shows how much Nyx struggled with what happened a number of years after the fact. Having one’s home destroyed would make many people give up, but Crowe believed in the Lucian king and his promises. So she enlisted in the Kingsglaive.Â
Then towards the end, the Glaives could not withstand the Imperial offense in battles. They started to lose. Niflheim kept bringing out bigger and badder daemons. There was no end to their manufactured forces. We still see Crowe putting in her all against them, and her exhaustion afterwards.Â
When she received her secret assignment, she was excited. She had been specially chosen alone to rescue the Oracle! Crowe believed in Luna and everything she stood for.Â
No matter what, Crowe had to believe in something. It was how she kept going.Â
i love characters with an innate ability to just fucking survive
bestie you should be dead but you arent fucking how
That feeling when you get a follower, and it's not a bot.

And I, too, have a promise to keep to Nyx. I pray you two see each other again soon.              Yeah…me too.Â

Ranger: Oh, so when a crow remembers people who wronged them and holds grudges, it's "intelligent" and "really cool", but when I do it I'm "petty" and "need to let it go".
